Questions for this shipment: 

Question: Shipper: I would be interested in transporting the truck but I would need more information. I'll be delivering to Idaho late this week or early next week and could use the load as a back haul. Your statement to contact Bob Weaver at the point of origin for additional information doesn't help too much if I don't have a contact number. Since uShip doesn't allow that information until after bid acceptance, it is difficult to do. If you can get the dimensions, especially the length, width, and approximately weight I could make an offer. Do you know the length of the flatbed, wheelbase? My proposal would be to securely transport it on a 25' open flatbed gooseneck trailer. I doubt the weight is a problem, but loading it and being able to get the loading ramps up could be a clearance issue for the back of the truck. I've hauled several 2 ton trucks, but bottom line is you need to provide a little more information if you possibly can. Thanks and I hope to hear from you. / Don (7/16/2006)
Response: The total length of this truck is 284 inches. It is 84 inches high. The wheel base is 173 inches. Cab width is 68 inches, the width of the back is 84 inches. its equipped with a flat bed with no sides or tail gate. The truck runs and the owner will help load. (7/16/2006)
Question: Shipper: Thank you very much for the details. My proposal would be to securely transport the truck on a 25' gooseneck trailer. I can't give EXACT dates for pick up at this time, but I can refine the date and time for pick up as I get closer to the pick up point. The approximate pick up would be 24-29 July. Delivery would be 4-7 days after loading. Since the transport is almost 2000 miles, it is a costly haul with the high fuel prices everywhere and especially in the upper western states. Also, uShip gets 7.9% of the bid. My price would be $1,775 including cargo insurance to $50,000. I'm a legal motor carrier with DOT authority and all required insurance. Question: Granpa....I'm sorry....I have just been notified that I have a another Federal Motor Carrier Safety audit scheduled on July 27th. My concern is that I may not get back in time for the audit. I've postponed the audit three times and they won't allow me to postpone it again. I will not be able to take the truck until the audit is finished. I'd still like to take the truck but I just can't take a chance with the audit pending. If it can wait I can get it immediately after the audit. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience but I simply do not have the option. Response: You mention that you have a box truck in the details. The F6 is a 1 1/2 ton with a flat bed its 284 inches by 84 inches high and 84 inches wide. Can your truck handle something this big? (7/19/2006)
Question: yes indeed it's no problem accomidating your vehicle at all. My dimensions i have to work with are 96" wide 96 high and 26' in length and hauling vehicles is a huge part of my clientel. I use cargo bars as well as ratcheted tie downs and I chalk the wheels as well and screw the chalks into the floor so that the vehicle is TOTALY SECURE.... If you have any other questions feel free to ask . I may be away from my lap top for a few moments while I swim with my daughter, She is on the road with me this trip and it's her first trip out west so she is having a ball.
