Question:
10/28/2009
What is your target price? Report a Violation
Response: Let's let the uShip system "work" for a while, but you are "way high" on your price. These are empty steel racks, almost impossible to damage. Think of it as a return of dunnage, not as valuable freight heading to a customer. We are new to uShip, but we ship hundreds of truckloads and LTL shipments all over the country every year, so I have a pretty good idea what trucking rates should look like. This is a low-value shipment. Think "scrap steel", not "finished goods." Regards, Rick, CEO, Mfg Co. in NJ 10/28/2009Report a Violation
Question:
10/28/2009
Hello, I may have done this wrong. But, we can put 2 side by side and stack 1 on top of the other. So, there will be 4 racks in a row. If you have 65 of these to move your looking at 64' of space needed to haul all 65. Let me know. Thanks.Report a Violation
Response: You should be able to put 66 racks on a 53' trailer -- 11 stacks of 6 racks will fit in a 53' trailer. Don't get too hung up on my sizing. I know they are 80" wide, 50" deep, and 50" tall, but they nest, so a stack of 6 racks will easily fit in a standard height trailer. One pile of racks will have H-frame gates for the racks stacked on top, as each rack ships to our customer with a gate, so customer can actually stack the racks with product on them inside their plant. This is an easy shipment. Racks are like "scrap" in terms of the "class", although we would have to replace them for $450 each if you drove off a cliff.10/28/2009Report a Violation
Response: : Hahaha...nice. Okay, so your looking to ship these in a 53' enclosed trailer?10/28/2009Report a Violation
Response: Don't care. These painted steel float glass racks are IMPERVIOUS to weather. They do NOT need ANY kind of special attention. Recommend you strap them down, that's it. In a van, no strapping required.10/28/2009Report a Violation
Response: : Okay, Just wondering. You mentioned they'll fit in 53' and it will be much easier to find a 53' van than a 53' flat or step deck. Thanks.10/28/2009Report a Violation
Response: Van, flat bed, whatever. These are structural, nestable, stackable, bandable EMPTY float glass racks. Could not be a much simpler load to handle or move. You pretty much CANNOT damage them.10/28/2009Report a Violation
