Additional Information: Drafting table base made by swedish company Nike - from 1950's era. Has an old barberchair style base with footpedal lift. Weighs around 175Lbs. Table will not have a top, just the base. The previous owner can assist with loading at the pickup point.

Question: Hello - would the shipper (or originating location) be willing to place & secure item to suitable pallet / skid so as to be acceptable for common carrier service? ... THX (8/13/2008)
Response: Thank you very much for your response. I am sure that the seller in Ottawa would be willing to place the base on a skid and prepare it for shipment. I will email him to make the necessary arrangements. The originating location would be at the seller's home, which I hope is not a problem. Would you also be able to handle the importation paperwork, or will we need to work that out beforehand? I have wanted to ship this item for quite some time and would jump at the opportunity to do business with you. Please place your bid! (8/14/2008)
Response: Common carrier residential service is pricey ... Cost savings can often be realized by consignor dropping-off shipment at carrier’s terminal location so as to avoid residential, limited access and/or liftgate accessorial charges ... Terminal location for shipment’s origin within 6 miles (or 10 Kn)of postal code K1J-9K8 ... also, on the destination end, if consignee could pickup at a local business "drop shipment" location, then this would save even more ... shipper will have to prepare US customs paperwork (some which can be obtained from carrier's terminal and online from USCIS) ... let me know if this would work .. Response: Are you only able to pick up from a carrier terminal location? Unfortunately, the seller of the table does not have a large enough car to get the table to a terminal. I could probably arrange for someone in Ottawa to pick up and deliver to a local carrier terminal (any recommendations?), but I am also willing to pay extra if you are capable of picking it up. I will we be able to pick up the table at any carrier terminal location in the Abilene area. The seller will be placing the table base on a pallet for me on Monday. The postal code of the pickup location is now K2E 5E9. What does your time-table look like? Let's make this work! Thanks. (8/14/2008)

Question: The postal code difference for pickup isn't that great ... however & here's the cost difference: as mentioned, "residential + liftgate" pickup is very, very pricy for common carriers service & especically more so in Kanuckistan ... would budget around $660 for soing it this way ... now, if shipper (consignor / seller) could drop-off at carrier's terminal which is not that far away (get a neightbour, local handy man, or young buck with PU truck?) then cost would be signifcantly less ... like around $500 ... heck, you can rent a pickup from uHaul 1/2 day for $50 or less & save yourself a $100 ... let me know if somehow the terminal "drop-off" would work ... Response: The gentleman selling the table has found a vehicle to deliver the table to a terminal location. He only needs the address of where you would like it sent. I will edit the listing in a moment to reflect his exact address so perhaps we can find one close to him. Please advise me of the nearest terminal and some dates that will work for you. Shipper (consignor) to bring "palletized" item to originating terminal & Consignee to pick-up same at destination terminal ... Question: If you can way a month I would brng this table support for you for $333. I will need ome help takng up my ramp but I will wrap wth blankets and secure n truck. Do not need any crates and I will pck up from home location unless there is no access for a regular moving truck. (8/24/2008)
