Question: I can't believe they refused a fertility exam on Mike! Could this one get further east instead of south? I have committed to picking up a horse just south of Syracuse, NY coming back to AL, and then will stop in central PA for another one headed to AL. If your guy can get close to either area, I can bring him down for the same quote as Mike. I will be leaving the area between the 10th & 12th - preferably the 10th or 11th. Thanks! As for the stallion in Maryland, when they refused to let me get his fertility checked, HUGE red flags went up! I was going to pay for the test, but they said I couldn't have it done! Would you buy a car before being sure the engine runs? This is a breeding stallion, why would anyone buy a breeding stallion without making sure he was fit for his job? Anyway, that deal is history. This horse in Canada was my second choice, not as pretty, but he was a better racehorse and is a better sire, so we are happy.

Response: I can leave as soon as the morning of the 10th (Tuesday) and MUST leave no later than early morning on the 12th (my farm help will be out of town the 14th & 15th so I have to be back). I don't know how it works in Canada for the international health certificate; fortunately I am right here in town with the State Vet & can walk the paperwork through in an hour or less for my clients. Response: I just posted a bid request, not sure how long it will take to find someone. I can overnight the payment up there, so that's not a problem. Response: Sorry for the delay in getting back to you (was on the road). If you can get him to the WV location in time, I may be able to swing over there. It would add about 300 miles to my trip which costs me about $150 in fuel and mileage-related maintenance. If I am able to find another one in that area, I could split the additional cost. Otherwise, I would have to add it to the previous quote. I know I will be going to Michigan in the next 6 weeks, so if we can't get the timing right now, maybe we could do it then? Thanks! (11/7/2009)
