Question: Please note if a service provider isn't showing their MC number on their profile page they probably aren't legal to do interstate transport which means that if they get pulled over or in an accident their truck, trailer & all your belongings would be impounded by DOT.UShip has a nice feature for you on the profile page which provides a link that you can click on their MC # that takes you to a website maintained by the Federal government called SAFER that shows if a carrier is legal to do interstate transport. If a provider isn't showing the MC numbers on the profile, they probably aren't legal as there is nothing private about MC #’s. By law they have to be printed in large letters on the outside of their truck. (10/9/2009)
