Additional Information:
I have a 1987 Coachmen Classic (25 ft) that needs to be hauled (trailered) from Cape May Court House, NJ to Crockett, TX. The vehicle does run, but is not roadworthy of a cross country trip. It must be hauled. Shipping dates are flexible. I'm open to having this delivered to Houston, TX as an alternate delivery location.
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
what does vehicle need to become road-worthy? (4/4/2006)
Response:
Driving this RV is not an option. The last trip 6 years ago is broke down twice and was stressful, inconvenient and expensive. This is why I'm requesting it be hauled. (4/4/2006)
Question:
Please give me an idea of the type of breakdowns experienced and read my profile and feedbacks...Thanx, Jim (4/4/2006)
Response:
Don't know the details of the repairs, as I'm buying this from my inlaws. I'm not interested in having this RV serviced at this time. I plan to use this RV as a hurricane evacuation shelter on my farm in Crockett and don't plan to license or drive it in the next 5 years while I build a retreat home. (4/4/2006)
Question:
Well was just thinking it may be cheaper to get it roadready than finding a heavy-haul company to haul for you @ $3.00 plus a mile just a thought. (4/4/2006)
Question:
Does the 132" inch Height include the roof mounted air conditioner? Thank-you, toter2 (4/4/2006)
Response:
The height to the top of the air conditioner is 10' 3 ". The RV has a Roof Top Carrier that is 11 Ft. 0 in., the top half of the carrier can be removed and would be the same height as the air conditioner, 10 Ft, 3 inches. The length is 25' 1" including the spare tire. The tire could be removed and save some length. It a 24 Ft motorhome. (4/4/2006)
Question:
Thanks for responding so quickley. I am located only a 1/2hr from CMCH.Any chance of me taking my own measurements? (4/4/2006)
Response:
I welcome your bid. Answer: I did get the true measurements. [Respond to the driver's question/Edit Answer] (4/4/2006)
Question:
I thank you for the request, but I only do drive-a-ways when it comes to motorhomes..If you read my feedbacks , you will see that I do an great job at what I do..If you can make the vehicle roadworthy, I will get it to you,,Thanx for the consideration Jim (5/5/2006)
Response:
Thanks for your reply. I do not want this RV driven and have no intention to make this RV roadworthy at this time. (5/5/2006)
Question:
Thank you for the bid request, however, I do not have the equipment to handle. Good Luck! (5/5/2006)
Question:
We are interested in hauling your motorhome for you. You are requesting that it be hauled and than we get paid upon delivery. I have ask uShip to set up a trust account so that the shipper would put the money for the haul in their trust account and than we the haulers would get paid through their trust account. That way both the shipper and the hauler is protected. If uShip won't do this than we will set up a trust account of our own which you would put the money for the shipment in. We could not touch it until the shipment was completed. At that time the money would be released to us the haulers. If this sounds like it would work for you we would be glad to haul your motorhome for you. Carrie ship (5/9/2006)
Response:
I have a PayPal account if that helps. I like your proposal on payment. When can you haul? (5/9/2006)
Question:
(5/9/2006)
Question:
It was just this morning that I made the suggestion to uShip for them to set up a trust account for all of us who are using uShip. Let's give them a day or two and if they don't reply than we will proceed with our own trust account. (5/9/2006)
Response:
Thanks for pursuing this payment option. I'm open to alternative payment, if necessary. Can you tell me about your transport business, type truck and trailer you propose to use? Do you need any additional infomation? This RV is located at a business and it does start. (5/9/2006)
Question:
You asked what kind of truck and trailer we have. We have a new 1 ton dodge dully and the trailer is a goose neck trailer 26 ft long. It is rated at 11 ton. We would need to know for sure the height and just bouble check the length. From what you have on uShip the length would just fit with a foot left over. Carrie (5/9/2006)
Response:
Your rig is ideal. Thanks. (5/9/2006)
Question:
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. uShip is not going to help. How ever between my attorney and the bank I'm hoping that we about have a plan in place. I just talked to the bank already this morning. They called me. I'll let you know as soon as I know more. Carrie (5/12/2006)
Response:
OK. I'll be on travel the next 2 days and will be awaiting status. I look forward to getting this shipped. (5/12/2006)
Question:
WE are Still looking to haul your motor home for you if it is needed. There was a mix up in messages from one of our shippers and it has caused a delay. Please advise if you still need the motor home shipped? Carrie (5/23/2006)
Question:
Wondering if you are still looking to get this shipped? Carrie (6/3/2006)
Response:
Do you know which week or days you would be driving. I want to make sure I get the RV ready so it starts. It's currently at an auto service off exit #6. Do you want a cashiers check at pickup or do you use paypal? I haven't been getting your email from Uship. I have to logon and check every couple days if there are any messages. Thanks. (6/3/2006)
Question:
Glad to get your response. This uShip sight messed us up and we lost one load and I thought we had lost yours too. The bank is working on getting the paper work done for us so we can have a trust account. If you don't want to wait upon them than we request one half when we pick up your motor home and the balance when you receive it. If that will work than we have a deal I hope. Larry Gene and Carrie (6/5/2006)
Response:
Great. I'm OK with half up front and the balance on delivery. I look forward to geting this moved. (6/5/2006)
Question:
Thanks for your prompt reply. There have been so many messages lost or something. This past month has really been a mess due to uShip not getting messages to us and all. Because we didn't hear from you for so long we have excepted a load that will take us about a week . As soon as that load is delivered we will be ready to pick up your motor home and we will be on our way to you. uShip messed up so badly that we have been charged for a load that we haven't even hauled yet. What a mess. We will try and keep in touch with you. We will make a formal bid and than we can talk over the phone. No more uShip problems that way. Larry Gene and Carrie (6/8/2006)
