Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hello, I just want is the engine & tran New Or Used? and will it be crated or strapped down to palllet? you said you can drop off at a Detriot shipping terminal, this might save you some money. (4/30/2007)
Response:
Both the engine and transmission are used but newly rebuilt. The engine is a 1962 Chevy 261 cubic inch 6-cylinder. However, it is only the "short block" consisting of block, crank, pistons, etc. but not the head. The transmission is an aluminum case Borg Warner T-5 that has been specifically rebuilt for my application. This engine and transmission will be installed in a 1946 Chevy pickup. Both the engine and transmission will be strapped to one pallet and enclosed in plastic. These two items are at the engine builder's in Utica, MI. He will deliver the pallet to the shipper, preferably in the northern area of Detroit. The delivery will be to a body shop in California which has a fork lift truck for unloading purposes. Regards, Dennis (4/30/2007)
Question:
Hi, My trailer is in Shelby township and i might be in California in a week or so. Do you still need this done? It will also be picked up and delivered right to your door by me with no middle man and never leaving my vehicle.. Great references if you would like. $300 CASH AT DELIVERY plus uship fees at bid acceptance. Thanks Gary MAGNUM70RT (5/3/2007)
Response:
Thanks for your interest in moving my engine and transmission from Michigan to California. I have other bids of $300 (actually $299) but I haven't been satisfied with the pickup arrangements and, therefore, haven't yet accepted any of these bids. If you could complete this move for a TOTAL price of $300 cash, I would accept you for this move. The pallet will need to be picked up at the engine builder's home in Utica, MI where he has the ability to load it on your trailer. My plans were to have the pallet delivered to a friend's body shop in my town from where I would then transport it to my home. A fork lift truck is available at the body shop. However, if your trailer would allow me to remove the pallet via an engine "cherry picker", I might have you bring it directly to my home. If you can agree to a total cash price of $300, we'll have a deal. Regards, Dennis Fuerst (5/4/2007)
