Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hello. Will this packing keep them until they arrive or will they need to be in a refrigerated trailer? The quantity? Will it grow as well or stay the same? Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Response: They don't need a refrigerated trailer. 48 hour delivery would be ideal, but I believe they will still be at least cold if not frozen for 72 hours. I certainly hope the shipments will grow greater than 10. That is just an initial estimate. I may even decide to ship 20 to start. Thanks for responding, Mary-Ann (6/28/2009)
Response: I know you are just getting started, but I'd love to get in on this as a regular run if I could do it in my 1 ton, 4 door and have them all inside the truck. Are they stackable, meaning all could be carried in the cab of truck? I used to run ATL to LA weekly up until several years ago in my semi. I parked that to start my own business with my dually. I also have a stock trailer, 24 X 7 1/2 X 7 1/4. I'd carry them in that if you needed the room and they would be ok. Wish we could talk....Are you a company or working from home? Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Response: They can be stacked. So far this sounds like it may work. My business is out of my home as of now. My brother has a store front on Melrose. Give me an idea of my cost then we can talk further about specifics and time frames. Thanks, Mary-Ann (6/28/2009)
Response: Tell me.....how often would you be sending these? Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Response: I can be flexible with you but my hope would be weekly or bi-weekly. Every three weeks or monthly could be an option at least initially, You'd just have more product to carry. Price will be a large determining factor. The more I think about it, the first run, I will probably send more than 10. Perhaps as many as 40. Depending on the sale of those and orders will dictate your trips. The shipping piece for me is really the only question I have. Will it be cost effective? Once I have that figured out we will be ready to "roll" (no pun intended) pretty quickly. Like in the next week or two. Mary-Ann [phone number removed NOTE: Once a bid is accepted, both parties’ contact info will be exchanged. – uShip] (6/28/2009)
Response: Duh! Forgot what you had written about being weekly trip once it takes off, which I don't think would be far off. I'd like to do a dedicated for you...meaning you get first dibs on my services. We'd have to book the first one so we could have each other's contact info after that. I can do the first run for you for $1600 then if we can come to terms we can do a regular and we'll work out the details. I could do it for you 7/8 and/or after. If I can find something else to take out I could cut it some, but with that you would have it done whether there was anything else to go or not. I would have to find a boat, camper, etc. to take so I could drop it before going into CA. Just let me know. Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Response: Let me give this some thought. I would have to send at least 100 cakes for this to be profitable. In the meantime,if you can find a way to cut the cost for me it could be more enticing. I'll be in touch, Mary-Ann (6/28/2009)
Response: I understand. That's why I said I would be happy to help you get going. We would be helping each other. I would try to find something else to take out that way and it would definitely help us both. When are you wanting to start this? Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Question: To help you and get this going I'll go as low as $1300. This I would do if I can't find anything else to take to offset the price. I look forward to doing business with you. Ask me anything at anytime. I'll be happy to work with you to get all this in gear. Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Question: Hello. I just sent a request to someone needing their boat hauled to AZ. If they were to accept and the dates work I could take as many cakes as you have ready after 7/7 for $500. How's that? I'll let you know if I get a response from other shipper and you let me know if this would work for you. Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Response: That definately works better, though I may need two or three extra weeks to prepare the cakes since the cost is not per cake but rather per trip. Obviously, the more I can get on the more cost effective. We'll talk soon. Mary-Ann (6/28/2009)
Response: Yes, that would be the case. You can pile them on and it will be the trip that will be the cost. There isn't enough weight to make a difference with the cakes unless you ship about 1000 or 2000 at once. Keep in mind the price could vary due to the cost of fuel, which isn't going down right now. Do you know when you were going to start sending them? Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Question: Sorry, we're not allowed to exchange contact info until we book the load then we'll have each other's #s. Once that's done this won't be necessary. I don't know when you were planning on sending the first load, but if it is after the 7th I'll be available and we can go from there. That will give you some time to put them all together and make a plentiful first run. Even the week after. You will know soon when you want the first shipment done I'm sure. Just let me know. I'll let you know when I can get something set up to go out, too. If your listing here expires just redo it and that will keep it available for us. Thanks, Debbie (6/28/2009)
Question: Hello, Mary-Ann. Just touching bases with you...I haven't locked in anything going west yet, but I'm sure I can find something that will help when you are ready to send those cakes. Just let me know when you think you will have enough of them ready to go and we'll get things ready. Have a great 4th. Thanks, Debbie (7/2/2009)
Question: Hi. Just to let you know I'm still working on getting out to CA and taking your cakes. How many do you have, how many will you have by the time you are ready to ship them and when do you think you'll be ready to do the first shipment? Thanks, Debbie (7/6/2009)
