Bid placed 2/23/2009 12:56 PM CST
Expires 2/26 12:56 PM
Hello- Which type of boat trailers do you use to haul boats? The boat I am purchasing does not have a trailer. I am trying to plan how to do this transportation. The seller is putting the boat in the water at the marina for the boat survey and sea trial. We can leave it in or take it out awaiting shipment. How do you typically move boats that do not have a trailer? Thanks-Gerard
Hello,
We use a bunk style trailer that can be wet loaded & unloaded. We do charge 50.00 each load/unload if it is saltwater or brackish water. Our trailer can also be loaded with a lift or forklift by the marina. If wet load you will need someone on each end to operate the craft. We are not allowed to by our insurance company.
Thank you for your explanation. I would like to use your services, but the dates may not line up. The weather in New Jersey is currently below freezing and this is expected to continue through next week. I am going to issue another bid to push out the pickup of this boat until March 11th allowing the sea trial and closing to occur March 8th through March 10th. If your schedule will allow, please bid this one. With the boat being fully winterized, and the boat needing to be put in the water for the survey and full sea trial, it does not make sense to do this in below freezing temperatures. The weather should warm up (above freezing), by Sunday, March 8th for the sea trial with the closing to occur on March 10th. Optimally, I would like the boat loaded for shipment to North Carolina on Wednesday, March 11th (or thereafter, but as close to this date as possible). I will issue another bid with these dates. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks-Gerard
Thank you for the update. You don't have to relist it. Accept our bid and then we will set a date for the move after your sea trail.
Thanks
Richard
Richard - Good point and fair enough. But first, please explain "Released Value or Basic Liability of $0.60 per pound for no additional charge", and "Full Value Protection coverage for an additional Charge". The value of the boat is $40,000. If you aren't fully insured up to threshold amount (such at $50,000 or thereabouts), what what's the additional charge?
Thanks- Gerard.
Gerald,
We have insurance for different items that we move. Water crafts & RVs are covered up to $100,000. Our insurance does not cover personal items or electronics ie:radars, soundings,GPS's fishfinders, unless we have a itemized list with model #s and serial #s.
Thanks Richard
RICHARD- I’ll absolutely provide you with the list of electronics (GPS, VHF Radio, etc) with model & serial numbers, and itemized list of non-electronics contents(life jackets, cushions, first aid/coast guard kit)that will be stowed in the cuddy cabin. Please confirm that there are no additional charges for your insurance coverage of these items. In terms of your pickup schedule: Do you have flexibility? We are waiting for a break in the cold weather, and once it warms up long enough, the boat goes in (and right out) of the water for its sea trial. It’s important to get the boat loaded and hauled out of New Jersey before below-freezing temperatures return. How is your schedule between Wednesday, March 11th and Monday, March 16th?? If it does not warm up by then, how does your schedule look March 18th to March 23rd? Do you have flexibility or do you have a tight schedule at this point? And lastly, once you have picked-up, will you deliver within 1 to 3 days of pickup? Thanks-GERARD
Gerard,
There will be no add. charge on the insurance. Items like this must be confirmed for obivious reasons. We have some flex. in or schedule but as you understand I will have to work the dates in around other moves and have one back into the area. As for del. your craft will be del. within 1 day.
Thanks
Richard

Hi. Thank you for your interest. Living in the Carolinas, I’d like to support your locally-based business. Here is some background on my situation. I am purchasing this boat. It does not have its own trailer. I have scheduled my boat surveyor today, Sunday, Feb 22nd, and he will perform the survey, sea trial and compression test on Monday, March 2nd. I expect to get the completed survey report by close of business Tuesday, March 3rd. And assuming it is positive, I expect to close on this boat on Wednesday morning, March 4th and take ownership. The earliest I would arrange for transport is Wednesday March 4th after 1pm. Can you extend the expiration on your bid until Tuesday, March 3rd?

Hello. The seller of the boat I am purchasing wanted me to inquire with you to determine what type of trailer you use for hauling boats. He explained that there are 2 types: There is a hydraulic trailer that can come under a boat that is out of the water on blocks. Anything else will require marina services use their boat loader to place it on your trailer. Which type of boat hauler trailer do you have? The main issue (that I just learned about) is that the seller’s boat is stored and winterized at his waterfront home and he has a local hauler put the boat in (the Spring) and take it out for him (in the Fall) using the hydraulic trailer type. Please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks-Gerard
Gerard, we use a bunk style trailer. It can go in the water but no hydraulics. thanks ddonaldson

Hi. Thank you for your interest. Congratulations on starting your business. As a resident of NC, I’d like to support your new business. I will provide you with outstanding feedback for a job well done. Here is some background on my situation. I am purchasing this boat. It does not have its own trailer. I have scheduled my boat surveyor today, Sunday, Feb 22nd, and he will perform the “on land” portion of the boat survey this Wednesday, Feb 25th. Due to the cold weather(some ice in waterway-which is something we don’t see in coastal NC), the sea trial and compression test will occur on Monday, March 2nd. I expect to get the completed survey report by close of business March 3rd. And assuming its positive, I expect to close on this boat on Wednesday morning, March 4th and take ownership. The earliest I would arrange for you to load is Wednesday March 4th after 1pm. HOW DOES YOUR SCHEDULE LOOK FOR YOU PICKING UP/LOADING ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4TH AT 1PM OR AFTER? Thanks, Gerard
Yes that would be great. We will take care of that for you.Wednesday sounds good to me ,we appreciate your business and help. Thanks.
