Response: Bo, I'll consider under $300. I am new to uship so curious to see what bids come in at and how this works. It will cost me roughly $400 (roundtrip) to go and pick it up myself, so thats my baseline for comparison. thanks for your interest. a (10/4/2009)
Question: how can you come 1295 miles to get the boat and go 1295 miles back on $400.00 ? (10/6/2009)
Response: 2,600 miles @ 20mpg burns 130 gal and assume average fuel price at $2.80/gal. 20 hr drive straight thru (have done this already 2 times to Charleston in last 6 years), spend the night in C town at friends home, next day do it again. Any other questions? (10/6/2009)
Response: Hello!! I can understand that .But what if you had to have $1,000,000.00 liability INS/USDOT/MC number/Cargo ins.+truck payment.UPkeep/no place to stay/and had to make a living with your truck.And you can only drive 11 hours each 24 hours.Becouse that is all usdot will let you.That will put you about 4 days for $400.00 less fuel.food and whatever. jerryd123326 (10/7/2009)
Response: I understand. As I mentioned in my reply to the first bid I received, I am new to Uship and was unsure as to what bids to expect from vendors. Perhaps in retrospect my budget (which is based on me transporting) is unrealistic compared to the costs and constraints of you professionals. However, I thought it reasonable to at least try...
