Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hello. Tell me more. What kind of container will the fish be in? An aquarium? More than one aquarium? Other container? Thanks. Steve (2/2/2009)
Response: Hi, well right now they are in the aquarium (obviously) and we don't really know how to effectively transport them and 80% of their water to Norfolk, VA (14hr drive). We have 140 gallons of saltwater fish and 60 gallons of freshwater fish. Bagging them will not work for a 14-hr trip. Do you have experience with this? (2/3/2009)
Response: No. I have not transported live fish before. If the aquariums needed to be transported, my suggestion would be to empty the fish and water from the aquariums, load the aquariums into the van, then return the fish and as much water as needed to the aquariums. Pumps could be used enroute with AC adapter. If aquariums didn't need to go, would covered buckets (with or without pumps?) work? (2/3/2009)
Question: I may be able to help you out. I live in Indianapolis and have lots of family in Chicago area, so I'm pretty close to you, and am familiar with the area. I've also been to Naval Station Norfolk, so I am familiar with Norfolk/V. Beach area too. What size are the aquariums these fish would be transported in? (Outer dimensions of aquariums in inches, not volume in gallons) Once I have dimensions, I can give you an answer on whether or not they will fit in my car. Are the aquariums covered with glass or screen mesh on top? My only real concern would be water sloshing around and possibly spilling over bumps in the road. Weight is not a problem, my car can haul 2,000 lbs. Please let me know the dimensions of the aquariums and I'll place a bid if it is feasable for me to complete the transport for you. I have 100% positive feedback, so no worries. Let me know of any questions you may have of me also. Thanks! Tim - Witter Bros. Transport (2/11/2009)
Response: We would not be transporting the fish in the aquariums. They must be in sealed containers with built-in filtration and temp control. These are saltwater and EXTREMELY fragile. Even the rock and sand is alive. Was hoping to find a company that has such resources and moves fish regularly. From a physical standpoint, my husband and I can do the job, we just don't have the above-mentioned equipment. (2/11/2009)
