Question: Can you arrange to have the item secured to a pallet? ~thanks! (4/7/2009)

Response: Thank you, I have sent an email to the seller asking if he can strap it to a pallet.
So far, his answers are not well written. He may be old, or maybe just doesn't write well.
He is in Royal, AR. I will update the post.
This is my first try at UShip, so forgive me if I stumble some. I have not yet bid on this since the shipping cost is worrying me, but he did agree to sell me just the Hobart.
I bought another Hobart just like this 2 years ago. Two guys and I just loaded into my station wagon, but AR is too far.

Response: Thanks for the info Ed! If it's palletized I can bid 190.00 which will included liftgate if needed for no additional charge. Just let me know, thanks again! (4/7/2009)

Response: I have not won this auction yet, but I am negotiating with the seller.
He can put it on a pallet and take it to a "place downtown" that has a fork lift. So, no lift gate is needed.
I will have it delivered to a store in the next town that has a loading dock and people there all day.
Time is very flexible, even several weeks is OK.
Ed (4/8/2009)

Response: Sounds great! I'll go ahead and place my bid. Thanks again! (4/8/2009)

Question: Hello, could this be secured to a pallet and covered for protection? thanks. (4/7/2009)

Response: I have asked the seller if he can put it on a pallet.
What kind of cover do you want? It is solid cast iron and will be repainted, so I don't know that a cover is needed. I wonder if open isn't better, so the handler can see what he is dealing with.
Ed (4/7/2009)

Response: Hello, just secured to a pallet is fine. just wanted to make sure it wouldn't get damaged . thanks (4/7/2009)

Response: I see that you made a bid, and it is marked "declined".
I don't know what happened, I did NOT decline the bid.
Did you? Does UShip automatically decline if I update the listing? I only added what you asked for. (4/8/2009)

Question: Hello, is someone going to be available to help the driver load/unload? Truck with Lift gate. Price $175.00. Office Open Daily from 8:am to 8:pm. DOT & MC #s available. Good day. (4/7/2009)

Response: Lift gate won't be necessary. Seller has agreed to leave it at a "place downtown" that has a fork lift. At my end, a local store with a loading dock can receive it.
Note, I have not actually bought this yet, we are still discussing price and costs.
Ed (4/8/2009)

Response: Thank you, I will make a bid. (4/8/2009)

Response: Thank you, I will watch for it.
I have a question. I asked UShip, but they have not answered, and I am new to UShip.
I have not actually bought this yet. Can I "accept" a bid, then cancel if I don't win the item? I want to be sure of the shipping price before I bid. (4/8/2009)

Response: Hello, you could cancel; however, cancellation fees may be applied. (4/8/2009)

Response: OK, I hope that you can explain this to me.
When you make your bid, is that a firm commitment, so I can count on it until the expiration date?
So, I make the bid, the seller accepts, and I accept your bid and pay you.
He might need a couple of days to get it ready, then I notify you that it's ready and tell you where to pick it up and drop it off.
The you pick it up, ship it and drop it off.
Do I have it right? I don't want surprises, particularly if they cost extra.
Dates are very flexible, even a few weeks won't matter. (4/8/2009)

Response: Hello, yes. The seller can notify when is ready. We travel to the area about every 2 weeks. No additional cost. Thank you.
(4/8/2009)

Response: OK, you are best overall, so I will probably go with you if I win the auction.
IF, that is, we can work out some schedule problems.
I doubt that it can be ready for the dates you list, so I guess its two weeks or so out. That's OK.
I also doubt that I will know before your bid expires.
Can you do your bid over, to extend the dates as above? Pickup next trip, about 3 weeks? Extend bid for 10 days more to 4/24 or so?
Ed (4/8/2009)

Response: Yes, thank you. (4/8/2009)

Question: Hello, the driver will be traveling thru AR. this afternoon. Good day. (4/9/2009)

Response: Thank you.
The seller has not answered any emails. I think he does emails after work. I do not have his phone number.
So, let me know the approximate date of the next run, and we will work for that. I will accept the bid as soon as I have the information on the pickup address.
Two weeks is 4/23. Is it regular? -or just approximate?
If, by some miracle, I get hold of him, how late can you accept the order for today? Is the driver going through Royal anyway? It looks like it's on the main road through Hot Springs.
Ed
(4/9/2009)

Response: Hello, I could pickup within 5 days, if pickup can be made today. Otherwise we travel to AR., about every 2 to 3 weeks. This afternoon. The truck has not arrive in AR. yet. The driver is not going through Royal. Thank you.
(4/9/2009)

Response: I have not heard from the seller yet, so we can all relax and plan on doing it on your next trip.
Once I know the pickup address, I will accept your bid. This is my first time with UShip, so I am feeling my way, but I assume that I cannot go further without knowing the pickup address.
Thank you,
Ed (4/9/2009)

Question: Hello, I can pickup in about 2 or 3 days. Thank you. (4/9/2009)

Response: I haven't heard from the seller.
I guess it's my fault, I told him that there is no hurry. So now that I am itching to get it, I have only myself to blame.
It's Easter weekend, it's possible that he's off somewhere.
So, I guess we just have to wait and relax. If it's not in the next 2 or 3 days, it can be in the nest 2 or 3 weeks.
Ed (4/9/2009)

Response: Thank you. (4/9/2009)
