Questions for this shipment:

Question: Can these pieces be loaded onto a flatbed out in the yard from the side of the trailer? Thank you. (8/20/2007)
Response: Yes, they certainly can and that the perfect way to haul them! Thanks for asking, Lyle Kent (8/20/2007)
Response: If you have your confirmed weights, that will keep us both out of trouble. Thank you. (8/20/2007)
Response: I do have confirmed weights 1) 3323 lbs and 2) 748 lbs and have spoke with the wrecking company and we can get this on your rig and to standard. But I see you have cancelled your bid. I need pick-up in the next three days anyway. Thanks (8/20/2007)
Question: Any hurry on getting them picked up? Thank you. (8/20/2007)
Question: If you have a way to load them into the back of a truck, I'm hauling an rv out to p[ortland area and will thru that area tomorrow, we would be glad to pick them up. (8/20/2007)
Response: I think a flat-bed is really needed for this job. I am not comfortable with it going in a pick-up. Thanks, Though (8/20/2007)
Question: Do you still require transport? Thanks (9/7/2007)
Response: Yes, Lyle (9/7/2007)
Response: Hello Lyle ~ Thank you for your quick response. I live in Northern California and will be transporting into San Diego on Monday then down to Dallas, I thought I could pick up your Engine/Transmission on my way home, most probably on Thursday, delivery most likely on Saturday. I usually spend the night in Ft. Stockton at the Super 8........as for restaurants your town sucks! If the time table would work for you I will place a formal bid. Transport would be on a Gooseneck Flatbed. Thanks ~ Dee (9/7/2007)
Response: Hi Dee, A gooseneck trailer will work. Do you have heavy duty straps and/or chain binders? The only challenge I see may be the engine. This engine and trans was abandoned in FT Sockton by a previous uship service providor who lost the undersized trailer he was using to move this item on. The pallet the engine was on is ruined. It may take some creative load securement to get the engine secure on your trailer. It was left at a wrecking yard who has the means to load it onto your trailer. I bet he also has other items that could be used to stabilize the engine...other pallets, junk tires etc. Your timing will work. I really got the shaft by the last uship person...do you have insurance? Ohh I might have a cradle you could place the engine in if you came through Oakland empty on your way to San Diego. I am actualy here in Oakland...tons of great restaurants here....I would be happy if I never FT Stockton again in my life! (9/7/2007)
Response: Have chains, binders, soft straps, pallet. Have no insurance claims against me; all transports arrive safely. Review my profile at your leasure. As for a quote....you have really had some difficulty with this transport, did you report your problem to uShip? Did you get a refund? What do you have remaining in your budget for this transport? Will try to accomodate you. (9/7/2007)
Response: You sound qualified. I did report my previous nightmare to Uship many times and got no answer and no refund. The service providor claimed the weights were wrong.... they were digital scale weights before the shipment left Houston. So I guess my only concern now would be the Series 60 engine may need to be laid on its side. This is ok if it it is done correctly and cusioned or blocked so it does not damage the turbo or ECM. I have $600 towards shipping this to Oakland. Otherwise the engin rebuilder I use in Tuscon will pick it up the next time they are through. Ohh the story get better...the wrecker who hauled off the budget trailer they were trying to use held this shipment ransom becuase they did not pay him. That cost me another $700. He is worthy of note Lyle (9/7/2007)
