Description: Cannon on wood wheeled carriage.

Length: 6 ft 6 in.

Packaging: Not packed. Some small accessories in cardboard box. Easy to move by one person on its wheeled carriage and to load or unload with a ramp.

Special Handling Instructions: Needs to be inside vehicle and covered with furniture pads to protect paint.

Additional Information: Must have very good feedback and insurance for $6,500 US$! We have a customs broker standing by to clear it in at our cost.

I have a 3/4 ton GMC truck with open box. We can wrap the canon with blankets and a tarp. I happen to be vacationing in New Orleans until Friday feb 17. I would be able to swing by and pickup the canon and take it back with me to Canada. Would this be suitable with the shipper?

Have you checked with Canada Customs to ensure that this item is able to clear the border? Is all of the paperwork ready for import into Canada. Hauling an item like this means enclosed service, completely secure, fully insured and not as a overloaded trailer with other loads in order to keep the price down.

Response: We have shipped several cannons just like this to Canada and also from there. Also, this has been purchased by a Canadian City Government and they are setting up the importing now.2/19/2012

Response: : Does the cannon disassemble or does it need to be shipped intact? This will determine if I drop my trailer at one point to transport by 1 ton truck or I bring the trailer with me. Most cannons disassemble, cannon from carriage, then off go the wheels. Is this the same or are does you or the purchaser want the cannon shipped intact. This is a delicate cargo, the bronze is highly polished and nothing can be anywhere near it. Insurance, taxes, fuel and the loss of space due to the nature of the cargo all add up. Please answer these questions so I can proceed with my quote. Yes I ask alot of questions, I want to ensure that all bases are covered. Response: : Is the ORIGINAL bill of sale ready at this time and has all of the documents been processed to clear customs? The broker would need to know what border crossing the shipment will be coming through and when. There is a 72 hour window once the documents have been processed. Response: : Hi Ed, my estimate would come in at the $1975.00 mark. This is based on a one way trip only although we would be heading to the pickup location empty. This haul will only be possible as a shared load for me and only if my primary haul bid is accepted. I have a bid in play right now that will land me in Marion, Indiana. We would come and pick up the cannon before we continue on to pick up the trailer that is headed back to Canada. This is for an insured load, $6500 coverage as you have requested. Response: : Ed, I am trying to contact a hauler that I worked with before who is US based in the Marion Ind. region. If he can pick the item up and bring it to the MB/ND border I will transfer the load from him and make this happen for you. My bid should remain close to the same. Insurance levels and blanket wrap of all 4 parts of the cannon will of course stay the same. I have a haul lined up from Winnipeg that this would make the ideal time to transfer loads. I will contact you with an update once I hear back from the US hauler. This would be one bid for the item, all inclusive of all charges save for any customs related issues.
