Hello, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. We have submitted a quote for your shipment. See "View Bid Details" for information, mahalo (A2EI1C5TOG)Report a Violation
Response: Aloha William, Thanks for your earlier bid. I did not accept it yet because I am not sure of my departure date (I'm still working on a project in Bellevue, even though I have moved out of my rented cottage, so I'm staying with friends in the meantime). Since I know the fuel surcharge is going up frequently, I requested that you re-bid to account for this increase. I think there might be a little variance on this, but I'm pretty sure the total volume would be a 10 x 10 x 10 cube made up of smaller packed moving boxes, and maybe 4,500 pounds? Also, do you have a dealership that you would recommend for preparing a motorcycle for shipment in the Seattle area? Mahalo, and mahalow also for your earlier time and clear information, Patrick7/11/2008Report a Violation
Response: Hi Patrick, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. No problem on the quote. I will resubmit another quote for your boxed personal/household goods. About the bike, I have shipped a couple of bikes to Downtown Harley Davidson for customers that moved from here in Honolulu to Seattle.. You might want to contact them to se if they would prep & crate your bike. You will need to get the smallest crate for your bike to keep your shipping charges down for the port-to-port charges will be based on cubic feet. You will need to post your motorcycle here on U-Ship so that I can place a bid on it also. Let me know if you have any other questions by contacting me here on U-Ship, mahalo.7/11/2008Report a Violation
Response: Hi William, I'd like to see if my schedule and anticipated method of putting the boxed household goods works with you before accepting your bid. I'd like to load up a U-Haul with the goods and take it to your facility (thus avoiding trucking costs, which I understand can be large to Bainbridge Island), and load the shipping container either at your facility, or at one you could designate, presumably somewhere at or near the docks either in Seattle or Tacoma. I'd like to do this on Tuesday afternoon, July 22nd. I have contacted KGM Assemblers in Kent, and they will crate my motorcycle, and will forklift it into the U-Haul. I could then talk with you on Tuesday about a bid for including the motorcycle in the shipment when we would both see the dimensions of the crated motorcycle, which should be at that point about 500 pounds. Would this work for you? Mahalo, Patrick7/18/2008Report a Violation
Response: Hi Patrick, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. Thanks for writing back. If you want you can drop your shipment off. The drop off point is there Seattle. Sorry, I am not able to list here per U-Ship's rules. The trucking for your personal/ house hold goods is approximately $190. With the motorcycle being picked up at the same location with your personal / house hold goods is approximately $215. I will need the dimensions (L x W x H) of the crate of the bike also when you can. I am not sure where the motorcycle dealership is but they might deliver it to the dock for you. The dealerships I work with here in Hawaii do this for my customers when they are shipping their bikes to the mainland. Let me know what you want to do. I will set up everything accordingly, mahalo7/18/2008Report a Violation
(Cont'd) The charges to ship your motorcycle would be approximately $1,400. Yeah, I know. If you can get your motorcycle in a small crate then your charges will be less. You have trucking, ocean freight, fuel surcharge and a $215 "hazardous surcharge fee" added by the ocean freight carrier. No way in getting around it. This amount does not include crating & prepping your motorcycle either. You will have to pay the motorcycle dealership directly for this. Let me know if you want to proceed in shipping the motorcycle by listing it here on U-Ship. We will submit a quote then here on U-Ship then, mahalo.Report a Violation
