Question: Hi, you have two listings: are they different or same shipment? Steve (9/6/2009)

Response: Same shipment. Thanks. (9/8/2009)

Response: Got it! I could provide a bid of $350, your max if going to Port Chester. It would be a bit more, maybe $50 if going to Portland, ME. Thanks! Steve (9/8/2009)

Response: Would that include insurance? Also, what is your schedule? I'm going to be in LA 9/15-9/20, would pickup around the 20th be a possibility? (9/8/2009)

Response: Hi, pick-up would probably be the 18/19th, which is a Friday/Saturday. I rent through budget and do insure the cargo while in transit. I would be happy to provide this info for you at pick-up. Any idea on a destination? Steve (9/8/2009)

Response: I'd do the Portland, Maine dropoff. If we did a 19th pickup, when would the items get to Portland? Thanks! (9/9/2009)

Response: Hi, I am sorting out final details with folks that I have confirmed with already. If I picked up on the 19th I would plan to be in Portland by the 25th of September. I will know exact dates tomorrow, Friday, and place a formal bid then. Steve (9/10/2009)

Response: Any progress? (9/14/2009)

Response: Yes, I am going to be departing LA on the 25/26 and arrival on the east coast by the 5th of October. In Venice, is the pick-up street large enough for a moving truck? STeve (9/14/2009)

Response: yes. 1. can you stop by this week to review what i've got; and 2. are you licensed/insured/bonded? thanks! (9/14/2009)

Response: I am currently in the process of getting these certificates, DOT/ETC. As I said the cargo will be insured while on the truck, in case of accident on the road. I will not know until the end of the month whether I am able to get my personal insurance set up. Steve (9/14/2009)

Response: Would you be able to come to Venice on Wednesday or Thurs to look over shipment? (9/14/2009)

Question: Can you explain the two listings for the same shipment with different destinations? Thanks, Rob TheMovingCompany (9/9/2009)

Response: What is the price to the two destinations? I've got a lot of flexibility on timing and can go to either, but would prefer Portland, ME. (9/15/2009)

Response: I still don't understand what is needed. Are all the items going to either one and not the other destination, or are are they being split up and need delivering to both? When I know that I'll know the rate. I'm looking for things on a trip to Bangor, Maine in a a few weeks but I could pick up the items now. Rob TheMovingCompany (9/15/2009)

Response: All items go to one location, and I'd prefer that they go to Portland, ME--this could work well.
1) Are you licenses/bonded?
2) What insurance do you have for the items?
3) Can you come by to look at pickup?
4) What is range of dates for pickup and delivery?
Thanks!
Ashley (9/15/2009)

Response: I would bid for taking them to Portland, ME. Yes we are licensed and insured. I can't come by to look at the items until a bid is accepted because USHIP does not allow that kind of info to be exchanged until a bid is accepted. Pick up would be in the next two days, and delivery would be the first week in October. Thanks, Rob TheMovingCompany (9/16/2009)

Response: Ok, that all sounds good. Last question: do you have blanket wrap or adequate packing for the TV? What is the bid? (9/16/2009)

Response: Yes, we have many blankets. Bid to Maine would be $380. Thanks, Rob TheMovingCompany (9/16/2009)

Response: Ok, as long as that includes insurance door to door of $5k. Thanks again, and let's set a meet once I accept the bid.
Ashley (9/16/2009)

Response: Thanks for the note. Is there something that requires special handling? If there is an item that is particularly delicate or valuable it will need to be repacked. No moving company insurance will cover an item like this that the mover doesn't inspect or pack themselves (though very rarely they will still cover it if the package has obvious external damage). If that were the case people could just ship broken items and make a claim once they arrive, and the service provider will have never seen the item to say if it was intact before shipping. So while insurance is included any valuable items in sealed boxes will need to be professionally repacked, or at least inspected. If any shipper does not do this you will almost certainly not be able to make a successful claim even if they have insurance, regardless of what they tell you. Thanks, Rob TheMovingCompany (9/16/2009)

Response: The only valuable thing is the 60" DLP TV. It weighs 100 lbs and needs to stay upright. Can you handle? (9/16/2009)

Response: Yes, no problem. I can pick up this week, today (Thursday) if you need it, and I'll be in Maine around the end of the month. The delay is due to having to wait about a week for a shipment in New Mexico. Bid would be $380. Thanks, Rob TheMovingCompany (9/17/2009)
