Response: Thanks for the question. The boat & trailer were just reweighed on a weigh bridge, and the total combined weight of the boat and trailer is just a little over 3,000 US pounds (not metric). I have purchased a 50mm ball in the UK which is coming over with the boat, along with a new wheel and tire, and metric lug nut wrench. The new hitch ball (again, 50mm) is of similar type to the US ball, with a threaded shank for simple bolting onto a hitch tongue or directly to the bumper by simply dropping it though the existing hole you have (after you remove your existing US size ball) and using the nut and lock washer that is with the new UK ball. The UK ball is a metric size so you have to use its nut & washer. feel free to ask any other questions and refer to the picture for a good perspective. Thanks again! Rundimun (9/23/2007)

Response: The latest update on the shipping, as of yesterday (from the boat transport company in the UK) is that the shipment should arrive at the Port of Baltimore on or about October 18 October, 2007. They had been confused on the date and originally told me the ship would come into the port on the 29th. Again, it is now due to arrive on or about the 18th. (9/27/2007)
