Question: Hello - when would you like to ship Lola? I am planning on visiting family in Erlangen/Nuremberg within the next 4-6 weeks - will need direct flight, so need to leave out of Charlotte - would you be willing/able to pick up in Frankfurt or do you need her brought to Schweinfurt? (2/2/2009)

Response: Hey Michael, we need to ship her anytime after March 1st. The reason that we couldn't take her is due to the fact that her shots weren't 30 days old, so the usda wouldn't sign off on her health certificate. So by March 1st, she will be ready. We could easily pick her up at Frankfurt. Let me know more when you get more info, thanks Michael. (2/3/2009)

Response: Goodness - I just spent over two hours with numerous more or less helpful airline agents - and shipping a dog seems to have become more difficult than moving a nuclear warhead! Last time I flew ATL --> FRA, it was $140/ 60lb dog one way - now it is $350(LH) or $550(Delta)- ugghh! OK, we have to use LH (and not a flight operated by USAirways- that's the flights into FRA, but they don't ship dogs on transatlantic flights...), so we have to fly CLT--> Munich (LH non-stop). They go by weight of dog AND size of kennel, so the one you have is #3, and that would be $350 one way - crazy!! If we can get Lola into a #2 kennel, it will be $200 , but she has to be able to fully stand up and turn around in it. How tall is she standing? Can the folks in Rutherfordton go to PetSmart and put her into a #2 crate and see if she will fit? Would they be willing to bring her to the airport in CLT, or do I have to pick her up from their home? Can you get her in Munich? It's probably a~3.5hr drive for you. (2/5/2009)

Response: Oh yes we know what you just went through!!!! Did you try United...they seemed to be the only airline that didn't charge an arm and a leg to ship an animal. My parents have Lola so they will be the ones to meet you in Charlotte(that is no problem). As far as putting Lola in the smaller Kennel...we won't know until it gets closer to the time of departure. She is going to be a big girl and I doubt in 4-6 weeks she would be able to fit into the smaller one. As far as picking her up in Munich that is also not a problem. Thank you so much for looking into this, and let us know if we could be of any help.

Response: Hi Jen & Scotty, did check, United also wants $200 for a dog in a 32 kennel, and $350 for all other sizes - all the same gangsters! Will place a bid, hope to be able to get "Lola" to you shortly! (2/16/2009)

Response: Oh man, that is great news! Thank you so much Michael! We'll be waiting for the bid and details. Hope to hear from ya soon. (2/16/2009)
