Anna's Piano Move
  • Studio
  • 4 ft 11 in.
  • 2 ft 1 in.
  • 3 ft 8 in.
  • 430 lbs
  • Yes
Piano will go from first floor of a single family home with no stairs involved to an apartment building with an elevator. The elevator is small so the piano MAY have to be set on its side to get it into the elevator.
Additional Information: I apologize for relisting - the weight was incorrect on the last listing, so I have updated that. The weight is between 420 and 450 lbs. I can fit the bench in my car. More information and photos of the type of piano can be found here (the piano is a Charles Walter): http://www.walterpiano.com/pianos/studio-pianos/ Report a Violation

Question:
7/1/2013
Hi, are dimensions correct? Is this an upright piano? There are no steps at pickup or delivery? How close can I park to the piano at pickup and to the elevator at delivery? Once off of the elevator at delivery how far does the piano have to go? Is there any help one either end or how many laborers do you need a price for and on which end? Thank you.Report a Violation
Response: Hi, Yes, the dimensions should be correct. It is an upright piano. There are no steps if you go out the front door at pickup, and I believe the piano is about 20 feet from the front door, and the front door to the driveway is another 20 or 30 feet. The piano is on casters though (it should be able to roll easily). There is a ramp at the delivery location, so no stairs there either. The distance from the unloading ramp and the elevators is maybe 20 feet, and once off the elevator, the apartment is about 50 feet down the hallway. I don't know how much the piano weighs, but it's a Charles R. Walter studio: http://www.walterpiano.com/pianos/studio-pianos/?walterpiano=e9b0df86f3eba447e564d77d70c9f1fb I may be able to help on both ends, but I've never moved a piano before. I'm guessing it's a 2 person job. How much would it cost to have one laborer on each end, and how much would it cost to have 2? Thanks, Anna7/1/2013Not in Violation
Response: Depending on the timing I can beat your bid and provide a second laborer on each end. If I had to provide two additional laborers to my self (3 counting me) I would not be able to beat your current bid. Are you ready to accept a bid? Thank you.7/1/2013Report a Violation
Response: I think my auction is over very soon - just wanted to let you know in case you still wanted to make a bid. If you don't think you'll be able to make an offer, no worries. Question:
7/1/2013
How flexible are pickup and delivery dates? Thank you.Report a Violation
Response: To answer your previous question, I've only gotten one bid so far, so I'm not ready to accept it yet. I believe I'm supposed to have until July 11th to pick one. My ship date is very flexible - it just has to be no earlier than August. 7/1/2013Report a Violation
Response: Just let me know when you're ready. I won't leave a bid out that long because it's keeps me from bidding on other shipments. Thank you.7/1/2013Report a Violation
Response: I think I'm getting closer to making a decision. Would you be able to let me know what your price would be, and leave the bid open for another day or so (not until the 11th)? Thank you.7/2/2013Report a Violation
Response: Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I won't leave it out a whole day as it hinders me from bidding on other shipments. How flexible is the move date? You want a price for a second laborer at both pickup and delivery, correct? I should be able to beat your other bids. Thank you.7/2/2013Report a Violation
Response: Hi, I am making a decision on the piano move today. I had to re-list it because the weight was incorrect in the first posting. Were you still interested in making a bid? Thanks! Anna7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: Yes I am interested. What dates are available for pickup and what about delivery? Is there help loading and/or unloading or do you need a price for a second laborer on either end? Thank you.7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: The date would need to be the first week in August (8/1-8/7), and I am pretty sure you would need a second person on the pick-up end. I can help on the drop-off end, but I have never moved a piano before and don't know what is involved. Have you shipped pianos before? And will it be in a closed truck or on an open trailer? Thanks7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: Hi, yes I have. It will be enclosed out of the weather. It will be blanket wrapped and secured with soft straps. Are you strong enough to lift your end of the piano? Thank you.7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: No, probably not. I weigh 110 lbs, and I think the piano is about 430 lbs. Do you have a ramp?7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: So you need a price for a second laborer at both pickup and delivery locations, correct? A ramp for what? There are no steps at either pickup or delivery, right? Thank you.7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: Correct - no steps at pick up or delivery, just door thresholds that are slightly raised. I figured a ramp would be useful for getting the piano into your van (assuming the van doesn't already have one). If you can find someone else who can help lift a 430+ lb piano, that works too. I just really don't want it to be dropped or fall over...7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: Are dimensions correct? Is this an upright piano? How close can I park from the piano at pickup and delivery? Please describe from piano to parking at pickup and delivery locations. Thank you.7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: The dimensions should be correct. It is upright (i.e. not a grand piano), but it is called a studio. This is the piano: http://www.walterpiano.com/pianos/studio-pianos/ The piano is about 20-30 feet from the front door at pick-up, and maybe another 30 feet to where you can park the van. There is a loading dock at delivery which is about 10 feet from the entrance door. The elevator is about 10-15 feet from the entrance door(s) (there are two doors to go through to enter the building). I am on the 5th floor of a high rise, and my apartment is probably 50 feet down the hall from the elevator. The hallway is carpeted. The house at pick-up has hardwood floors. The piano is on casters. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks.7/16/2013Not in Violation
Question:

Hey Kerry... would a July 17th or 18th pickup and delivery work well for you? If so... please let me know. Adam - AddmansReport a Violation
Response: Hi, I would really prefer to do the move between August 1 and August 10th. I might be able to do a weekend in July, but only if you think that would be significantly less expensive. Thanks! Anna7/1/2013Report a Violation
Response: Unfortunately... the only days I have available are the 17th and 18th... on the up side... I can offer two hands and a van for 200 dollars. If you have any questions or comments... please feel free to let me know. Adam 7/1/2013Report a Violation

7/8/2013
Do you still need this shipping?? I have a route headed to NC next week and could pickup your piano on the way back to MD.... Thanks...Chad-CW CourierReport a Violation
Response: Hi, Thanks for asking. I can't have the piano shipped before early August, so I don't think next week will work. I'm also still trying to find out whether I'm even allowed to have a piano in my current high rise building (I was told yes, then maybe...). If all goes well, I'm hoping to have it shipped between August 1-10th. Thanks! Anna7/9/2013Report a Violation
Response: I can do it at that time as well... My company is based in MD... Chad-CW Courier7/9/2013Report a Violation

Response: So, did you still want to work something out on this one?? I can get down there within a week for pickup and deliver... ?? Chad-CW Courier7/15/2013Report a Violation
Response: Hi, I am still interested. The pick-up and delivery would need to be in the first week in August (8/1-8/7). I think you'd need a second person to help on the pick-up end, but I can help on the delivery side. I have never moved a piano though, and I don't know what is involved. Have you moved a piano before? And could you tell me if you'll be using a closed truck or an open trailer? Thanks. Anna I think you'd need a ramp, too. I don't think I can lift one side of the piano.7/16/2013Report a Violation
Response: We can book now and I will plan for that time. I am based in Westminster, MD and come to VA a few times a month and can work with this schedule... Chad-CW Courier7/16/2013Report a Violation
