Can YOU (or whomever is on the shipping end) get this palletized or boxed or crated? – If so I’ll give you a great shipping rate – We can’t touch your item if loose – nor do we offer any packaging services - Andy with American Group Shipping Report a Violation
Response: Andy - I Tried to get him to box it, but no success. Sorry, Dick6/24/2011Report a Violation

Question:

HI: I've carried one of these hard tops (for a Mercedes 450 sl) to Salem. Built a rack for it in my truck so it would ride clear of the wheel wells. I'd give you the guys # if I bid and you accepted. Can't look at this now - too late and I've a busy day tomorrow (putting hydraulic lifters in / adjusting the valves etc.). But tomorrow night I'll take a good look at this and be in touch. MichaelReport a Violation
Response: Hi Michael - Sounds great. The top is not in Bakersfield. The person that is keeping it for me is near there. There is no huge hurry. He is moving on the 30th but will give me new location. You let me know what you need to firm up a bid. Dick6/29/2011Report a Violation
Response: : HI - just got back from 22hrs straight working on my truck (lifters had to b replaced) so I'm exhaustyed. I'll look at this later today. Michael6/30/2011Report a Violation
Response: This listing is about up. I have to figure out a way to extend it. I have a new zip code for pick up. 91342 Sylmar CA. The person who has the top will work with anyone and I will give his phone #. I will meet you on I-5 anywhere in Oregon if you normally would not go as far a Salem. The top is pretty light and doesn't need a bunch of packaging. Just tied down good with a shipping blanket to protect. 6/30/2011Report a Violation
Response: : I am having most difficult time getting a note to you - it keeps crashing. So I'm doing it in stages. Part 1: Hi: Sylmar's a bit out of the way but fine for pickup nevertheless. And since I do door-to-door I'd bring your Allante top to you in Salem anyway (I'm going to at least Portland). I was planning to leave tonight - but I'll wait till tomorrow (Saturday noon to 2pm would probably be more convenient then 3am for your man in Sylmar right?). Someone else by the way (off a different source) wanted a top like yours brought North. But I've lost his number - so the space is yours if you want it (along with the increase in cost to compensate for uShip’s charge). Perhaps it's coincidental but this is the second car-top I'll have brought to Salem from LA - the last was for a Mercedes 450 SL (you’ll have his number to call for a reference when we finally speak directly – which happens AFTER you accept my bid). Question:
7/1/2011
Part 2: Anyway – last time I did this I actually built a rack to suspend these things over my truck-bed's wheel-wells (it was either that or build a wood frame to hold the top vertical in my trailer). Tops therefore travel safely - no chips / dings from road crap. We'd need to work on money though… First, I get paid up front (a convenient way for this exists if you trust your man in Sylmar to get it to me – but we will need to discuss that when we talk on the phone: Again: uShip rules). DON’T ACCEPT MY BID IF PAYING UP FRONT IS UNACCEPTABLE. References - and you’ll have plenty BEFORE your money leaves your hand - will tell you I am VERY honest, and that my word is a bond I don't break. As for the bid itself? What you see is required to compensate me for time and gas – and compensate uShip for their technology - which put us together. End of part -2 Michael PS: OBVIOUSLY, If you want me to do this, you need to respond quickly.Report a Violation
Question:
7/2/2011
Hi: Thank you for the response - and your questions. uShip limits my response to you to 1,000 characters so my response had to be "concise". I'll expand a bit more on these questions here. Sorry I mixed up Portland with Dallas. Had Portland heavy on my mind because of the two other freights heading there. I will do Door to Door as stated, anyway - to Dallas - just have your phone at the ready so you can guide me to your door once I get off 99. Also, on my references: I have many numbers coded as such in my phone - though one I suspect you'd be most interested in is the Mercedes top I delivered (from LA like yours) to Salem. You will have that as soon as we talk. Doing the money-up-front thing "in a timely manner" is not a problem, really (but again, we must talk about this when we talk on the phone). Hope that helps. Please use the "ASK BIDDER A QUESTION" button in your e-mail for more questions [?s]. uShip's suppose to ring my phone to tell me you have a ? when you do. MicReport a Violation
Response: Mic - I accepted your bid. How do we talk? Forget 99 - way too slow. Take I-5 to salem. Take 22 to Dallas. You get close, I guide you in or meet and convoy. No problem. Dick7/2/2011Report a Violation
Question:
7/2/2011
By the way: My bid is set to expire at 5pm so you need to work on this today (I have no way to extend it - I'd have to rebid. But by then I'm on the road heading north). Please: If you feel the price is fair accept my bid as soon as possible. There are still many things to do for me (map locations; contact every body; set the timing, etc.). I can't be doing all that with only 5 minutes to spare. And I GOT TO LEAVE no later then tomorrow or I screw up people who have put their faith in me - something I won't do. In other words, it's now or never. Look: You are protected. uShip knows I won't hold people accountable until references have been properly checked. uShip would re-instate your add without blackmarks if you decided you wanted out after you accepted my bid. So this works for you regardless. If you want this top (and you know the price is fair) please "accept" now so we we can get the show on the road (and thanks for the work if I get it).
