Response: Tony, are you aware of BC law on the boat trailer? If trailer has a GVW of 5500# or more it can't just be a surge brake system. It must either be electric brakes or electric over hydraulic. Some BC residents aren't aware of this until they go registar the trailer. CBSA doesn't tell you this when you go through customs. Not sure what the rating on your trailer is or what type of brake set up there is but I thought I would put that out there. Also a broker would be needed to handle paperwork,gst, & pst tax.
