Question: Hello. We can pick up today PM. Fully insured. wrapped, secured. Delivery in 5-6 days, maybe earlier. 725 total. Thank you. Alex. (4/17/2009)

Response: The paintings weren't ready in time for your truck. Next time? (4/26/2009)

Response: Hi, nowits going to be May 7th... you OK with that? (4/26/2009)

Response: I don't see a bid from Rising Star Transport. Please bid so I can see price and terms. Include insurance on 9 paintings totalling $18,000.00 ($2,000.00 each).
Thanks!
Warren (4/28/2009)

Response: Hi. What packaging material you prefere? I can post my bid any min. Alex. (4/28/2009)

Response: The best protection for paintings might be wooden crate, but others have suggested mirror/picture cartons and bubble wrap.
Bottom line is that paintings must arrive in perfect condition and no insurance claims or issues resulting from inadequate packaging and protection.
Each painting will cost me $2,000. Total insurance for all nine paintings needs to be $18,000, so please include that in quote.
Thanks! Warrwn (4/28/2009)

Response: Hi Warren. I placed a bid that includes everything, packing, loading, insurance, paintings preserving enviroment controll, gentel delivery and handling. Insurance sertificate and paperwork will be submitted up on bid acceptance. May 7th Sharp pick up, delivery as stated 5-7 days sharp. I keep my word and schedule of stops. We going to load more antique furniture in Chicago, that heading to Malibu. Thank you. Alex. (4/28/2009)

Response: I am working with the artist to make sure the paintings will be ready in time.
HOW WILL YOU PACK THE NINE 3' by 3' PAINTINGS? Will they be protected in a wooden crate? If not, how? Please be specific.
Thanks!
Warren Jason (4/29/2009)

Response: Hi. I wish I had my pics with me from moving one gallery in San Francisco. OK. most important thing is, when we load items such as this, they are not to be moved before we get to its original destination. It is no storaging or any reloading, so crating it with hard wood or plastic crates wont be needed. However, boxes that we use are pretty strong and durable. On the bottom we put humidity controll unit or substance( in case of rain for cpl of days) even if its inside of trailer, humid gets to frame and surface or if temperature changes you get same effect. So that will keep the air in box absolutely moisture free. Bubble wrapp or mickro bublewrap will be used to wrap around the frame. Individual from all sides and they go back to back 2or3 fames per box. No pressure. Boxes will be sealed and placed up top on the deck. Strapped to the wall and we make sure that nothing gets close to it with in 2-3 ft.I want to make sure that you will get you paintings and not just a check for damages. (4/30/2009)

Response: Thanks for all the clarification. It's very reassuring. The artist will be there when you pick up the paintings to make sure she is happy with the packing, placement, etc. Her name is Ellen Baer.
She requires that I send her roof of the $18,000 "all risk" insurance before closing our deal. That's $2,000 per painting for 9 paintings.
I will go accept your bid right now.
Thanks,
Warren (4/30/2009)

Question: hello, we have a truck 04/28-04/29 in MD, delivery in CA around 05/15, will it work ? (4/26/2009)

Response: Unfortunately not. The artist wants to touch-up the paintings, so they won't be ready in time for 4/29/09. (4/28/2009)

Response: ok, thanks (4/28/2009)

Response: You're welcome. Take care! (4/29/2009)

Question: If you are wishing us to transport your artwork....I need to know now. We will only be in the area another 2-3 hours. Thanks, Brent (4/26/2009)

Response: Sorry I missed your truck. The artist wasn't ready to ship yet and wants to touch-up a few of the pieces. When is the next opportunity for my shipment? (4/28/2009)

Response: I will be out on the road for at least a month. I am returning to your general area at the end of June, but right now I do not have anything scheduled for West Coast on that trip, but I will keep you in mind. Each trip we have done so far has included east coast first then to west coast before completion. Thanks, and I will let you know. Please just keep the listing open so I know how to contact you. Good Luck, Brent (4/28/2009)

Response: OK, Brent, thanks! (4/28/2009)

Question: We can do this for $400 door to door, each painting will be bubble wrapped and placed in a cardboard box with wrapping chips, then sealed, two boxes would be adequate, our insurance does not cover items such as these, and why my bid would be so low is so that you could buy 3rd party insurance via Uship as this is a service they offer. (4/29/2009)

Response: What are "wrapping chips"? I see you have extensive motor vehicle experience. What about fine art? I'm worried that a bike might crush my paintings. (4/29/2009)

Response: If you read through our profile we have moved quite a few paintings and furniture and the boxes containing the atr would travel in the overhead goose neck area of the trailer which does not have bikes in, its an area 6ft by 8ft by 3ft all on its own. (4/29/2009)

Response: I did not see that information about paintings in your profile. Sorry. I'm not sure how you propose to pack the paintings. They are not packed or crated. They need to be protected. Thanks. (4/29/2009)

Response: I can direct you to them if required, the paintings would be wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in packing boxes along with packing chips (Styrofoam chips) then sealed and put as previously mentioned in the overhead section of a goose neck trailer. (4/29/2009)

Response: Thanks for the clarification. That helps.
I can't find any reference to buying insurance on the uShip Web site. If you can assist me with that, it would be great.
ALSO, when would you pick up and deliver the paintings?
Please bid the job via the uShip Web page.
Best, Warren
(4/29/2009)

Response: If you can bear with me for an hour I will go to a local packing store and ascertain the exact cost of the packing boxes we require, are the paintings measurements exact and all the same ? and are the frames wood , metal or none (just the canvas) (4/29/2009)

Response: All NINE paintings are the same size (as in my listing). They are oil paintings. Tpical canvas on wood stretchers. The paintings are unframed.
Where did you get the insurance quote? I need to follow up with that. When are you leaving MD and arriving in So CA? (4/29/2009)
