Additional Information: 873F bobcat skid loader engine runs but the hydrostatic portion is unsafe to drive. Unit is located in a stone quary in Grove town Ga. The seller will load the machine on to a open trailer with a crane. I need someone with a trailer that has either ramps so the machine can be skidded off or a crane to lift it off.Once the machine arrives at its final destination I will assist with the off loading. I need an hour to disable the machine to make it freewheel, I also need a 24, 12 and 1 hr notice before ariving at the final destination to make arangments to be there. Machine is 74" wide, 80" with the bucket but can be removed if it does not fit on a trailer. Report a Violation

Questions for this shipment:

Question: Does the quarry have a large forklift capable of setting the bobcat in the back end of a enclosed semi trailer? If not is there a problem with putting it on with a tiltbed wrecker? (4/6/2007)
Response: no mention of a fork lift, besides I would need a ramp to unload, a tilt bed wrecker would be better only for the fact it could be rolled off when it gets hear. (4/7/2007)
Question: We have 16000 lb split ramps 18' long. But with bad hydraulics we wouldn't want to take it down them. Whealons will put it down with a tiltbed wrecker in Fond du lac for $100. If the yard has a forklift capable of picking it and setting it on the back of our trailer(which it should) that would save wrecker costs in Georgia. Our bid would be $975 if we do not need a wrecker in Georgia. We have truck in Ga & FL on 4/16 to 4/19 back to fdl by weekend. Delivery would be week of the 23rd. If you need to disable it you could do it in our yard at your convience. Thank you for your consideration. (4/7/2007)
Response: are you planning on putting this in a van trailer or open flat bed? I'll call the yard to see if they have a fork lift heavy enough, They do have a crane that they said they could pick it up and set it on a trailer. what would be the cost just to haul it to Whealons, once there I could pick it up with my trailer? (4/8/2007)
Question: We only have enclosed vans. Whealons is $75-100 at thier shop or yours. Does this machine move at all? Does it have brakes? chances are we can take it off and put it on your trailer right in our yard. we have a concrete forklift ramp and tilt bed trailer but no winch or cables to lower it so without brakes it would come down fast. price of $875 without use of wreckers. thanks for your consideration DuFrane. (4/9/2007)
Response: I'll check with the yard to see if they have a big enough fork lift to load it in your trailer. The machine does move, they claim it moves on its own when started and is unsafe, they never looked to see what was wrong with the unit. I fixed one of these late last year that did the same thing, once you started it it would turn hard to the right but if you knew it was comming you could control it. I find it hard to believe that its that unsafe, I would think if a person just tried it before they loaded it to see how it responds in an open area it would be ok, if it was that unpredictable you could just shut if off. There are no brakes on theses units they are hydrostatic so if they are not running they wont move. They only worry I have is if the person picking up the machine is not familiar with the controls they might hit and damage the inside of your trailer. Once back in fond du lac I could put it up on skates and drag it out of the trailer then winch it up on mine. (4/10/2007)
Question: Since it moves you could also ask if they have a outside loading dock type area. Sounds like we'd be able to drive it on as long its a solid surface. Our trailers are between 35 and 40" depending on the air drop.thanks Dufrane (4/10/2007)
Response: I called them today, they don't have any loading ramp or any equipment that could pick it up and slide it in a trailer, only a crane for a vertical lift and drop. (4/10/2007)
