Questions for this shipment:

Question: Could I carry something in it on the way out to help cover the cost? My bid will be less if we can do that. I regularly tow a 28 ft and have a equalizer hitch and sway bar. (12/28/2006)
Response: its a brand new trailer with a linoleum floor. I would not want anything to damage the linoleum. what would you be carrying. Randy (12/28/2006)
Question: does this pickup it a dealer or a manufacture (12/28/2006)
Response: my dealer and the manufacture are both located in Elkhart. I guess you could pick up at either location. (12/28/2006)
Question: how about a 2005 lexus? This a race car trailer right? Scott (12/28/2006)
Response: Yes, it is a race car trailer. Will be used for Allison Legacy car. Not sure on the lexus question, but I am not in the market for one. (12/28/2006)
Question: I meant to lower the cost I could haul out a 2005 Lexus in your trailer.. When can the trailer be picked up? Scott (12/28/2006)
Response: not sure if a lexus would fit. there are cabinets in the front of trailer. there is only 16 feet of tie down space. our car is a 3/4 scale. it is only 12' 6' long. if it would fit and be a real cost savings I would allow it. trailer is due to be completed 2nd week of Jan. (12/28/2006)
Question: Dear shipper, please read section 10 of the uShip agreement. (12/28/2006)
Response: I just read again. am I doing something incorrectly? (12/28/2006)
Question: NO, you are not doing anything wrong. What someone is trying to tell you is to be sure to use a legal hauler. This is very easy to do as you can look them up on the FMCSA web site using thier dot# or mc#. These numbers are not a secret and any legal carrier will have them( YES, BOTH of them) They need to be a common carrier not contract and it all needs to be active. This info is very easy to read on the FMCSA web site and is a great help to you making a safe choice, not just the lowest. When you visit the site it will also tell you who they are insured through and you can contact the insurance company to verify that there is enough coverage for your shipment. I hope that this helps you a little. (12/28/2006)
Response: it helps me alot. thank you very much for the info. (12/28/2006)
Question: Dear sir, I haul for a lot of the dealers in Elkhart. Who is the dealer? Also I have a driver going down to Florida the middle of Jan. that could do it for $430 cash on delivery for the driver! Let me know and I'll place the bid!! Thank you C-Mar Transport. (12/30/2006)
Response: continental cargo. hope to have a pickup date by the end of the week. (12/31/2006)
Question: (12/31/2006)

Question: Let me know what you figure out. C-Mar Transport (1/1/2007)
Question: what date are you looking at? i can do it for $600.00 let me know if this price works for you. thanks, terry (1/2/2007)
Response: hope to have a pickup date by the end of this week. (1/2/2007)
Question: I can do it for $1.25/mile with cargo ins. inc. Thanks, GSD. (1/2/2007)
Question: can leave next wed and del wed nite or thur morn for 500.00 cash on del end, let me know and i will bid..thanks (1/2/2007)
Question: shipper i just read the paragraphs above and wanted to let you know i have federal authority and carry $100,000 in cargo insurance. i bid $600.00 couple of lines up. (1/2/2007)
Response: Thanks for your bid. I see you do have a current DOT and MC #s. After much debate, I will only accept a bid from shipping agents with current DOT and MC numbers. Hope to have pickup date by end of week. (1/3/2007)
Question: let me know when you get dates for pick. thanks, terry (1/3/2007)
Question: Hello...............Actually, insurance is offered, I cannot believe that you would list that as the reason, which is incorrect. We do have insurance coverage, with further investigation you would have realized that. I would have happily faxed you proof of our coverage or emailed it to you. Which ever you had preferred. Good Luck with your shipment. Before you go making comments like that about other providers, I think you better do further checking and know what you are talking about. Good Day. (1/3/2007)
Response: never made a comment. uship only gives generic choices. I stated in my answer to the question above. I will only use a shipping agent with a current DOT and MC number. you have not provided that in your profile. (1/3/2007)
Question: YOU DIDNOT CHECK MY BID VERY CLOSE I DID OFFER INSURANCE jamesf28 (1/3/2007)
Response: I will only use a shipping agent with a current DOT and MC number. you have not provided that in your profile. that is the reason for declining your bid. uship does not give me that option under their generic decline options. I felt that was the best selection they offered. sorry if I offended you. (1/3/2007)
Question: (1/4/2007)
Question: hey shipper, you dont have to worry about the dot number etc, just let the factory ship it to you, they have all of our info on file, that way it will save you all this trouble, or are you wanting this done cheaper than 1.20 a mile as that is the rate here in elkhart,..... (1/4/2007)
Question: (1/4/2007)
Response: I'm sorry I just don't see what I have done to upset you. all I have asked is to receive bids from shipping agents with DOT and MC numbers. That is what I have been advised by several of the shippers on uship and others in the profession. (1/4/2007)
Question: a lot of the providers are insured, most of us dont have it on our profile, we have it faxed to the shipper once the bid is accepted, you decline a bid a say there is no insurance it makes it look like a bad provider, and they arent, some of us dont put our dot number in the profile, it is given to you when you request it. then you can check it out. as far as the price, the factory pays 1.20 a mile, im in elkhart the trailer capital of the us. you need to let the factory ship your trailer as they already have our info in their system for shipping, most people think they are going to save 50% ON SHIPPING ON HERE, BUT FOR USED ITEMS YES, NOT FOR A NEW 1. HOPEFULLY THIS HAS HELPED YOU TO DECIDE A LEGAL CARRIER AND PAYMENT OF FACTORY PRICING, THANKS... (1/4/2007)
Response: This is my first time having anything shipped. I did not mean to offend anyone, I was advised to use a carrier with DOT and MC numbers. I only no if they have it by there profile. if I declined someones bid that has it I'm truely sorry. I do thank you for the advice. (1/4/2007)
Question: Good morning shipper. Looks like you are doing your homework and weeding some out. You are only irritating the ones that run under the rader so to speak. You will notice that carriers that have there info out there for you to see are not giving you a hard time. DOT#'s are not a secrect, They are posted on the trucks and there is no reason not to have them on here. I love it when people on here bid on items and then get mad because you are looking for a bargin, Most manufactures pay more than 1.20 to a broker and then the broker hires drivers at 1.15-1.25 to move it. What they are not telling you is those loads are one way and most drivers do not have there own athority to legally get a back haul. Most are running under the brokers athority. You are doing things correct and I am glad to see that a shipper on here is taking a stand. You have several bids from legal haulers that will save you money. Thank you for following the rules and doing your homework. (1/4/2007)
Response: thanks (1/4/2007)
