Response: YES! I am still in need of a shipper for the engine. It is still sitting uncrated in the seller's garage. The seller is willing to help get it crated or boxed or whatever. What are your "crating" requirements, can you pick up from his garage?, and of course ..for how much? Thanks Randall (11/9/2006)
Question: We are looking at putting together a trip to CA some time around the 17th and if you are interested we can place a bid, we would need all oils drained from the motor and a helping hand at collection and delivery, there is no need for special packing as the goods will be enclosed.we are looking at $450 door to door, how does that sound ?? Response: I contacted the seller. He will be out of town on the 17th yet is wife will be at home. What did you need in way of asistance in the pick-up? Lifting or just access? The motor is quite heavy (400Lb?) and bulky. I must admit that there is a possiblity of having the seller dismantle the engine and just send me the parts i need, costing me less and unfortunately eliminating my need for a shipper. Response: I am sorry about the late response. I was waiting for the The seller's response. In all likelihood I will only ever need the lower unit and the seller is willing to part it out and mail it to me in pieces. As such, although I'm gambling on only needing that part, I guessing I will be paying only a couple hundred bucks to ship the parts piece by piece. Unless you would consider stuffing the whole motor in your truck and getting that motor out to California for a couple hundred bucks, (I could meet you in Reno or Sacramento) I cant use your services at this time. Again i apologize for changing my budget so drastically. Randall P.S. The seller can drain the engine but will be out of town on the 17th. His wife can be at her address for pick up but she can not help load. (11/13/2006)
Question: Randall can we split the difference and we can get this thing moving, the only reservation I have is Donner Pass (possible snow) and we may re route and come along 40 or 10 into LA and then towards San Fran so how can you help me in that respect (11/14/2006)
Response: That is quite generous of you! I may kick myself in the future but i have resolved to just have the seller ship me the lower unit when and if I need it some time in the future. (he is willing to store the motor a while longer) Your offer is more than acceptable and may never come along again but at this time i will decline. Have a safe trip and good luck with the snow.
