Questions for this shipment:

Question: Are you shopping for a price to make a deal work or are you going to move this hay? As of today I feel that I can move this load for around $1.80 a mile. (8/14/2009)
Response: The hay is going either way. I will have it shipped or ship it myself. Do the dates work for you? What is the dimensions on the trailer? Sean (8/14/2009)
Response: Sean, I can work around your dates and will send you a 53ft van or reefer(sometimes they are cheaper in this lane do having higher paying produce loads coming out of Fl.) You will be responsible for loading and unloading with a 2 to 3 hr time limit and then the trucks start charging detention fees. There must be adequate space on each end for the rig to maneuver reasonably and safely. How is the pricing? On individuals we require wire transfer before loading unless certain credit criteria is met, our trucks are required to carry $100,000 cargo insurance and 1 million liability. All trucks are DOT safety certified and inspected. Many thanks Mike @ Riverbank Cargo Solutions (8/15/2009)
Response: Thanks for all the info. I couldn't ship the hay in a reefer, because they aren't as big, they cost me about 60-80 bales on the shipment. We would take care of all the loading and unloading, 2-3 hours should be adequate. I have had semis in both locations. $1.80/mile works out to about $2000, which is more then I want to pay. Not sure how I feel about paying all the $ upfront before any services are rendered, what if your driver takes 4 days to get it down there and messes up my schedule. I have been shipping hay to FL for 5 years, so I am not trying to pull one over on someone. I would be willing to pay 50% at pick-up and 50% on delivery if that works for you guys. Do you broker it and is that why you have to have the wire transfers rather than paying the driver? Let me know what you are thinking... Sean (8/15/2009)
Response: I will check for less expensive cost but as far as our payment guidelines we can go back and forth all day as to the reason for one or the other, this happens to be my companies policy as we have got burned on 16 loads in the last 90days from shippers who refuse to pay after we have shipped their hay, as a point of debate would be after I got your hay there you refuse to pay because you ran out of money or what ever, then I am stuck with paying the truck. We are a bonded company with a great track record and verifiable references, we make the trucks sign a rate con before pickup that states exact pick up and delivery times, and if they do not preform they do not get paid except for certain circumstances(breakdowns and weather) if your load never shows up or is lost or damaged we carry $100,000 cargo insurance and 1 million liability and we require the trucks to do the same and we have to have a insurance certificate from their company showing us as the also insured for your load. (8/16/2009)
Response: I appreciate all the info and your honest answer. Let me know what you find out from the company. I do understand why policies are made, to protect yourself from people/companies that are not trust worthy and the rest of us have to suffer because of them... Thanks, Sean (8/16/2009)
Response: The going reported rate for this lane is running around $1.82 per mile. I will bid when I know I have a truck for your load dates of around the 29th, is that still a target date? How quick will you be ready to except a bid if it is in your Budget? I will not bid unless I have a truck and I can get for a lower price for you. The other brokers bidding for your load have a top notch reputation, there pricing is pretty much right on the market value. (8/24/2009)
Question: Yes I broker, but if it my own company and I had owner operates or company drivers I would not allow them to handle the money most of the time. I understand you position and I will check and see if my company will try your method, I doubt it, but I will ask. (8/16/2009)
Question: Hello Sir, We will not require you to pay upfront. That is unfair to you. Accept our bid of the same rate you agreed and we will take care of you. Thank you. (8/17/2009)
Response: Thank you for you offer. I am interested, but I have not agreed to a price as of yet. My target is $1500 and I am going to wait for the best deal with good service that I can get. Thanks so much! Sean (8/17/2009)
Response: I understand, thank you Sean. - Justin (8/17/2009)
Question: please bear in mind uship gets my uShip fee is 200.00 or more of this bid......at least the first time....} we are ready to go here.......no waiting 50 -50 pay (8/17/2009)
Question: LET ME GO AHEAD AND BOOK THIS LOAD FOR ABOUT 28TH- 1,2,3 WHAT DO U SAY? I BID 1950 AT YOUR REQUEST (8/21/2009)
Response: Are you still interested in shipping? I had someone at $1700, but they haven't been able to finalize a pick-up date yet and I can't wait much longer. (8/29/2009)
Question: i will do this for 1700.00 dollars and that does not include the uship fees i have submitted a bid and some notes (8/31/2009)
Question: i could load one day in the morning and deliver the next day in the evening i could do this asap for u (8/31/2009)
