Questions for this shipment:

Question: What is the volume of your shipments (1/23/2007)
Response: This is a unique shipment, but we do have 3 steel tanks that will need to be moved in the very near future. They are much closer to their destination (less than 30 miles). Thanks, Jeff (1/23/2007)
Question: The shipper needs to coordinate with the crane and the purchaser is paying for that on top of the quoted price. Correct? (1/23/2007)
Response: Uship was not listing things exactly correct, and it won't let me edit it, but basically, what is required is as follows: 1. Seller in Winston-Salem will provide crane services for loading. 2. Shipper will coordinate between that crane service and the crane service on the delivery end. 3. Shipper is responsible for paying crane service at delivery end. They charge by the hour with no minimum charge. Approximately $95.00/hour. They are typically easy to coordinate with. Thanks for asking. Jeff (1/23/2007)
Question: when will the shipper have a set time on the crane? I understand that they cost per hour so being punctional will save money, but not know time may cause a problem in the shipment if the truck has to wait or if the crane has to wait. (1/23/2007)
Response: While the seller is paying for the crane service at the pickup point, coordination of the crane services is the responsibility of the shipper. The crane service recommended at the delivery end is typically easy to coordinate with and does not charge minimum fees and only $95.00/hr. Thanks for asking. Jeff (1/23/2007)
Question: Jeff do you realize you are the shipper? (1/30/2007)
Response: For whatever reason, the listing is messed up. The listing should be simply as follows: 1. The tank is in Winston-Salem in the possession of the previous owner. He will pay for the crane to load the tank onto your trailer, but you coordinate when it is to be there. 2. You haul the tank to my plant site. 3. You coordinate with the crane operator on our end and are responsible for paying that operator to unload the tank at our site. Thanks for the questions. Jeff (1/30/2007)
Question: why does truck driver have to be responsible for payment of crane on your end i would bid if not for that. it might $100.00 or $200.00 or 250. ect they might get all my profit ...let me know if you change that thanks (2/6/2007)
Response: I appreciate the question. Because the crane is being provided by someone else at the loading location, it made more sense to me to have one person coordinating all the efforts, and thus it would be more efficient than me having to arrange around a schedule over which I have no control. In all honesty, by you being responsible for that arrangement, and cost, it helps protect my checkbook from having a crane operator sitting around all day, if it isn't needed. Because you want to maximize your profit, and rightfully so, you will schedule it when you need it, and try to get him there and gone as soon as humanly possible. That helps us all. I provided the name of the local crane operator, noted their rate and that they are hourly with no minimum, and their contact info, to assist in the bid. Thanks again, Jeff (2/6/2007)
Question: is there any travel time for the crane or do they not start time until they arrive? if they do charge how long of a drive? (2/9/2007)
Response: Good question, and I'm not sure of the answer, but they should be able to address that for you. Scott and Jones is located in Calypso, NC, approximately 13 files from the delivery site, and their crane is self-mobile, so it doesn't require hauling equipment, etc, for transport. (2/9/2007)
Question: sorry i also forgot to ask this is not a hazmat load right it is empty and no placards? (2/9/2007)
Response: This tank is empty and requires no placards. Thanks for the question. (2/9/2007)
Question: ok so the only expense i am required to pay is for the unloading then correct? (2/9/2007)
Response: That is correct. The crane charges should be your only expense. You will contract that service directly with Scott & Jones. Thanks for the question. (2/9/2007)
Question: the only other question i have is the payment from you it don't say. will you pay cash upon delivery? if so i will place my bid and can pick up late on tuesday or first thing on wednesday (2/9/2007)
Response: I would recommend contacting the person who presently has the tank in their possession to ensure they can have the crane there during that time frame, as well as confirming the same with Scott & Jones. It should be doable, but worth checking. If those arrangements can be secured, I'll be prepared to accept a bid, and will pay for the delivery in whatever way we negotiate. My thought is to pay at least a part up front, and the rest upon delivery, but that is negotiable. Thanks, Jeff (2/9/2007)
Question: could you contact the shipper and ask if wednesday morning works for them and i will contact scott and see if they are available wednesday afternoon thanks (2/9/2007)
Response: I will do that. Thanks, Jeff (2/9/2007)
Question: hello jeff its Brian again i called the crane company and there is a 2 hour minimum on that and wed afternoon should be good for them so the sooner i no if they can load it i can book the crane to unload thanks again Brian (2/9/2007)
Response: I didn't realize that I couldn't post the contact info for the person holding the tank, so the appropriate thing to do would be to post your bid. If the price is right and I can accept, I can get that contact info to you to make the necessary arrangements. Thanks. (2/9/2007)
Question: We can do it next week for $625.00 with a double drop trailer. Thanks. (2/9/2007)
Response: Have you read all the questions and answers in addition to the original post? If so, please post your bid, and we'll see what we can do. Thanks for your note. (2/9/2007)
Question: this is a hazmat load and will have to be placard and haz mat insurance of 5 million liability insurance on top of it not to mention the driver has to have a haz mat endorcement on his or her CDL (2/15/2007)
Response: This tank is empty and has not been used for LP in a long time. From what I understand, there is no need for hazmat as the tank is considered a pressure vessel, not an active LP gas tank. It is not connected to a gas system and was drained and tested with compressed air some time previously. Thanks, Jeff (2/16/2007)
Question: Do you still need this tank moved? I may have a truck available on Friday. Janice at Fair Freight llc (2/27/2007)
Response: I do need it moved. I had the flu and was unable to accept a bid before the listing had expired. (2/28/2007)
Question: Do you still need this moved? Can it be loaded and moved with a landoll trailer? (3/5/2007)
Question: [removed] (3/19/2007)
Question: do you still need this moved? ken (4/6/2007)
Response: I do indeed still need it moved. I hope to award it this weekend. Thanks for asking. (4/6/2007)
