Question: What is your budget for this? I can pickup next week and deliver in 4-5 days. Please check our feedback @ Storti Moving. Thanks, Gus (8/14/2009)

Response: I will contact the receiver and get back to you tomorrow on the budget. Sorry, thought they would have gotten that to me by now.
What is the charge for Full Value Insurance?
On items valued at $2700.00 and also for items valued at $7356.00?
I will need to know that to add into the budget.
thank you (8/14/2009)

Response: Should be able to get this done for $400 fully insured. Thanks, Gus (8/14/2009)

Response: Would that be packaged and wrapped by you?
The chairs are just as they appear in the picture. There are only two chairs shown in the photo but there are 6 identical chairs. Very lightweight but with caned backs and seats.
What type of insurance form is provided?
I will be in contact with the receiver tomorrow a.m. (8/14/2009)

Response: They would be blanket wrapped by us. Your picture does not appear on the listing, so I can't really see what they look like. it would be replacement cost insurance. Thanks, Gus (8/14/2009)

Response: Try the listing again if you can please. I just went online and it shows the picture I posted this afternoon with two chairs in the photo. If it's not sowing for you, I'd better do something about that. They are cane and metal tubing, Knoll quality and sturdy, but could be crushed or bent under pressure and the caning can be damaged. I assumed they should be packaged somehow. I see your listing says yo are good with antiques and special quality items so take a look and let me know what you think.
Also, I will need to let her know: Is there an insurance form that can be filled out in the name of the receiver with the delivery address that we can fax to her before her payment is made? (8/14/2009)

Response: The picture now shows up. I would put them in cartons for an extra $100. As for the insurance, it has to be signed at the time of pickup with the amount hand written by either you as the receivers' agent, or the receiver. Thanks, Gus (8/15/2009)

Response: Hi Gus, This sounds good, Glad the picture showed up. What do you think about the necessary packaging of these for safe arrival? What type of vehicle would they be transported in? What type of load would they be included with? i.e. what would they be around or what might be placed on top of them or pushed against them? I see in your member page a picture of what looks like a large van. Is this the vehicle they would ride in all the way? Your mention of antiques and expensive items is reassuring since these are original Knoll Breuer Cesca's and even the authentic ones from Knoll today are not the same steel tubing as these and the caning in the backs and seats can be damaged. Would it be you or your son driving and handling it for the duration? Or someone aware of the covered items' materials and vulnerable areas?
I'm trying to reach the receiver, she's not near email sometimes on the weekends but I have a call into her and if she is near reception area she should be getting back soon. (8/15/2009)

Response: We either use the van you saw a picture of or a straight truck. We do not have or use tractor trailers. I have been moving antiques and custom furniture for 35 years and my son for 10 years. They would go on one truck and be handled by either him or I for the whole trip. No switching trucks or people with us. Hopefully you read our feedback which should answer any questions you have as far as our reliability and integrity. Considering the value, I would at least put cardboard over the seats and backs to protect the cane. They would absolutely not have anything placed on top of them! Let me know as soon as you reach the receiver what you both decide. Thanks, Gus (8/15/2009)

Response: Sounds good,
Forgot to ask about payment.
I see your listing says payment accepted at pick-up and also at delivery.
What is the normal way you handle the payment?
What amount do we pay at what ends? (8/15/2009)

Response: If the receiver is paying for the shipping then I will collect the full amount from them when I deliver. Paypal, Master Card, Visa, or cash. I am leaving the house right now but will be back on line later. I've got an appointment I have to be at. Thanks, Gus (8/15/2009)

Response: Hello Gus,
I am so sorry this is taking so long. The woman that is buying these chairs is buying them for her husband -a surprise. He knows the chairs well. She has been contacting me thru her travel agency work email and phone number since 8/6/09 and had emailed me several times last weekend that she was unable to email back after 3 pm on Fri. til Sun. so I assume now that this is her schedule this weekend also. She asked us to arrange shipping on Friday,yesterday,8/14/09 and we got the ad posted about 3 pm AZ. time. Thank you for your quick reply, I really did not know how efficiently Uship could work! I had not needed to call her by phone until last night when I began communications with you and since I have now called her number, I see it is her travel agency voicemail.I hope to hear from her tomorrow since I did not today. I understand if you fill your schedule, I hope that will not be the case. I will be on this continuously and contact you immediately with a firm reply ASAP. (8/15/2009)

Response: Thanks, I'll wait to here from you. Gus (8/15/2009)

Response: Hi Gus, Sunday night, I expect I will begin hearing from the receiver when she gets to work in the morning-Indiana time. I have my phone on at all times, have let her know that I will be on the road for about four hours in the middle of the day tomorrow, locally, but will be away from my pc until about 3:00 pm PST. [phone number removed NOTE: Once a bid is accepted, both parties’ contact info will be exchanged. – uShip] How long is your service available to do this? I have conveyed everything to her but since she has not been able to see emails or hear messages as they are all her work numbers, I cannot contact her until tomorrow when I will definitely get other contact numbers and a price commitment.
I can make a phone call to Tom who will be at the location where the chairs are and can get on the Uship account after about 1:00 pm. If I need to reach you during these hours when we do not have PC access, is there a number to call or can you give me a time when you are no longer av (8/16/2009)

Response: Have you heard yet? Thanks, Gus (8/17/2009)

Response: Oh, I'm so glad you made contact. I was not able to answer you a second answer, also got red-flagged for putting in my phone number because I was going to be gone.Cancelled my travel plans once she replied Monday a.m.. Yes, I am in contact with her and walking her thru this. We're working on gettng her Paypal bank account up-to-date and confirmed. I was just going to Request a Bid from you because I knew of no other way to re-establish contact. How long are you available to do ths shipment? I'm walking her thru the Paypal banking stuff. Received 3 emails from her while I've been typing this to you. Constant emails since yesterday. She's ready to go and so are we but I won't misrepresent it to you if she's not able to complete this comfirmation of Paypal banking for a definitive commitment to your bid and time-frame. (8/17/2009)

Response: Thats fine. We also take cash and cerdit cards as well as paypal, so thats another option. Thanks, Gus (8/17/2009)

Response: Hi Gus, To update you, half the battle with her Paypal and bank account is done but she has to get on the phone tomorrow am to get the verification done unless she can get it done online tonight. I've given her instructions, I'd get it done tonight, I've been with her all day and will be working with her tomorrow, maybe tonight if her husband is not present to see or hear. the problem is she has to pay for the furniture with Paypal. Hopefully we can get this completed tomorrow and then you are free to do the Bid and we can proceed. You can go ahead and enter a Bid if you prefer, I just want to be honest with you about any delays and not cause any conflicts or misrepresentation. I'm very new to Uship, don't want to mess up your scheduling. I know you said pickup next week, which is this week. Can you pick up any day this week? How many more days are you available for this shipment? Will let you know as soon as it gets done. (8/17/2009)

Response: Thank you for keeping me informed. At this point we are ok, I've actually delayed my departure from San Diego, (not because of you), someone else requested that I pick up something for them that won't be ready until the end of this week or weekend, so that is good, it gives us some time. I would let you know immediately if I have a time or space issue. You've been great about staying in touch. Thanks again, Gus (8/17/2009)

Response: OK Gus, We are set to go. Got the financial stuff to a workable resolution. She says she'd really like to receive by 8/25 but that's not a sticking point. She can receive the items Mon. - Fri., she cannot receive on a Sat. or Sun. When would you like to pickup? The pickup of the items can be done anytime before Mon. 8/24 You can place the bid for packaging the items the way you think best for safe arrival. How do you want to proceed? (8/18/2009)

Response: At this point, I,m not sure I can pickup before Monday. As I said in my last message, I had a customer who wants me to pickup the end of this week or weekend, so I have delayed my departure. I definately would not be able to deliver by the 25th. At this point, if she can't accept delivery on weekends, it would have to be the 31st through the 3rd of Sept. One thing I absolutely will not do is drive to much or to long, there isn't anything in this world worth getting into an accident over. But we would have to deal with the pickup date of the 24th first, if that doesn't work, then none of it works. Let me know and thanks, Gus (8/18/2009)

Response: Hello Gus, Just spoke with Tom (Owner of the furniture and at the pickup location) and as far as picking up on Monday the 24th that can be done if it is during the day. He is leaving the country early the next morning from Phoenix airport and has made arrangements to leave that afternoon approx. 3pm. But it sounds like we should be able to get this done if it is a daytime - morning or early afternoon pickup. Does this sound possible to you?
I have emailed the receiver and will let you know what she decides as soon as I hear. Please send me back a reply to this so I can answer you again when she responds. Thanks. (8/18/2009)

Response: At this point I would be guessing if I said I could be there before then on Monday. I would really rather not put you, Tom, or myself in the position of having to be stressed over whether or not I can meet that deadline. If there isn't any alternative plan to be able to get it later in the week, I would rather just pass on it. I would rather you found someone else who could guarantee that they could make it. You still have 5 days. Quite a bit has changed since we started talking last Friday. Let me know what you decide. Thanks, Gus (8/18/2009)

Response: How about if I can be there myself anytime anyday? When do you think it is probable pickup for your schedule? I haven't heard from the receiver yet either. I also declined the other bid and I'm sure others who have viewed this conversation consider this a done deal. Do you think you could do it Monday or when? When is your first pickup expected to be and what is your eta on departure San Diego presently? Another idea, what if I got the chairs to Tucson somehow and you could pick up on the NE side of Tuscon? (8/18/2009)

Response: I don't think getting them to Tucson is the answer. I want to do this, I just can't give you a definate answer on pickup day at this point because I don't have an answer from my client in San Diego about when I can pick up their items. They are supposed to let me know by Thursday and I don't want to spring it on you Thursday that I can't pick up till Monday from them and not get to Sierra Vista till Wednesday. They constitute a large portion of my load and have comitted to me with a non-refundable deposit so I really have to wait for them. I didn't realize as we have been communicating that there were any deadlines with our situation, until today. I thought by working with the other folks I was actually doing a good thing by giving us time, but i guess it backfired. I really want to do this,as I said, but I would feel much more comfortable if we had a bigger window of time to work in. Why don't we see what your client says and go from there? Let me know what you think. Thanks, Gus (8/18/2009)

Response: I appreciate that. I haven't heard from her since we've been in constant contact all morning until about 2pm her time and she was late leaving for Illinois due to all the paypal work we had to get done. She's in the travel business thus the reason for being away on weekends. I expect her to be back in touch tomorrow. She didn't mention being gone for any extended time. She has NYC family visiting on the 25th so that was the reason for wanting to have it there on that date. If it's not to be, I don't see it as a problem for a bigger window and later delivery but I can't really say what her view will be. With all the unexpected time delays we've had from her end I don't expect it to be a problem for her. Would be fine with both Tom and myself for an extended date. Give me a Hello question back please so I can answer you tomorrow when I hear from her. thanks. (8/18/2009)

Response: I got it. I'll wait until you here from her. Thanks, Gus (8/19/2009)

Response: Just heard from her and it's good. She's practical about it, more flexible and says, 'I think that we go with the shipper that you want to work with and trust the most.' She also mentioned, 'I assume that any shipper will have damage insurance as this is a long way to travel and who knows what could happen.' So let's not forget to go over the insurance if I need to adapt it. I'm supposed to be packing up an apt. to move by the end of the month (WAY behind!) but will be available by cell when not near the PC. Will be near pc today all day and probably tomorrow too. Have to run to Nogales then Sierra Vista on Friday then back to Tucson Sat. How do you wish to proceed now? Thanks, Elaine (8/19/2009)

Response: Ok, I just want to be sure where the chairs are at. Are they in Sierra Vista? Also, if I get there after Monday, will they be at your home or still at Toms? You mentioned meeting me somewhere. If you could meet me off the Sierra Vista exit I could lower my price. Just thought I would run it by you, sometimes people want to save a little. I have no problem coming to Sierra Vista if thats what you prefer. At least we have your client on board now, that a good thing. What is the total value, $2700 or $7356? Thanks, Gus (8/19/2009)

Response: Sorry for the delay here, MAJOR PC work, and temp. email glitches. The chairs are in S.V. I was going to go get them two at a time and drive them to Tucson if needed in my Camry! Don't have a truck available. To pick them up in Tucson it is about 16 miles north of I-10 anwyay and all the way thru the city, 2 lane busy road w/ lots of signal lights. Hwy. 90 goes south off I-10 about 24 miles to S.V., straight shot, 4 lane, w/ not many signals and it is just 2 blocks off that road once you get into S.V. A much easier drive. I will ask her the ins. value when I get in touch with her next. She was expecting replacement cost which is $7356. Is this a problem? Give me a reply back so I can answer you. I have to remember I can only answer you once each time until we get the bid in. Also what time tomorrow do you expect to hear an eta for your pickup there? (8/19/2009)

Response: Insurance is not a problem. Just wanted to know the value. I will know tomorrow between 2-4 pm what day I will be arriving. Thanks, Gus (8/19/2009)
