Questions for this shipment:
Question:
It will be a lot less expensive if you take the bridge off. Will you take the bridge off to get the height down around 12'? (2/9/2007)
Response:
It currently is our understanding that this boat can ship to our area with the bridge in place. So at this point is is a matter of cost of removing and reinstalling the bridge VS the savings on shipping. Therefore, We are considering the removal of the bridge. Please quote on the shipping costs with bridge off and with bridge on.We will decide on how it will ship based on the estimates (Unless we find a reason that it can not ship with the bridge in place). Thank you, PBF (2/11/2007)
Question:
What is the value of the boat?have $200,000 cargo and can be upgradeable!Have special 68ft houseboat trailer for the job!Bridge removed would be better then won't have to be highpoled serveyed! My bid will be with bridge removed,$2000.00 more if not!timshaul (2/10/2007)
Response:
Value of the boat is $285,000 and we would require ample cargo coverage as well as ample liability coverage from the company who is successful(In writing from your insurance carrier) . We are considering the removal of the bridge but only if it justifies the savings. It is our understanding that the shipment can be made to our area without the removal of the bridge, so the purpose of removal at this point appears to be cost of removing & installing VS cost of shipping. We will be at the boat in a few days and intend to measure the height as it is a shallow bridge (Approx. 2' to 2.5') and may not make much difference. I see your quote for shipping with the bridge removed, please now provide me a bid with shipping the boat with the bridge inplace. Also please provide us with your experience in 1. hauling large boats, and 2. how much hauling of large boats to the northeast (NY & NJ) Thank You, PBF (2/11/2007)
Question:
this boat cannot go down the road with the bridge on. i guarantee it. call the manufacturer to verify shipping proceedures.DRD (2/10/2007)
Question:
i have done many gibsons'. find my website and look at the 50'gibson.DRD (2/11/2007)
Question:
are you a broker pbf? (2/14/2007)
Response:
Sorry for the lengthy delay in responding. i ahve just returned from Nashville. To answer your question I am not personally a broker. However if you have more favorable pricing for brokers, the quote can go through Anchor High Sales in Hendersonville, TN. As I am sorting through my last 5 days of E-mail, I see you have sent a quote of $ 8,500. Is this a revised quote with the bridge on or off. Additionally, It indicates an expiration in 6 days. Please get back to me regarding your question regarding a broker and your expiration date. Thanks, Paul (2/20/2007)
Question:
Bid is for the boat with bridge off!Bid expires will not rebid, market is picking up and booking boats threw brokers! You want an experinced, carefull, accident free move?timshaul (2/20/2007)
Question:
I can do your high pole survey and escort if you end up trying to ship this with the bridge on.Your bidders are correct in trying to get the height down as low as they can because the trailer will add 1-2 feet to it and the states will be reluctant to issue permits. The other question you have about "brokers" comes usually from a broker. It is illegal to broker a load twice so they ask if your a broker to see if they can broker it out to someone else. Keep me in mind if you need a high pole survey, I've run many on the I-40/81 corridor. Thanks (2/23/2007)
Response:
Thank you for your information. Are you interested in bidding on the entire haul or just the high pole survey? (2/23/2007)
Question:
Paul,i'm a go if your ready..I'll have to resubmit bid now to avoid larger % chg uship..I will work to you off west coast to load 15th march if you accept bid tduncan55 (3/5/2007)
Response:
Tom, To give you an update, I am still waiting on Nashville with the price and ability to do the bridge strip and a travel lift. I have lost a very dear friend on Tuesday and his viewing is today. I am hoping to hear from Nashville before noon our time. Either way I will try to touch base with you around that time. Paul (3/8/2007)
Question:
Paul,if you desire go ahead and accept bid so we can communicate better as time aproaches.I have to have time to set up permits/escorts ect...I could go up and load then work at bridge reduction...I'll help you out as much as poss...sorry about your loss... (3/8/2007)
Response:
Question, At this point I am anticipating the worst and intend to go to Nashville and take the bridge off myself. Assuming we can get lift service (I will be calling the 2 marinas I know of around 10:00 AM Nashville time)I need to decide to drive or fly. If I drive, can I be considered one of the chase cars and save that additional cost. If so, it would be worth it to drive. If not, It would be worth it to fly. Please let me know the answer ASAP. I intend to have this wrapped up and know who, where, and how this will happen by the end of today. FYI: My intention is to make this work for you for a pick-up on the 15th and no later than the 16th. Thanks, Paul PS Once I am sure of the lift service being close I will accept the bid. That is the only thing left that could get in the way of your doing the haul. (3/10/2007)
Question:
Looks like your finally getting things going on this. To play the role of "chase car" you need to be certified in Virginia. They will shut the load down if not and you will not like the fine. Tn. you don't need to be certified but they do have equipment requirements. Good luck- Gapilotcardriver (3/10/2007)
