Question: How much room do you think your belongings will need to be safely packed and do you have an estimated weight of all your belongings? thanks CMS (2/6/2007)

Response: I think that we will require an entire 50' trailer and would ask that everyone bid on that requirement. In addition to furniture and household goods, we have an aircrft I am building with wings and a 20' fuselage as well as many potted plants. So we do not want this shipment to be unloaded at a terminal or shared with other freight. Plan to pick up in 1/2 to 1 day at 32195,truck to 78657 and 1/2 day to unload. Question: You mentioned a possible weight issue. Companies using semis, when determining cost, is weight and cu. ft.. If a estimated weight is given, and it is wrong the customer will pay the tariff rates on the difference and it can be considerably higher, @ $1.25 per pound. My question to you is if I could provide 2-26 ft Penske type trucks, would that be sufficient space for your items? This way, there is no weight issue and you would have full use of the trucks, and a direct shipment. (2/22/2007)

Question: By the way, I just caculated the cost, and it's $8178- $500, for cash, required for out of state moves. $7678 final price, no other charges apply. Since we don't know each other, we do require $678 to book move and $3500 @ p/u and $3500 @ drop off. This still gives you some advantage, since Expenses are over the initial layout. Response: Henry, Of course that is your perogative. To be accurate though,I don't think I had any trouble with your terms, I just asked for clarification: 1.Did I have 2 days to drive to Texas, or if your drivers drove straight through in 24 hours, would you be charging me to wait? 2.What happens to your quote (my price) if the weight were to be more than my estimate of 12,000#s? 3.How is my deposit protected? (I have since discovered that a credit card payment is acceptable, which gives me that assurance) We had decided to accept your bid, but wanted to understand the above issues before accepting. I honestly don't understand how these legitimate questions caused you to retract your bid. Perhaps you would reconsider. Bill For your information we have had 5 responses to our listing. Question: My bid expired, did you want me to resubmit it? I hope whomever you use you check to be sure they're legal household goods movers, before accepting anyone, including me. As far as funds go, I would be giving you a receipt for each part of the transaction. This would be your proof that you paid, and my proof, of how much.
