Question: Hello, when are you wanting to move your belongings? How many stairs and will you be able to assist in the unloading? Can a truck and 40 ft. trailer park close to the entry doors at both locations without blocking traffic? Click on my username to view my equipement and feedback. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks for your time, Ken (10/28/2009)

Response: I am getting bid now so that I can figure out if I can do it, and then will commit immediatly.
There is a light of stairs in my apt- a duplex. There is a freight elevator to my floor, with a loading area. A truck can park outside- if there is parking. I do not know how one arranges that.
The building is on the corner of West Side HWy 9 where entrance for loading is) and Bethune. (10/28/2009)

Response: Thanks for the reply. I am waiting on a call from another person I have given a bid too. If they commit I will be able to transport your items in the $995-$1095 range. I would need to pickup your items prior to Nov. 21 and I would have them delivered in appx 7 days. Let me know your thoughts on this, Ken (10/29/2009)

Response: Please place the bid so I can see all the particulars. Like, for example, would you load and unload for that? I have a two floor duplex, but there is a freight elevator. (10/29/2009)

Response: I will have to wait until I get a commitment from another person before I can place a bid. The way this site works is if I place a bid and you accept, I am obligated to move your belongings and until I have a yes or no from the other person this one job would not pay enough to cover my fuel cost. I hope you understand, it is hard to communicate using only e-mail.Yes, I will load and unload for the quoted price. Are you ok with the appx. pickup and delivery dates? Once I hear back from the other party I will let you know. Thanks, Ken (10/29/2009)

Question: Hi Joan Can this be picked up on 11/14? I would deliver a week later between 11/20-22.Making round trip from NY-LA-SF-NY. You will not have to lift a finger...2 drivers/loaders on this truck. Please read feedback before making a decision. thanks thzig (10/30/2009)

Response: what would the amount of your bid be? (10/30/2009)

Response: I placed a bid for $1200 under thzig(80).Please check feedback and let me know. thanks Shlomo thzig (10/30/2009)

Question: Hi, Can you tell us the frieght elevator hours? Also is their a charge (after hours use charge?) Also how far is the building entrance from street. We are very familar with NYC Have set up many retail stores in manhattan. We will be leaving AZ heading to NY on 11-11 and can pick up on 11-12 NM. Delivery 7 to 9 days. Company based (LI NY)Are all items wrapped? Thank you TRSINC
(11/2/2009)

Response: The gate for the drive in ramp does close at closing hours for the management. However, there is a no parking zone outside of the freight elevator, that I think vans use. At least I see them there all the time. I have a key to the door for that elevator. So after or before normal business hours might be best.
As I remember, all is wrapped or boxed except for some pieces of furniture that will need to be wrapped. And boxes of art have instructions for their handling that must be followed. Very fragile.
however, I cannot commit to this move yet..Joan (11/2/2009)

Response: Ok Let us know We can do for $1,000 but need to know asap. Once were full were full. Thanks (11/2/2009)

Question: Hi, I have a truck coming through NM late Nov/early Dec and can provide a bid of $950. This includes all costs in labor. I am familiar with NYC, having lived on the UWS and Morningside Heights and find that weekends are preferable for drop off given traffic, accessibility of bridges (Manhattan), and also parking. Let me know what you think. Thanks! STeve (11/22/2009)

Response: Does that include unloading? I live on the 3rd floor- elevator building- in a two floor duplex. (11/22/2009)

Response: Sure! As long as I have this correct: you live in an elevator building on the 3rd floor. The unit is a duplex and the items will be taking up one flight of stairs. I know it sounds redundant but better to make sure. Are the items in NM all packed and ready to go? Steve (11/22/2009)

Response: They were packed in a u-haul trailer that I had to unpack into storage- quickly. How long before you need this answer? I am trying to get the funds. Joan (11/22/2009)

Response: I can wait until the end of the week but cannot guarantee space remaining on truck. Are want to make sure, though, since you are in NYC that the items in storage are already boxed and ready to go. Is this the case or is there packing that needs to be done? Steve (11/22/2009)

Response: The items have been in storage for a year. As I recall all items are in boxes or packed in different containers- for movement in a trailer behind a car, except for an occasional lamp or something. I am guessing here, trying to remember the move. The furniture will need to be wrapped in something, of course.
Most Important: Care would need to be taken with flat painting type boxes, and wrapped pieces. Those contain my art work ( I am a painter) and pastels. Pastel work is fragile- The right side(marked) must be up, etc. (11/23/2009)

Response: Okay, sounds good. I just wanted to make sure because if you are in NYC then there will obviously be someone else there to let me in, correct? Since I do not bring packaging materials with me on the road this would create a delay in other peoples shipment. I accept payment at loading so let me know if you have the funds and I will place a formal bid. Thanks! Steve (11/23/2009)
