Questions for this shipment:

Question: Is your boat loaded on the trailer shown? I have simular trailers and from the picture it doesn't look as if it is 16' high. Is 16' the actual height of your vessel? Thank you in advance, David R. Cline C-Line Transport Inc. (1/25/2008)
Response: Hi David, The boat is not on a trailer now, we are living aboard her currently bound for the Bahamas. My guess was 16 foot but it may be something less as I had it shipped from Marion SC to Toronto on the rig you see it on in the picture and it had no problem from there. I know there is 5'7" below the water line and we have about 6"3" head room in the boat, so if you add a few more inches for gear on deck you are probably closer to 14 feet overall. (1/25/2008)
Question: Sail to Rockport TX and I will make a package deal. Derig, load, transport, and unloading for 10,000.00. John(houseofboats) (2/2/2008)
Response: Sorry that would be a long trip from here for a tired old guy. (2/6/2008)
Response: OK Im a tired old guy too. how about 13,000 ft lauderdale to Anacortes? (2/6/2008)
Question: shipper I can give you verification of experience and many referrals for hauling this size boat, if your not happy with that I do it for free, and Ill put it in the contract (2/2/2008)
Question: I have searched it over and the absolute best I can do is give my 5% off offer to you saving 816.00.If somehow this will load at under 14'6" on the truck it would save 2000.00 or more by eliminating the front height pole escort. At over 15' loaded(if it is 14' it will be 15'4" on my trailer)we will have to have a route survey to get the permit at 1.50 mile then a front escort(1.50 mile) to go with the rear(1.30 per mile)I really don't see how I can do it for any less.At 14' wide and 14' high This is all I can offer. The route I will use will be thru Texas then up(based on my experience)and it is the best route for rating it will be a 3500 mile load.Anywhere around 5.00 per mile is a bargain. Thanks for considering and I do apreciate you giving me a second shot at it.tduncan55 (2/6/2008)
Response: Tom, I will do an accurate measurement and confirm height, but the Andrews Trucking trailer it was shipped on in the picture put it within legal height requirements from Marion SC to Toronto Canada. It was a low belly trailer . I am willing to pay you 50% up front, and you can keep your discount, for shipment at 13000. Otherwise I need to go with an offer from a trucking firm with a lower trailer. Your feedback is what keeps me trying. We are off to some remote Islands tommorow morning so I may not be able to get back to you in a while. But if you reconsider the new offer I will accept it from you as soon as I can get back on line. (2/6/2008)
Response: Great,We will have a deal, and furthermore you sound like the kind of customer I prefer, realistic,so the offer of 5% will stand. At under 14'6" it will make a lot of difference as I stated earlier. Thanks,I will place the bid.tduncan55 (2/7/2008)
Question: Also to clarify, the route survey is only needed in Fl and all required survey, escorts, permits, ect, where they are required, are included in the price.I will rebid. It will be in the same price area and you will get 850.00+ off of that(getting close to 15,000.If I find a way to save you more(reducing height) I will at loading.tduncan55 (2/6/2008)
Response: Tom, I sent this message attached to an earlier bid so please excuse the repetition. I just measured from the waterline to the highest point on the boat and it is 6 ft 8 inches. The draft of the boat is 5 ft 7 inches making the total height 12'3". I have amended the listing accordingly. That should be well below the 14'6" on your trailer and contribute to a 2000 savings without a pole car up front. My offer of 13000, with 50% upfront, still holds and you can keep the rebate. As mentioned earlier this should be right on target with your cost calculation, minus the pole car. I will be out of touch in the Exuma islands tommorow but will check in as soon as I get internet access. All the best....Peter (2/6/2008)
Response: Hope your trip is or has been going well, again I have rebid as desired, look forward to hearing from you when you get in...tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (2/11/2008)
Response: Tom, I have your bid. Couple of questions for you. Can you cover me to $400,000.00 and can you agree on a firm date for pick up and delivery. Thanks.....Peter (2/14/2008)
Response: I will get with my insurancer agent for the price of 100,000 additional ins. as soon as I can.I will be available next month after the 5th or so...to when you are ready.thanks (2/15/2008)
Question: Hi Peter,My bid is still active and I would like to fill in our schedule for May. The calader is open now so you pick the day. Yes our bid includes the 400k cargo insurance. We are new to u-ship, but old hands at boat transport. We are all sailors and can help with all aspects of rigging and derigging. John(houseofboats) (2/14/2008)
Question: Touching base,I am in transit to Ca and haven't called my agents yet on the additional insurance.I have been very busy.Just wanted to let you know I have not forgotten about you.tduncan55 (2/19/2008)
Response: 10-4 Tom, will be monitoring my email whenever we get the chance. Pete (2/19/2008)
Question: Ok,I have an answer on the additional insurance of 100,000.00 more total 400,000.00 coverage. The additional will cost 400.00 for the trip.Thanks,tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (2/20/2008)
Response: Tom, Thanks for looking into the insurance. So let's close in on this shipment. I will require confirmation before loading of insurance coverage to 400k. You have still offered a rebate if I pay 50% on loading, however with the increased cost of insurance I am satisfied that you can keep the rebate amount, notwithstanding that I will pay you 50% up front on loading and the remainder upon delivery based on a full price bid by you of $12,977.00. We have the pick up date firmed up for the 20 May 08 at River Bend Marina in Ft Lauderdale and the delivery location is Anacortes Marina in Anacortes, WA. Can you accomodate that date and when do you think you might get the boat to Anacortes based on that. Because the boat is also our home we would like to be able to plan for the number of days we will be without her. Thanks Tom, I will await your reply. Pete Burns (2/29/2008)
Response: No problem,I will confirm insurance at 4 days before loading to allow for paperwork with my insurance provider.Upon acceptance of the bid I will send a certificate of insurance at 300,000.00 and will add 100,000.00 prior to loading.I have a form at my website to be completed, you can attach our understanding of additional insurance agreement and I will sign it and provide insurance statement(additional 100,000.00) before loading. The May load date is no problem,I will need commitment(bid acceptance)and form filled out to proceed with sheduling in advance to be sure of pick up at your desired time.If you need more assurance of additional insurance I can give you my agents # and he can provide whatever you need for assurance...Thanks tduncan55 (3/1/2008)
Question: Hey Pete, Would you consider in the water delivery... could do Key Largo to Rockport, one option, for $2,500.00 (2guys) 0r Canal passage, 35-40 days, $12,000 (3guys)... owner welcome either trip, Remember.. no yard fees and no risk of trailering damage. Just delivered a 49' Catana Cat Big Island HI. to Anacortes, great deal of experience.. Caribe and Pacific. USCG lic. since 1986, live ,own 51' Morgan O/I in Key Largo. Capt. Wally Barbour (2/25/2008)
