Additional Information: The item that I need shipped is a 2002 41' Velocity Powerboat (similar to a Fountain or Cigarette style boat). The boat is sitting in Stonington, Conneticut, Zip Code = 06378 and I need it delivered to Youngstown, Ohio, Zip = 44515. The boat is sitting on an Aluminum triple axle trailer in great condition and very road worthy, but I'm most interested in having the boat/trailer loaded onto a low-boy/land-ALL to get it up and away from road debris and stones. Also, I will need to have the leading edges of the cover taped down to eliminate air getting uder it and flapping. The boat will be ready for pick-up on 2-8-09 in Stonington, CT. UPDATE: The Actual width of the boat on the trailer is 8'7" and highest point of the boat sitting on the trailer is approx. 8'10" and true length on the triler overall is approx. 46'. Thanks for looking. Report a Violation

Questions for this shipment:

Question: Dear Shipper, it may be wise to have the boat shrinkwrapped and not need to worry about road sand and stones.we have a landoll and if you put it on a landoll they have a 7%degree loading angle and more times than not the end of the trailer or drive skegs will drag on the tail.we ship many new boats with shrinkwrap to fl. with no problems, make sure whoever moves it for you has the needed correct insurance to cover you, remember you can't get blood out of a rcok!just a thought. bob@yachtsalvage (2/4/2008)
Response: Thank You for the advice, I've heard several varying opinions on the merit of shrink wrap and nobody seems to agree if it is worth it or if it will peel back and flap against the boat for the entire trip. Anyways, I don't really have a means to get it wrapped and need to get this boat home, but will entertain your quote to get this on a landoll trialer. The batteries are in theb oat and the drives can be brought all the way up, also; I've learned that a forklift is available and can probably be arranged to help load the boat. Thanks again and best regards (2/4/2008)
Response: dear shipper, a quality shrinkwrap job will make the trip with no problems ,key being quality and bringing the wrap below the bootstripe and using 6"tape along the leading bottom edge and all joining seams, and covering all sharp edges such as cleats on deck with carpet. expect to pay atleast ten dollars a foot for the boat to be wrapped. (2/4/2008)
Response: *PLEASE NOTE* I've just learned that the storage facility that the boat is sitting at has a forklift and large walking gantry/sling crane to lift the boat/trailer onto a semi-trailer......... and they're charging me for it one way or another. Considering the legal limit is 13'6" and the boat on the trailer is less than 8'8" at the highest, it could probably be put on a 48' or 53' flatbed trailer. Please let me know if this is possible. THANKS (2/5/2008)
Question: There are numerous marinas in the area of this pick up that can wrap this. We can arrange to have it done for you. Let us know, Thanks!! (2/4/2008)

Response: We cant use our low boy for this, It is not cost wise for this, We only use it for large cruisers, If you want to get the vessel shrink wrapped, we can pull it. Thanks !! (2/5/2008)
Question: How soon you need the boat transported? I can do it today towe behind with out shrink wraped traded for a waiver sign of paint chip for cheap (2/5/2008)
Response: Hello, I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately the boat will not be ready until thursday at the earliest. -thanks anyways, -Loreto (2/5/2008)
