What are the dimensions of the cradle?Report a Violation
Response: Hi, The cradle is 15'6" long and 8'6" wide. It is a bunk style cradle that has two positions, a high position for the boat with keel on (max height of bunks is about 9'6") and a low position for transport without the keel on (height is about 5'6") 11/16/2011Report a Violation
Response: What changes have you made to this shipment?11/26/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi, I recently purchased a 40' trailer for the boat (Holmes car hauler - triple axle, 15K GVW, brakes all around, 5th wheel but can be changed to gooseneck). I am not receiving a lot of bids on the tow and will purchase a tow vehicle (f-450)if I don't get a lot of movement on the shipment in the next week. Thanks for the question. 12/1/2011Report a Violation
Response: To be legal in BC, trailer MUST be 5th wheel if over all length of trailer exceeds 41'.6". Cannot be hauled by a "pickup", must be a tractor which defined by CVSE must weigh empty 4,000kgs. We can haul this anytime for you, however if you are looking for cheaper transportation, we would have to find something to tow that way. At this time of year it is slower due to roads, holidays coming up, etc. Mike JT Hotshotting12/1/2011Report a Violation
Hello shipper - do you have any pictures of the boat on the trailer with cradle? Has it been transported over any significant distance in this configuration? We are interested in this load, if the overall loaded height is no more than 14'. Can this be accomplished, on your trailer? What about the mast?Report a Violation
Response: The trailer is a 40' flatbed utility/carhauler trailer. It has not been transported before on this particular trailer but has been transported on this type of trailer. The trailer deck height is approx 3' off the ground and the boat loaded on the trailer is approximately 9'6" for a total of 12'6". This includes the mast, which is loaded on top of the boat with the base flush with the end of the hull and the tip flying out over the truck (mast is 64') I do not have pictures, sorry.11/21/2011Report a Violation
Response: Keel off is the only way to go if you are using a 3' high starting point for this boat - otherwise the center of gravity would be entirely too high. If this load is a 'hook and go' - i.e. loaded and secured by owner or the owner's agents we will bid for transport. All items must be secured in a manner acceptable to the owner or owner's agents, prior to pickup.11/21/2011Report a Violation
Response: Agreed - shipping on the boat's own trailer will be in the keel off position. The loading and securing will be by the owner but will need to be checked by the shipper prior to transport.11/21/2011Report a Violation
Response: Likely a few more straps would be added by me, as well. 1) Is the construction of the cradle steel or wood - age of cradle? 2) What is the year/make/model of the trailer and tagged GWVR? Is it registered in Canada or US? What state/province?11/22/2011Report a Violation
Response: Cradle is by Jowi Sailboat Support Systems and is steel tube construction (6" tubes) 10 yrs old, in good condition. I do not have the trailer info with me, can provide when available. It is 15K GVWR. It is currently a US trailer and will be registered in Canada/ON.11/22/2011Report a Violation
Response: can we assume that it will have Canadian plates affixed as well? I have hauled many oversize loads across US and Canada as feedback suggests, but am currently 'stuck' on the mast length...I can envision serious problems when turning in tight quarters.11/22/2011Report a Violation
Response: Hi, Trailer will have Ontario plates and will meet all the standards. I agree that the mast overhang is the biggest issue, but it can be loaded so that the turn issue is minimized. Max length of load and truck will be between 67' and 73 ft depending on the tow vehicle (e.g. with an F-450 crew cab it is 67')12/1/2011Report a Violation
Response: Since the load originates and terminates in Canada, I'll pass in favor of a Canadian hauler (who will probably bring the boat through the states, anyway...) Best of luck.12/1/2011Report a Violation
