Questions for this shipment:

Question: Will you need a lift gate at delivery? (10/12/2007)
Response: There is no equipment at the delivery site, a residence, for offloading the pallets. So if the truck does not have a lift gate the boxes will need to be removed by hand. The other possibility would be for me to see if I can locate a rental forklift to be on hand at time of delivery. (10/12/2007)
Question: I could pick this shipment up on 10/17 and deliver on 10/18. I have a fully enclosed car trailer, so loading/unloading would have to be by hand. I will assist in that if someone at each end will also. $700 total price. Need to know soon for scheduling. Rick (10/12/2007)
Response: Hello Rick--would it be possible to load the pallets into your trailer at pickup and then hand unload the shipment at the delivery point? I can arrange to have help on hand at the delivery point. Thanks, Bill (10/13/2007)
Response: Bill, if you click my username, you can see photos of my trailer. It is not possible to have a forklift enter the trailer. (10/13/2007)
Response: I was thinking more along the lines of the forklift setting the pallets on the end of your trailer then sliding them back into the trailer. Is that possible? (10/13/2007)
Response: Actually, no, that would not work. The door folds down from the bottom, and there is a slight gap, and there are tie down rings, and e- track mounted in the floor, so sliding would not work at all. Sorry, but the only way it would work in this trailer is by hand. Rick (10/13/2007)
Response: The woman who arranged this shipment had it taken to her son's workplace, where the boxes were shrinkwrapped onto the four pallets. As such, I can't guarantee there will be someone at the pickup point to help load the boxes since the shipment really has nothing to do with this company. I can only arrange for assistance at the delivery point. Sorry, Bill (10/13/2007)
Response: I understand. It is probably better that they stay on the pallets. Rick (10/13/2007)
Question: Can I unload the pallets and put the boxes of books into my 26ft box truck? I can unpack the pallets by hand then put the empty pallets and boxes onto my truck. To transport them. If this can be done. I have plenty of man power and can pick up the items on Monday and have them delivered a couple of days later. Thanks Mike TRE Hauling (10/14/2007)
Response: Hello Mike--Yes, that would work for me. However, these books are going to my daughter's home and she is out of town Tuesday through Thursday of this week. So let me know if a later pickup than Monday and delivery on Friday would work for you. Also, please let me know your payment options as I live in Kansas City. If you don't take credit cards, I can arrange for my daughter to pay you upon delivery. Thanks, Bill (10/14/2007)
Response: If I can still pick up on Monday, I can hold off delivery until Friday or Saturday for delivery. As far as payment goes, She can pay me 100% upon delivery using cash (preferred) or check. Or I can send you an invoice though pay pay and would charge you an extra 3%. The total for doing it that way would still be under 700.00. I am biased out of Springfield MO, but make trips to CA pretty often. Let me know if this will work for you. The latest I could pick up the books would be Tuesday morning. I have some items I need to drop off in OR and WA, so I need to head up that way as soon as possible. Thanks, Mike TRE Hauling (10/14/2007)
Response: If you are out of Springfield, MO, what would be your charge to bring the boxes back to Kansas City instead of Medford, OR? Thanks, Bill (10/14/2007)
Response: I could bring them back to the Midwest. I am leaving CA and headed to NY the first of November then back to CA. So I would not be able to do it until the end of November. I would probably charge a couple of hundred more. Total bid would be around 900.00. Would you prefer it to go to KC? Did you want a couple of pallets to go to OR? I can work with you on the price if you just wanted to pallets to go to OR. Would a Monday morning pick up still work to go to OR? Let me know. If we can work out plans tonight if you wanted the items to go to OR. That would help and even if all of it went to OR. I could probably cut you a deal. I just won another id going up there. I could take a hundred off my bid if we can work something out. Mike (10/14/2007)
Response: Thanks Mike. I would have to first check with the business where the pallets are sitting to see if they would let them two of them sit there until the end of November. Nevertheless, in the interim, please do let me know what two pallets to Oregon and the other two to KC would run. I have both of them in separate listings already posted, so you can get the size of each pallet, etc. However, I think a pickup tomorrow morning with a delivery to Medford, OR on Friday will probably work out best. Consequently, I'll cancel your initial bid so you can repost the $100 off on your deal to Oregon. Then we'll be set to go in the morning. I'll arrange for a cash payment upon delivery. Much appreciated, Bill (10/14/2007)

Question: I placed another bid. I can be up in San Fransisco late afternoon to pick up the books. Let me know if late afternoon works for you. I will call you after I receive your information after you accept my bid. Thanks, for your business. Mike. (10/14/2007)
Response: Thanks Mike--your new bid did come through, twice no less. I'll call the company where the books are stored in the morning to make sure all is cleared with them. If it's a go I'll accept your bid by noon west coast time, which should give you plenty of time to contact me. Best regards, Bill (10/14/2007)
