Questions for this shipment:

Question: Listing is complete except for box count? What are the best dates for this? (12/7/2008)
Response: I have a more comprehensive list with box counts; figure that I will need nearly the entire truck. The weight may vary from 13,000 to perhaps 16,000 lbs. The move date appears to be February 7th. Can you guaranty the move date and what is the range of time for delivery? I would like a quote for cost per pound. I will want to know if I am the only load going in the truck. Base your quote on a weight of 13,000 lbs however, if the wieght should be less, I would expect a credit. Likewise, if the weight were higher I would expect to pay a commiserate cost per pound. (12/18/2008)
Response: Uship prices are not permitted to be per pound, but must be "flat rate, all inclusive". The per pound pricing is very deceptive, and many moving companies use that to give a low ball estimate, so that they get your job. Then at the end it is "Oh sorry, your load was underestimated, and you now owe $XXXXX>XX more." (12/18/2008)
Response: Understood, please review my revised listing and when you respond please indicate what size truck you are bringing and what portion of the truck you are allocating to the move. I am concerned that on the day of the move we will discover that the truck is too small. (1/20/2009)
Question: To cut down on boxes, leave clothing in the drawers of the dressers. (12/7/2008)
Response: Agreed, please review the revised listing as I think that it better depicts the contents of the move. Please indicate in your bid the sized truck you will be bringing, the space allocated to this move and the delivery window if you were to leave the house fully packed on 2/7. Also, do you move cars, I have one 2 seater convertible and an SUV. (1/20/2009)
Response: With your revised list, this will take me a 24 ft and a 15 ft truck. That would then allow me to haul both of the vehicles. Once I get back in the office next week, I will get this priced out for you. On the road from Mass to Fla this week. (1/20/2009)
Question: Hi, we can do a pickup Toms River NJ any day (we are local) and deliver your shipment to Chandler AZ within 5-12 days. We will professionally pack all your furniture with moving blankets, we will do itemized inventory of all your goods, load, deliver your belongings to AZ, unload, unpack, re-assemble everything, what we disassemble on a pickup. Licensed, Insured, Look forward for your feedback. References available upon request. Our price is FINAL and includes everything described. No Hidden Costs. No Surprises. Also we will provide you with 5 complimentary wardrobe boxes ( for your clothes) and we will professionally pack all your tv's with bubble wrap and special tv boxes. Please let us know if that is OK with you? Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. What are your target moving dates? Thank you, 1stMoving. (12/7/2008)
Response: I am intending to bring a few more pieces of furniture and I need a better handle on the box count before I will feel comfortable with any quote. It would be great if I could attach an excel spreadsheet with the exact items and measurements however, that appears to be an issue on this site. As an alternative, what is the maximum weight that you have included in your quote; what are the charges if the weight goes higher recognizing that the item count is now different (12/18/2008)
Response: Thanks for response, I replace our bid. As I said we prefer to work with a flat price, based on inventory provided. If you will have more items, you have to let us know in advance, in order to reserve space on a truck. Also, if you want it by weight, we can do that as well. Our price will be .45 per lb + packing materials ( boxes, crates etc). Please, let us know if you would like to schedule. Thanks, 1stMoving (12/18/2008)
Response: target move date is February 7th and I am looking for a mover that will be bringing a large truck. I do not want to be short of space on the day of the move. What is your largest truck size and you be using this for my move? (12/21/2008)
Response: Thanks for response, we will use 51' ft semi trailer. Thanks, 1stMoving (12/21/2008)
Response: Please check the revised listing, I would like to move pretty quickly as we are fast approaching the date. Please indicate how much of the truck you will be allocating to the move and what the window will be for delivering my items. Also, do you ship cars as I have two to go. (1/20/2009)
Response: Thanks for response, NO we don't ship cars, we will re-place our bid for your household only. With a pickup on Feb. 7-th, we can deliver your shipment Feb. 10-14. Thanks, 1stMoving (1/20/2009)
Response: Thanks, the move is nearly 2500 miles so my plans are to be in Arizona the night of the 11th. (1/20/2009)
Question: Hi shipper, can do for $5000 only your loading/unloading. Will provide you with a 53ft trailer totaly for your move. Thank you. (12/7/2008)
Response: I am expecting to move on February 7th; I have a more complete list on excel however, I am unable to link it to the response. I expect the contents of my home to weigh in between 12 and 16,000 lbs. Kind of a wild range what amount of weight is included in your quote? If I go beyond that, what are the additional charges by pound. I am going to take up nearly the entire truck and so one of my questions is; would my load be the only load on the truck? Also, does this quote include breaking down and wrapping of furniture; unloading and set up of furniture, tariffs, taxes, tolls, fuel, pads. I will purchase boxes and have them ready in advance to your arrival. Do you guaranty time of arrival? I will need the movers to arrive on February 8th; if they come later we will collide with the folks who are moving in. What amount of time is required for delivery (12/18/2008)
Response: First of all, I need to make sure if there is anything preventing semi truck access (pickup and delivery also)?. There is no additional charge for anything. 53 ft trailer entirely for your move, no other loads would be on the truck. Our quote doesn't include wrapping, packing, loading/unloading. Only includes driving and 6 hours free detention time on each end (after 6 hours $30/hour).[NOTE: Per uShip rules, bids must be all inclusive. –uShip] We'll guarantee time of arrival, but delivery on 8th is kind of impossible if we get loaded on 7th. There are 2500 miles, that would require 3-4 days driving. So take it into consideration when you want the truck to arrive for loading. Let us know if you have any more questions. Thank you. (12/18/2008)
Question: Wardrobe boxes are for clothes, not heavy tools. Rule of thumb. If you can't lift it, it's too heavy. (12/8/2008)
Response: Sorry, I can't compete with $.46 per pound. (12/18/2008)
Response: Understood (1/20/2009)
Response: I was looking into how I might be able to do this. Do you have some idea of how much space you will need on a 53' truck? (1/20/2009)
Response: If the load is 15,000 lbs that would translate into perhaps 30-34 feet. You might be able to get the rag top in the truck but there would have to be a reasonable way to maintain separation from the load and the car. (1/20/2009)
Response: Are you saying w/ the 2 vehicles, it would be 15,000lbs? (1/20/2009)
Response: No, without the vehicles I think that it may be as much as 15,000 lbs. (1/20/2009)
Response: Please list dimensions of vehicles, and weight. Thanks. (1/22/2009)
Response: I would be willing to put one car on the truck; this particular car is small weighing in at 3,197lbs; the length is 161.9" width 70.1" and height 51.3". We will need to move on the 6th not the 7th and i would need to truck to arrive in the morning. Let me know if this still works and confirm the cost. (1/22/2009)
Response: Date and time not a problem. What are you doing with the other vehicle? (1/22/2009)
Response: The other vehicle demension is 188.5" long 75.2" wide and 71.5" tall. Do you still think you can fit both cars and household items of 15,000 lbs (1/22/2009)
Response: Not sure yet. What will you do with other vehicle if not on truck? (1/22/2009)
Question: are you still looking for movers (12/8/2008)
Response: Yes, please see revised listing (1/20/2009)
Question: Hello Shipper, are you still looking to ship this and what is your target price? Thanks, John, Midnight Vanlines. (12/17/2008)
Response: I am looking at a move on February 7th. I will need to know if you can guaranty pick up date. What the time frame is in delivering the load. What your price per pound is; presently I am at 46 cents a pound. Estimate weight at 13,000 lbs however, I may need to go to 16,000 lbs. Figure I will need nearly the entire truck. Note that I am going to Chandler Arizona from Toms River New Jersey. (12/18/2008)
Response: Hello Shipper, I can devote a completely empty 53' Kentucky Trailer to this job for you. This trailer holds 3900 Cubic Feet or about 23,000 LBS. It is also equipped with everything used in the moving industry. This is not a freight trailer, but a moving trailer. I also can meet your EXACT ship date as long as we arrange that date now. After load it will be a direct path to Phoenix where we are headquartered. I can match your .46 cents per pound for this offer. There should be plenty of room to spare as this trailer can take an 8 Bedroom House. We will have a minimum weight of 11,000 lbs for this offer. Please let me know if you have any questions, thanks. John, Midnight Movers, Phoenix, AZ. (12/18/2008)
Question: Just so you know. It will take a 48ft with extra height to load all your things. This is why I want to bring two trucks to get cars as well. (12/20/2008)
Response: Will the cars fit in one truck separately? And then my household goods in another. Please review the final listing; as more detail was provided. Also, if one car is to go in each of the trucks; what sort of separation will exist to protect the vehicles from shifting boxes etc. One car is a convertible, so a box on the roof would translate into disaster. (1/20/2009)
Response: Yes your household goods will go in one truck with four tie-downs on each car and then some household stuff will also fit into that trailer as well, but there will be a divider that seperates the cars and the household goods as well. Seth (1/20/2009)
Question: Hello Shipper, did you have an answer to my question? Thanks, John, Midnight Movers, Phoenix, AZ. (12/20/2008)
Response: i do not see your question (12/21/2008)
Response: Hello Shipper, here was the question. I can devote a completely empty 53' Kentucky Trailer to this job for you. This trailer holds 3900 Cubic Feet or about 23,000 LBS. It is also equipped with everything used in the moving industry. This is not a freight trailer, but a moving trailer. I also can meet your EXACT ship date as long as we arrange that date now. John, Midnight Movers, Phoenix, AZ. (12/21/2008)
Response: Please review the revised listing as I think that this better depicts what I am trying to move. Also, can you tell me what portion of the truck you will be dedicating to my move; I am a bit concerned that we will run out of room. Lastly, what is the delivery window if your truck leaves the house on 2/7/2009. Lastly, do you move cars, I have one 2 seater convertible and an SUV. (1/20/2009)
Response: Hello Shipper. Thanks for your response. To answer your question, there's a very good chance we can take all your items and your cars. We are in position to have our 53' Kentucky Trailer Bertha in your area and can be there on the day of your choice. Our trailer is 4600 Cubic Feet. NO TRAILER is larger then this. A typical trailer is about 3700 cubic feet. I'm 95% percent certain that we can fit your entire job and 2 cars in this trailer. We have put as much as 20,000 lbs and 2 cars in the past. I can devote the entire trailer to you. This means we will load on the day of your choosing and then depart for Chandler with no stops between. Of course this trailer is fully equipped for moving. We are also a Phoenix based company with an excellent BBB report and $100,000 of Cargo insurance. We would need to know soon if you would like to book with us in order to achieve your exact shipping date. Thanks, John, Midnight Movers, Phoenix, AZ. (1/20/2009)
Response: I think that it would be a stretch to fit two cars and my entire home. I would feel comfortable in saying that one car would fit with my things. How do you stack things so high without crushing the contents below; do you have shelves that you put in. How do you separate the household goods from the car so that there is not damage; what is holding the items apart. (1/20/2009)
Response: Hello shipper. We are able to build tiers in the trailer. These tiers can be set up anywhere in the trailer at varying heights. Anything can be put on these tiers as well as cars. After the car is placed in the trailer, it is then ratcheted down and can not move at all. Please let me know what make and model of SUV and car you have. It is also possible to build the tiers over the car. This allows us to reclaim space. Also, you can put items in your SUV and car. Now, if you can imagine this our trailer is 25% larger then your typical semi trailer. This is like having a 66' Normal trailer. As for the furniture, all items are blanketed and tied into the trailer. They will not even be close to the cars, with the final furniture either being tied off or walled off with plywood. I am most confident we can fit your two vehicles and household items. Even so at the time of booking I can send someone out to look. If the car does not fit, I will pay to have it brought individually. (1/21/2009)
Question: Did you ever wonder why or how someone's bid can change so much in a short period of time. I have no clue. Maybe there rates change really fast. (12/22/2008)
Response: Please review the revised listing as I think that this better depicts the contents of the move. Also, please let me know what equipment you will be using, the amount of space allocated to the move and the delivery window if you were to leave the house on 2/7. Lastly, do you move cars? (1/20/2009)
Response: We can make that date happen for you and will be there the night before to get started doing a inventory list. Also the cars are not a problem. We will fit everything and the cars as well. Seth (1/20/2009)
Question: hello, i just reviewed your listing and I see alot of problems that you might run into. First thing is that your move will take up more space thatn what a semi trailer has. So with taken into effect I know that a semi and a large box truck offered along with service from UnitedVan lines would be close to 16,000 to move you. Now as a independent mover i can if you allow me to do your move in two trip with my 48 foot trailer. Both loads will be back to back and will include loading and unloading. Realistically if money is what you are trying to save along with keeping the stress down I am sure you can agree with me that it may be better to let me do my thing and help you out. My price will be around the 9k mark but atleast there will be no what if attached to it! Get back to me with your toughts and let me help you out. (1/20/2009)
Response: A 51 foot truck can move 28,000 lbs of household goods, United did not think that i would take up more then 30 feet of the truck; so what you are saying does not resonate. In viewing your site, i can see that you drag trailers with pick up trucks and so i can understand why it would take two loads. For your information, the united quote was $8,000 (1/20/2009)
Response: you were under qouted big time. I am reading you inventory and look at it this way if you had to get a storage unit for you stuff do you think a 10 by 30 unit would hold everthing? I drove for united van lines for 4 yrs and the reason i dont work for them anymore is because i was the one that had to tell my customer that the est. was wrong and that they would owe almost twice as much. Switch and bait is what i called it and that is why i quit. So ask yourself the realistic question. "If i had to store this stuff how many units would it take and how big would they be." And my trailer is only 4 feet smaller than a semi so if 30 feet is what you know will hold your stuff I would do your move for 5K. But if it wen over that then what? (1/20/2009)
Response: Thank you for your feedback. (1/20/2009)
Question: What are the dimensions of the vehicles, and weight? (1/20/2009)
Question: Hi, Thank you for the re-bid request. If your inventory is correct we would be able to transport 1 auto safely in our truck along with your household goods. You can check our feedback which I believe speaks for itself but the most important thing to check is DOT and MC numbers. Both of these numbers are a Federal requirement to transport household goods legally across state lines. Even with these numbers the carrier must be registered for household goods and not just freight. I hope this information helps. Thanks, Kris (1/21/2009)
Question: Hello shipper! Please keep in mind that the longer you wait the higher the price is going to get with some. It helps if we know so we can plan a return load back home. I understand you want a good price, but you do not want just anyone showing up and moving you. We will take the time to do thing proper and not run the price up. Our price will not change from what we have bid. Thanks Seth (1/22/2009)
Response: Hi Seth, Please confirm the type of equipment you will be using; my load may weigh 15,000lbs. Also, please indicate if I am the only load on the truck. Lastly, I will need to move on February 6th, can your truck show up in the morning? (1/22/2009)
Response: Hello! We will be using one 48ft moving van with a ramp door with a tri axle set up. Then one 28ft truck with ramp door for one car, the other car will go in the other truck at the end of the load. A divider will seperate the load from the cars as well. We will be there on the 6th bright and early and will be ready to load your things. We will have a total or four people and should take us about 6hours to load. All padding and wrap will be included as well.. Seth (1/22/2009)
Response: Please confirm the total cost inclusive of cars (1/22/2009)
Response: I will do for a total for of $8700. This includes both cars and insurance for both cars and $100k on your household goods. We will be there on the 6th to load and will deliver when you are ready. Thanks Seth (1/22/2009)
Question: When did you plan to commit to a provider? Still working on our schedule for now! (1/22/2009)
Question: Hello Shipper, We can move hour house hold items, and one of your vehicles in our 40ft enclosed trailer with full padding and wrapping of your furniture. Door to Door service for $6600. If you would like us to pick up your other vehicle, we can deliver it one week later for $850. We are Fully Insured up to $150K and are fully DOT compliant. Only Your items will be on our trailer. We can be there as early as you need us on the 6th and can meet you on your delivery dates. If you are interested in our service, please let me know so I can place a formal bid. Thank You, Michael (1/23/2009)
Response: How many cubic feet of space is available on this truck and how would you go about fitting 15,000 lbs of household items and a small car. Do you use racking and what type of separation would exist between the car and the furniture. Thank you? (1/23/2009)
Response: We have 2300 Cubic feet, and use a plywood divider between furniture and car. What is the length of the car you would ship? Thank You, Michael (1/23/2009)
Question: Wow you have a lot of items to ship. Will you be deciding on a provider soon? Will have truck in area next week expected. Click on name to review all feedback. (1/23/2009)
