Question: Hello shipper, we are Southern Maryland Moving out of Newburg, Md.
We are family operated and owned, my name is Mike Garrett and I am
the owner and the driver that would personally be transporting your items. Please check out our profile and feedback, we take pride in our service. Our rate might be a little more than others, however you are paying for excellent service and piece of mind. Our rate would be 7,500 hundred, as long as the list of items is pretty accurate. We understand that sometimes there might a couple items left out and that is fine as long as it's not a whole lot more.
Should have any questions please feel free to ask. Thank you, Mike-Clnbiker

Question: We will work out a plan of action to accommodate you. We carry $1,000,000.00 of liability insurance and insure cargo at up to $50,000.00, at no additional cost to the customer. We transport all items in a 42ft enclosed carrier that has 110v lighting, climate control, and alarm system. The trailer can hold approx. 2000 cubic ft. of cargo at up to 35,000 lbs. I am an owner of the company and would employ one other professional strong male mover to assist in loading, organizing, and unloading. We would give you a daily status updates while items are in transit, along with providing you with 24 hr business contact number. What is a price that is fair to us, yet one that you are comfortable enough with to accept our bid immediately? ~ SAG Industries Inc~ (11/8/2008)

Response: What else is included with your trucks? Are there furniture pads and stuff like that? What about putting a car on the truck to be transported with our stuff? We have accepted a bid from a company that can transport our car on the truck with our stuff, but if you can beat that bid we might consider switching! I need a bid that would include EVERYTHING...gas tolls etc etc! If you can beat 5,000 that would be great! :)
Thanks! (11/8/2008)

Response: Our trailer is designed for both household goods and vehicles. If you take the time to click on the number next to our screen name on this site you will find jobs we have done in the past for Uship customers that involved both household goods and vehicles being shipped together. We would like to take the job for less than $5000.00, but we worry about the road conditions this time of year once north and west of Denver. We just returned a month ago from Seattle, WA with another Uship customer’s 15,000 lbs of household goods and winter was just about to come on. There are mountain grades up to 12% and snow chains are required past November--it’s a dangerous time to go that way. We can handle it, but the harsh conditions should pay a premium in all fairness. We will work with you on this if you can give us the best price that will commit us the job--we believe we can beat the other company you have booked. We blanket-wrap and are very careful. Please let us know ASAP. Thanks, SAG Industrie (11/8/2008)

Response: Give me a bid that you think is fair and if it works for us we will accept.
Thanks! (11/8/2008)

Response: We feel that $6500 is fair considering the time of year and weight and size of the load. Vehicles alone have a going rate of 75cents per mile, so your request to take the vehicle with the household goods should increase the price substantially. We imagine you know what a larger carrier such as Mayflower or Allied would charge you just for the household goods, so we can speak candidly about this. I was a public accountant before becoming the CFO of this company and watch the numbers carefully. We have expenses in the excess of 10k per month and must be careful. We respect your thriftiness in seeking out the best price; I am the same with my own family. $6500 is fair but we offer $6000 for household goods and the vehicle if you can meet us halfway. We would like to work with you and are experienced in pulling rigs in those high mountain ranges--I will drive this delivery in its entirety myself. Let us know. Thanks, Jerry ~SAG Industries Inc~ (11/8/2008)

Question: If you have already booked a company to move you, why, why waste everyone's time to bid?????? We do not play games here, we are trying to work and make a living. If we were to move you, $7500. (11/8/2008)

Response: Well gosh that sure wasn't nice! We didn't find our movers from this! I understand that you're not playing games and you're working to make a living...we are trying to be wise with our money and get the best deal because...SHOCKER...we work to make a living too!! :) And $7500? Really? (11/8/2008)

Question: Craig,
We do not require payment until delivery, but payment will be required immediately upon unloading on site. Most Uship customers pay us by personal check or cash, but a money order or cashier’s check is fine too. If you desire to pay by credit card we will allow this form of payment, but there will be an additional fee of 3% if this form of payment is chosen. The bank charges us 3% to process the credit card transaction so we ask you reimburse us for that loss of revenue if you must pay via credit card. We are willing to work with you in coming to terms on a final price. We want to beat your offsite bid, but please do not beat us up too badly. I too have a wife and two daughters to provide for. Look forward to hearing from you, Jerry ~SAG Industries Inc~

Response: Just a few more questions...Is the truck an "air-ride" truck? Are there furniture pads and straps and all that provided? Would you be able to pick up on Dec 1st and drop off about the 7th, or as close thereafter that you can? We feel that with help loading and unloading and with the car that $6500 is very fair as long as the dates work.
Let me know!
Thanks! (11/9/2008)

Response: We use a specialty trailer that enables a diverse range of cargo, from household goods to vehicles to ATVs etc. It has many benefits over the typical semi moving van trailer with air-ride. The trailer is not 40,000 lbs like a van trailer nor is it 4ft off the ground so it rides much better than a van trailer--even one with air-ride. The trailer's suspension is Independent Torsion Suspension (ITS). Therefore, having each wheel independent of the other 5 dramatically reduces the shock transferred to the trailer as a whole (the cargo) if a pothole is hit, as the bounce will not be transferred to the other wheels. Also, trailers equipped with ITS trailing arm suspension bounce less due to the characteristics of the rubber absorbing medium. This is the same system used on large 5th wheel camper trailers which must allow for dishes, televisions, etc to remain in place while the unit is in motion. Response: Put your bid in and we'll accept it! :) Everything sounds SO great and we're excited to have found you! (11/9/2008)

Response: Hello, this is Erin with SAG Industries Incorporated. We have submitted the bid as you requested and we look forward to your acceptance. We have outlined terms and conditions that within the bid contract. Please read over it when accepting the bid. We have allowed for extra time in driving with your items from VA to MT. We will move as fast as safely possible, but we anticipate up to 9 days needed for delivery. One the other hand, we could deliver as soon as 6 days if conditions are optimal. Once the bid is accepted, Uship will release contact information and we will send you our 24 hr business line. Feel free to call us with any questions or concerns and we will be calling to confirm the details of the job well in advance of pickup. Thank you for you business and we look forward to earning your positive feedback. Sincerely, Erin ~ SAG Industries Incorporated (11/9/2008)

Question: The trailer we would use weighs only 15,000lbs and the floor is less than 12 inches from the ground. It does not have the huge shock to dampen like a 40,000 lb semi van and being lower allows for less sway and bounce, not to mention much easier loading. The trailer is equipped with two oversized pedestrian doors on the side in addition to the large 7ft x 8 ft loading ramp on the rear--this makes for easy loading of heavy household goods. The entire back door of the trailer folds down on spring cable and acts as a ramp for driving vehicles inside (the vehicle actually drives up the trailer's rear door). The trailer's floor has steel D-rings for tying down vehicles and diamond plating to eliminate movement, i.e., sliding of household goods. The trailer also has 200 cubic ft of goose area for storage of boxes or tubs etc. (To be continued) ~SAG Industries Inc~ (11/9/2008)

Question: Your vehicle would be loaded last after the household goods and tied down to the trailer's D-rings on the floor with soft nylon ratchet straps that are rated to 10,000lbs. The vehicle would then be covered with auto care cover. The boxes would be loaded first in the goose area with the furniture following. The soft wood furniture would be wrapped in blankets and then shrink wrapped. We provide the blankets, along with dollies and hand trucks. We will load everything, drive, and unload. However, we request that you have all items boxed and taped that you desire have boxed when we arrive. We can accommodate you in your dates but ask for more time to deliver. If we pick up on the 1st, we would not depart your area until rested on the following day. The federal government restricts our driving time and on duty time, and we must keep logs that are audited annually. Driving will be slow in mountain ranges (as slow as 10 mph in stretches).
