Additional Information:
We need to move between June 10 and June 16, 2009. Please give an estimate. I got an estimate of 14,000 pounds from a national moving company. I will need to meet you in person first on Bainbridge Island, WA to see the house to make an accurate bid. We need to decide soon!
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
It is not possible to give you a good bid without a list of items. I pack tight plus I take furniture apart when possible. I use a truck with a 8'x8'x24' box with lift gate. I could give you a bid base on these dimensions. Thanks. (5/11/2009)
Response:
Hello... we have had professional moving companies do bids and it is just a fortune. I can tell you that we are looking at 14,150 pounds. Can you give a bid on that? We will do the majority of the packing. And we would like insurance. Please respond. Thank You, Derek (5/11/2009)
Response:

Response:
You did not ask a question. Did you want to discuss? (5/11/2009)
Response:
Sorry. Somehow I sent it blank. Big companies pay commission to local moving companies with low wages workers who do bidding, packing and move items to their warehouse where it gets transfer into a 53ft trailer belonging to the parent company that does interstate moving. I don’t pack small items or lamps in boxes. I disassemble furniture & wrap large items with blankets making sure it is loaded properly for the long trip. I can not drive a truck with a gross weight over 26,000lbs so unless I do two trips I will not be able to bid. A would charge $3,000 for a full truck packed tight loading/unloading included to San Francisco. If I could load you on the 25th of May I would charge you $2,000 since I have to go that way to load a family on 5/28 who is moving to Bellevue. If you need another trip I would be $2,000 for half, $3,000 for full. Let me know soon and I would bid. Thanks. (5/11/2009)
Response:
The 25th might be possible. Earlier than we wanted. How do you do insurance. We need $100,000 insured for the 14,000 pounds. (5/11/2009)
Question:
You say we have to meet in your notes but uship won't allow a meeting until a bid is accepted....Your position on this site won't work like that...What did you change other than that???...Mark (5/11/2009)
Response:
Thanks for the feedback. Did not know that. Well, what I meant is that once I accept a bid I will want to meet. Not sure if the site will allow me to edit my listing while there is a bid. I am going to accept your bid and see if it lets me edit the listing to explain this. (5/11/2009)
Response:
Can we book this with you?...Mark (5/15/2009)
Response:
I am looking for more of a $4250 price tag. We will pack everything perfectly, and protect the valuables well on our own. Let me know. (5/16/2009)
Response:
Hello again,I went to $4,500 and need to know as soon as possible to cancel other bids out there if you want me to do your move please as this is a big load and you should book soon anyway....I'm now booked until the 8th of June shopping my next load...Hope this works for you now...Mark (5/16/2009)
Response:
OK, I am about to accept your bid to discuss further. I have never done that on this site. Is the money refundable if we don't seal the deal. Once I accept the bid, are we allowed to talk on the phone today? (5/16/2009)
Question:
Thanks for the bid request. I will be leaving San Diego with a load to Blaine Wa. on the 25th and I have a return trip planned for the following week right after I stop home in Sequim. I would have to move you in 2 trips and it would run you around $6000 dlrs. Please let me know if you think this might work. Jerry @ WEDIG4U (5/11/2009)
Response:
No thank you. Seems to be a little high. Might come back to you though. I just realized I cannot give out a phone number and I did to another mover. Getting clearer on the rules... (5/12/2009)
Response:
Thanks again I hope to hear back from you in the near future. It's just tough to bid on your move without a list. Jerry (5/12/2009)
Question:
As one of the guys who explained about the process about the big moving companies. Guess what, most of the time they do exaggerate of the weight of you move by a lot! If I were you, list your household items that you are moving by filling out the inventory list Uship provides. That will help us big time to give you an accurate quote. There is no way you would want to accept a bid and pay the deposit just for someone to come look at it. After I see what you have listed, then I would give you an all inclusive bid in which there will be no additional charges at all! Do figure out how many boxes you will be packing in to include that into the inventory list. Hope this info helps! I am going to assume that it is a regular 4 bedroom home. Any real heavy stuff? Thank you! Dave (5/12/2009)
Response:
Are you saying that I need to make some kind of commitment financially before somebody comes to the house? (5/12/2009)
Response:
Yes, when you accept a bid, you will be required to pay a deposit with Uship in order to get our information or the other service providers' information and we will get your information of contact numbers and such. So, it is important to fill out the inventory list provided on here of the items you are moving out of the home. Thanks! (5/12/2009)
Question:
Thank you for your bid request! Please provide us with a listing of the items or an estimate for the total weight. We'd be most happy to give you a quote. Thanks again! (5/12/2009)
Response:
About 14,000 pounds was estimated by a national company. (5/12/2009)
Response:
Thank you for your response! We'll bid soon. Thanks again (5/16/2009)
