Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Does the trailer have electric brakes on all three axles? This is a gooseneck and not a semi stepdeck, right? (9/10/2008)
Response:
Hi, The trailer does have electric brakes. It is a gooseneck trailer. I hope this helps. Shelley (9/11/2008)
Response:
Everything looks great. See my bid. (9/11/2008)
Question:
Dear shipper, I can't tell from the picture but this doesn't look like an RV 5th wheel, is it? Just FYI a gooseneck trailer has a gooseneck hitch not a 5th wheel. A 5th wheel trailer has a 5th wheel hitch, hence the names they go by. Myabe you know what kind of tractor they were pulling this with before that would be some help and a picture of the hitch area would be the BOMB! Thanks for you helping out an old trailer tower. John (9/10/2008)
Response:
Hi John, Sorry for any confusion. This is not a typical gooseneck trailer as we had issues in the past with the truck not having the correct hitch to pull it. I know a dooly truck does work. The last shipper told me to list it like this so to be sure the next shipper wouldn't have issues. We had an additional hitch built as I mentioned before we had an issue with the truck unable to connect. The trailer also has electrical brakes if that means anything. That was also an issue and we had to install something in the truck so the trailer could be pulled. Sorry I am not much help, this is all new to me. Shelley (9/11/2008)
Response:
Shelly you did real good! Yes the truck needs an electric brake controler to activate the brakes on the trailer. It's not perfectly clear which hitch it requires but I have all of them so it's not an inssue for me. Let me see where I am ending up today and if I can get close to the trailer I'll submit a bid. I assume you want to get this moved in a timly manor? Thanks John (9/11/2008)
Response:
Hi John, Thank you. The trailer will be moved from the Cleveland Expo Ctr apx noon on Monday and needs to be pulled into the Charlotte Expo at noon on Tuesday. Thanks again Shelley (9/11/2008)
Response:
Shelly, there won't be any teamster union issues at either end will there? John (9/11/2008)
Response:
Hi John, No there are no union issues. at 1 event we had to hire 2 spotters to assist the driver when positioning the trailer but that is all. The driver is allowed to drive the trailer in & out of the center. My only concern is the payment method. I am used to doing this on paypal. shelley (9/11/2008)
Response:
Sshelly Sorry I don't use pay pal or take anything except pictures of past presidents on these personal loads. I'm still trying to figure out the timeframe thing. John (9/11/2008)
Question:
Shelly, Was this a flat dually, or a normal pickup truck dooly with a standard bed? You dont have a picture of what it takes, and , no offense, but we need someone that knows what it takes. I dont want to bid, send a truck 130 miles for a load, and have it not be compatable for this trailer We are setup for gooseneck as well as 5th wheel, but not low profile fith wheels. Please advise. (9/11/2008)
Question:
Shelly, My duelly pickup is a long bed normal pickup not a flatbed. My hitch is adjustible up and down has both gooseneck and fifthwheel hookups. I have hauled every kind of RV, horse trailer and commercial trailer over the last five years and I am confident that I can hookup and transport your trailer to Charlotte. My fifthwheel hitch will adjust up so that it is actully above the sides of my pickup box. (9/12/2008)
