can you tell me the wheel base of the truck and the empty and overall lenghth. maybe able to give you a deal on transport on my way back from washington

Response: The wheel base is 157 inches. From the front of the bumper to to the end of the frame is slightly less than 20 feet. The bed extends approximately another four feet. I can (maybe) have the bed removed and left behind if that helps to fit your trailer. Or if you could be so lucky to find a small car you could load it in the bed if you want.

Response: : How far is it from the front bumper to rear wheels? Is there anyone at pickup location that can help load?
6/21/2012
Response: From the bumper to the center of the rear wheels 16 feet 8 inches. Yes the seller said he would help, How much help he will be I do not know. Do you have a wench? If you would like to call my number is [phone number removed].

Response: : It seems like I could make it fit with the back end hanging off. I'd need to put a motorcycle in the bed of it.
Also I don't have a winch and would need the seller to advice us of any local wrecker companies that maybe able to help. This is a heavy truck. We won't be able to push it on the trailer
Last but not least how much are you wanting to pay for transport
6/21/2012
Response: I can talk with the seller about the wrecker cost and see if he can add it to his selling price. As far as how much am I welling to pay. Uship originally quoted $877.00 I know now that it was just a come on price and not a firm price. But now the truck is bought and I need to find a way to get it here. Can you do it for $1250.00 ?

What is the weight of this truck? Will be in Montana late next week or weekend and it would fit on my 20 foot flatbed all aluminum car hauler but only if its 8500 pounds or less. Would hang over the rear a bit but all my lights work fine and I can even add some extra magnetic ones to the rear of the truck if need be. Would offer to do it for your price of 1250 possibly but need to know the weight to calculate my fuel costs and make sure I'm not going to tow it 1500 miles for only 200 bucks or something. Really will be more as I'm going to be in the great falls area and it looks to be 250 miles away from there looking at the map. So closer to a 2k trip for me starting in Great Falls and then doubling back to go to Iowa. With my car hauler empty I can get 500 miles to the tank give or take. But loaded it gets half that sometimes depending on weight. Just let me know your thoughts and how much it weighs. Thanks, Frankstl1.

Response: The weight is less than less than 8500 pounds. More like 6000 pounds. I bought one of these 37 fords locally and put it on a 20 footer, pulling it with my Half ton Dodge van. But I only had 100 miles to get it. If you can get this one to me for the 1250 it is yours to haul and we have a deal. Let me know thanks.

Response: : After taking the weight into consideration and doing the math it will cost me almost 900 in fuel to get to it and get it back to Iowa. What would your best offer be over 1250, don't mind doing the drive, but want to make a decent wage for not only my drive time but the mileage and wear on equipment. Do insult meant but I just lost my tail the last 4 weeks renting a commercial 3/4 ton diesel at 2959 and change for one month. And the repairs to my truck were almost 5k. That being said I'm not trying to make it from you or.something just figuring at 1250 after fuel and other needed expenses might profit 200 or 250 tops for a 20 plus hour drive with a big semi-heavy truck sticking up over my truck lol. Anywho just let me know, will be in great falls in about 4-6 days and can let me know your thoughts at any time. Just thinking aloud and sharing my honest opinion with you and feel it always better to be honest than not. Frank

Response: I want you to make a living at what you do. But at the same time this truck has a value limit. The cost of the truck and shipping needs to be with in that limit. What freight rate would you need to feel good about this?
6/21/2012
Response: : I do understand and don't want to lose out on the job totally, how would another 150 do? Is that increase feasible for your budget on this haul? Will get to montana in about 5 or 6 days and unload this jib crane and then come straight over to pickup the truck. Also I'd need it to be pushed onto the trailer and are the dual rear wheels 82 or less in width from outside to outside? Just want to make sure all is a go, won't hurt if the outside tire hangs off a bit. Guess last question would be does this have a working transmission where it can at least be put in granny low or reverse and locked down tightly forward and then back. Would use four straps one at each corner over the axles. Each strap rated for 10k so 40k in all supporting it for the ride and I check them very often the first 2 or 3 hundred miles and still pretty frequently after, better safe than sorry. Frank

Response: Submit your bid, I will except your $1400.00 bid. I will call the seller and verify the wheel width. I am sure it is at or less than 82 inches.
6/21/2012
Response: : Will there be help getting this loaded in the way of another truck or tractor. As I said I have no winch yet as I just bought the trailer and haven't made enough back yet to afford the purchase of a winch as yet. On my list believe me but this last month broke me. Just didn't want to bid without knowing we'd get it loaded first. Coming off should be no problem as long as the tires aren't totally flat. But even then it'd be nothing to strap it to a tree or other solid object leave in neutral and drive right out from under it if need be. Frank

Response: I was in your profession and this is what I done on several occasions, if it works for you, you can safe the cost of a wench in the future. Drop your trailer, block the wheels, put support (stack 6x6's or concrete blocks) under the rear trailer frame. You may need to block the front as well, depending on your tongue jack. Using your truck and several straps you can pull the truck onto the trailer. I can call the seller tomorrow and give him time to locate a pull or push vehicle, if you do not want to use my system as I outlined.
6/21/2012
Response: : Would but with only me being there I'd take the chance it'd maybe roll right off the front and that'd be a big mess. I'd rather have a second vehicle next to mine with a tow strap and pull it on while the trailer is still hooked upto my truck, and me inside the 37 ford at the wheel and brakes. Just feel safer, like I said just bought the trailer and don't want to screw it up yet lol. Frank
6/21/2012
Response: I understand your point, sh-t happens. No one wants an OH SH-T moment. LOL
Lets see what the seller has to say tomorrow.
6/21/2012
Response: : Sounds good, thanks very much for your quick replies and helping me to make this happen, hope we can get it worked out Larry. Thanks again, Frank.
6/21/2012
Response: Frank I have decided against buying this truck. I wanted a few parts from it and the owner would not remove them, insisting on someone taking all of it or none of it. Sorry but you should be able to find other freight.
