Questions for this shipment:

Question: $1100 buys certainty. See what I mean? (12/22/2007)
Question: I don't know why my question would be flagged - I'll be more specific, and very factual. There are haulers bidding loads nationwide at rock bottom prices - cheaper than they can haul loaded one way - and then either delaying or canceling your load if they can't schedule it, loaded both directions. Check their profile and you'll see that you have nearly a 1 in 4 chance of having your 'agreement' cancelled weeks after you think it is a 'done deal'. Is this how you want to do business? Read my feedback - that is how you do business. MREMarine (12/23/2007)
Response: Good afternoon. I'm not sure how your previous message could get "flagged". I have no idea how that is done, or what reason would be used to flag a message, unless someone wasn't sure about your previous comment? It wasn't done here. I, on the other hand, appreciate ALL feedback regarding the moving of our boat and any information is education on what to do and what not to do when moving your boat across the country. This isn't something that we do regularly, so we just want to get a good and fair deal without any undue complications. Thanks!! (12/23/2007)
Response: Understood. There are many good, honest, reputable haulers on here. Do your homework, check profile and feedback and you'll do fine. Thanks for your response and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! (12/23/2007)
Question: We can transport this for you at a reasonable price, we need to know the following information: Year and model, how will this be loaded at both ends(we can pull out/in at each end), how will border crossing be handled? Thank you, Paul (12/24/2007)
Response: The boat is a 2000 Sea Ray 340DA Sundancer. It will be blocked in Florida as it will be stored on land and could load that way or with a travel lift and could either be launched or removed with a travel lift in Ontario. Pickup and delivery points are both full service marinas. The border crossing will likely be handled by myself meeting you at the border to handle documents or through a customs broker. Thank you for your question! (12/24/2007)
Question: Hi shipper, I was wondering if you might be willing to do this trip around the middle of March? I will be going up at that time, and could offer you an even better deal than I my bid if this is possible(I'm the lowest one). Thanks, let me know. (1/15/2008)
Response: Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, the weather here will not allow for this shipment to happen before the weather breaks in late April or early May. Also, I do have off-line bids that are lower than all of the bids on this board but we're hoping to lock in with someone soon. Thanks! (1/16/2008)
Response: Hi Simon, I see you have a much lower bid than I gave you. I will re-bid in hopes you are willing to accept at the earliest possible time for scheduling purposes. I am not able to match this low of a bid, but am willing to do it for your target of $5k. Be assured, I will take your boat directly to you, no sitting in a yard, or transferring will happen with me. I bid, I drive, I deliver. Communication while on the road via email, and cell phone is standard proceedure. I am originally from Ontario(London area), and have hauled there many times, so I am familiar both with the region, and customs proceeedures. Thanks, hope to hear from you, Tom Purdy. (1/29/2008)
Response: Hello Tom, I've read your feedback and looked at your profile and all looks good, but I'm still having a little heartburn with the $3.50/mile bid (1,445 miles). I will take everything into account when I finalize my decision but I just wanted to be sure the math was right. Is your trailer air-ride suspension? Tks, Simon (1/30/2008)
Response: Hi Simon, all things considered, for the time of year you want it done(busy season northbound and a backhaul unlikely), cost of fuel, 9 permits, > 4 days start to finish if all goes right to load/unload, travel (daylight only for oversized and having to stop at every inspection station)and boarder crossing<, lodging, food, insurance, truck and trailer expenses, salaries and business expenses, plus a small profit, it adds up. If I were to bid $4750, would you accept it immediately? My calendar fills in quickly the beginning of April right thru to December, and people are willing to pay a premium for their specified trip times. I could come down a bit more if March were do-able. Anyway, I hope this was not too longwinded an explanation, and I do hope to win your confidence. You can be assured, because of the experience I have with this type of vessel, and the right equipment to move her, that she will arrive safe and sound. (1/31/2008)
Response: Hi Tom, I appreciate your tenacity to earn my business for our boat move. If you meet me in the middle of my lowest bid and your proposal at $4,500 then I can't see any reason why I couldn't lock you in for the shipment. I'd love to ship the boat up earlier, but can't do it with the weather. It would cost me over $1,000 to winterize and shrink wrap, so there's no benefit there. Please advise. Thanks, Simon (2/1/2008)
Question: Hi, please let me know before you "lock in" shipping to see if I can save you some $$$$. I am your current low bid and that bid can be negotiated. John(houseofboats) (1/27/2008)
Response: Hi John, Thanks for your note but if you'll see in a previous message, I currently have bids lower than the target price from off-system bidders. The only thing that I ask is that you give me your best shot before the middle of February. I don't want to leave it much later than that so that my boat transporter can arrange their spring schedule around my required time window. Thanks, Simon (1/28/2008)
Response: Hi Simon, I would like to earn your business. I am entering a more competitive bid and will deliver per your time frame. John(houseofboats) (1/29/2008)
Question: if your dims do not exceed 12' wide or 12' tall its a simple $3 a mile no ifs and or buts,12' wide requires permits 12'1" no requires escorts so dims are important $3 a mile includes fuel surcharge permits and trucking service.you wuold need to supply loading and unloading as well as any blocking and bracing which most marinas provide.thanks let me know if i can help. (1/30/2008)
Response: Hello, to confirm, the dimensions are as follows; Width: 11'5" Beam Height: 12'1" Length: 33'6" (36'3"LOA) If that falls into your $3/mile range, then we should be looking at a bid of $4,335 as the trip is 1,445 miles? Thanks! (1/30/2008)
