Questions for this shipment:

Question: We can do this for around $4k. Please see our profile for more information. Thank you! (3/31/2008)
Response: Thanks for the estimate. I have, however, recieved a direct quote from Cal Western for 2,600. and was hoping to do better. The Uship chart showed me several prices that averaged 1,660 or so. Please let me know if you can do better. I'm flexible with the dates and delivery site. Scott (3/31/2008)
Question: I will be empty and maybe stuck in Wa around the 10th/11th April.with deadhead ect I can't come down for less than 2500.00....If this works let me know and I will bid.tduncan55 (4/1/2008)
Response: Thanks for the response. I would prefer to wait a little longer for the delivery, if possible. You are my new low bid right now (2,600 yesterday), so I am interested, but I would prefer to wait and see if you can pick up a southbound load and get closer to San Diego. A huge plus would be if you had the type of trailer that could pick me up from a boat ramp, with the hydraulic supports. The yard in San Diego wants 800>00 to lift the boat out of the water and set it on the trailer. Please let me know if any of these things work for you. Thanks again, Scott (4/1/2008)
Response: Thanks,I will watch and see what developes.*00 seems high it usually is about 10.00 ft. (4/1/2008)
Response: ok (4/6/2008)
Question: Hello..$800.00 to lift your boat from the water to the trailer? That takes perhaps one hour.....But then you want to pay only $1600.00 to the carrier who does all the work for two days plus fuel plus time plus trailer expenses? (4/1/2008)
Response: Yeah, I'm looking for a less expensive boat yard, and have gotten it down to under $450.00 so far. The rate for the carrier seems like a fair scenario. At 408 miles, that's about $4.00 per mile. the trip, with loading and unloading, should be complete in less than 24 hours. At 4 miles per gallon, and $4.00 per gallon, that adds up to about $450.00 for fuel, another $150.00 for overhead, and $1,000.00 to the operator. To me, that seems fair and workable. And as well, I am hoping for a trailer with the capacity to lift the boat from the water. I'd rather pay the trucker the extra $800.00 than those greedy boatyards. We're not all rich yachties, you know... OK, if $1,600.00 is too tight for you, I'll go ahead and buy you a great big breakfast after the unloading. look, if my asking price isn't fair, then please explain it to me. It's been a few years since I've been in the trucking business, and maybe things have changed....Let me know, Scott (4/2/2008)
Question: WE CAN DO THIS ON FRIDAY FOR 2300 CAN YOU GET THIS UNLOADED ON SATURDAY (4/2/2008)
Response: Hi, $2,300.00. The best price to date, thanks. Are you talking of this Friday? I am currently in Northern California and the boat is not ready to be hauled out. I was hoping for closer to the end of the month, say, the 29th 0r 30th. But I am somewhat flexible. I would still need a little time to come down and prep the boat. If you are flexible, let me know your schedule and I can work with you, but I will need a couple of days to arrange it all. Let me know, Thanks, Scott (4/2/2008)
Response: WE WILL BE MAKING ANOTHER TRIP OUT AT THE END OF THE MONTH OR SO WE COULD DO IT THEN IF YOU LIKE (4/3/2008)
Response: That would be great, however I have just recieved a lower bid than yours, and am currently weighing the options of timing vs. price. Please keep an eye on my listing, Thanks, Scott (4/3/2008)
Response: I WILL LOWER MY BID DOWN TO 2000. IF YOU CAN HAVE THIS LOADED ON MONDAY (4/5/2008)
Response: You know that I would do it if I could, but the boat is not at the boat yard yet. I need to fly down and prep the mast and drive the boat to the yard, and unfortunatly, I cannot take off from work this week (I'm in San Fran). I'll call my friends in San Diego and see if they can help, but it's doubtful. Email me here tomorrow afternoon and i'll let you know if it will work. Scott (4/6/2008)
Response: when will you be ready we have a few loads to move back up north we may be able to fit it in (4/6/2008)
Response: Anytime between Monday, April 28th and May 1st (possibly the 2nd). We will be loading at Driscoll's yard on Shelter Island. Hopefully you will be able to fit me in at that time. Thanks, Scott (4/6/2008)
Question: I may be able to do this in your timeframe at 2500.00...I have to wait until after Monday for an answer on one in La first.Even then if he can allow me a few days I still might work it in..Tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (4/6/2008)
Response: Thanks for your response. I have a price of $2,200.00 at present for the job on or about the 30th of April. The date is good, but I'm hoping to recieve a better bid. Had one for 2K, but not in my time frame. Let me know if you can work with me on the numbers, Thanks, Scott (4/6/2008)
Response: I will watch this,I couldn't go for any less if I was across the street from it...I will have to see how things work out.My shedule is filling quickly and I have to meet my obligations that is why I can't formely bid right now...thanks tduncan55 (4/6/2008)
Response: Thanks, And let me know if things fall into place for the end of the month. Scott (4/6/2008)
Response: Thank you will do,might work....tduncan55 (4/6/2008)
Response: OK, Keep in touch, Scott (4/6/2008)
Question: Hi there I have a 53 foot lowboy. I will submit a bid. However you will be payingfor the lify correct? Lisa @redline "jimjim" (4/6/2008)
Response: Thank you for your interest. I will pay the boat yards to set the boat onto your trailer, and pluck it off when you arrive in Berkeley. You will only need to strap her down and drive away. Same on the other end; just pull under the travel lift, and when the boat is lifted, drive away. I will be paying in cash. The pickup time is sort of important, as I will be flying down on the 27th to prep the boat and move her to the boat yard. You could pick up between the 28th and 1st. Delivery date is not as important, so if you can also load other stuff to fill the trailer, I will gladly wait a few extra days. Thanks, Scott (4/6/2008)
Question: STOP..!!!! Is there a reason it can't be sailed up? I have all the necessary requirements, and so does my crew, (actually, just me and my first mate). I could even bring a main, and 2 jibs, a 135 and a storm jib.... (4/7/2008)
Response: For me to sail her up would require time off from work, and a crew. It was my original intention to sail her up, but I couldn't afford to take two weeks off, and didn't want to just rush up the coast. The boat seems to be in fine shape, but if something were to break on the way up, we would have greater delays and expenses. If you want to take the trip up, let me know your plan, and I will definatly consider it. I've sold the boat, so it's all about saving money right now. Thanks for the contact, Scott (4/7/2008)
Question: Just to be completely clear, the boat will already be on it's trailer and ready to be hitched upon pick up? If so, we can probably do it over the weekend 4/26-4/27 for just under 2K. Let me know and we can place a bid. Thank you. (4/8/2008)
Response: Thanks for the interest. Actually, the boat has no trailer. The boat yard will pick the boat up out of the water and set it on your trailer. Then, when you get up here, another boat yard will pick it off of your trailer and put it in the water. Sorry for any confusion in my description of the load. (4/9/2008)
