being a u ship member im sure you know the price of fuel permits etc. it just isnt profitable to take an escorted load that far for that amount you might want to rethink your max price i can send you a breakdown of expenses if you need them im sure youve already heard it but that is just not enough for a big job such as that if i went 4800 that pays me 400.00 for a weeks work would you work for that (9/6/2006)
Response:
IT IS ALSO A MATTER BOF WHAT I CAN AFFORD (9/6/2006)
Question:
Would you consider having a captain take the boat down the coast on its own bottom? May be more cost effective. If so, I could work out a price for you. (9/7/2006)
Response:
YES WOULD BE WILLING TO ACCOMPANY-I AM A CAPTAIN BUT HESITATE A VOYAGE LIKE THAT ON MY OWN-QUESTION IS FUEL COSTS-TWIN 350 CHEVY ENGINES-AT 10 KNOTS USE 20 GALS PER HOUR-CALCULATE AND GET BACK TO ME (9/7/2006)

Response:

Question:
Would it be possible for you to be the escort from Maine to the Pa line? If you could help out that way I could do it for your $4800. (9/13/2006)
Response:
escorts must be liscensed...I am not--unless you know something I don't? C.S. (9/13/2006)
Question:
According to my handy dandy oversize directory, Maine, NH, & Mass only require 18yrs old, 2 rotating lights and oversize signs. Ny requires a certification, but going across I-84 there is only the rest area scale, or down 95 no scale. or spray water on the boat and shrink it to 12'. (9/13/2006)
Response:
JUST MAKE SURE (9/14/2006)
Question:
Fl. escort must be certified also but I work with several so no problem there. Also I run out of Brooksville, Fl. (9/13/2006)
Response:
I HAVE A 5000 OFFER-WITH ESCORTS-I AM TO;D ESCORTS ARE 2200-IF I CAN LEGALLYESCORT WILL DO SO- LET ME KNOW WE CAN WORK OUT A PRICE (9/14/2006)
Question:
Hi Steve, I guess you read my profile and checked me out on the DOT website. Iam not the cheapest around but I am one of the best. I have been watching this to see if you were able to come up on your money a little. I know how hard it is these days. The short miles is 1650 but the way I would try to route it is about 1800 so $4800 works out to $2.66 per mile. The normal rate for a boat your size is $3.00 pm plus escorts @ $1.25 per mile. If my book is right I need an escort from Me. to Pa.line and Fl. line to Spring Hill. I thought if you could do the escort on the upper end, (2) rotating lights $90.00 (2) oversize signs $25.00, that I would furnish the Fl. escort out of the $4800. I am out of Brooksville, about 20 miles from Spring Hill. I also run the east coast and NYC pretty regular so I don't see where there would be many problems. Let me know What you think. Jim (9/14/2006)
Response:
Jim-I just cannot afford more -if need be will sail her down myself-if you can do 4800-place a bid (9/14/2006)
Question:
Steve, what I was getting at was if you could escort me you would spend about $125 on the lights and signs, I would furnish the escort in FL. and only charge you the $4800. Iwasn't sure if you were still in Maine or in Fl. already. It also lets you follow me to make sure I know what I'm doing. I only have 29yrs experience and 4,500,000 miles without an accident. (9/15/2006)
Response:
AS I SAID PLACE A BID PLEASE (9/15/2006)
Question:
You can look me up on the DOT website listed in my profile. Jim (9/15/2006)
Response:
THAT COULD BE A VIOLATION OF USHIP RULES (9/15/2006)
Question:
It is not a violation of uship rules to check someones DOT # to see if they are licensed insured and qualified. That is why you have never seen them red flag that website. (9/15/2006)
Response:
I STAND CORRECTED-I MAKE MY LIVING OFF THIS SITE A LOT OF GUYS PLAY GAMES ON WEEKENDS-IF INTERESTED PLACE BID AM ALMOST READY TO DELETE AND LOOK AT OTHER OPTIONS (9/16/2006)
Question:
Steve old buddy how are we doing on getting this boat out of my yard as we are starting to store boats and you could be blocked in and would cost more to move them to get at yours thanx Kenny (9/18/2006)
Response:
am doing best i can-if need be will move to Arts yard (9/18/2006)
Question:
can do for target price in spring 2007 (9/18/2006)
Response:
what price ?who pays for storage? (9/18/2006)
Question:
5200 getting closer Steve old buddy i think i might ba able to find partial to go with it soon thanxc Kenny (9/25/2006)
Response:
am close to agreement with another shipper from craigs list-for $5000-pleasde place your bid-steve (9/25/2006)
