Question: Any word yet on the ramp situation? Jim (1/21/2008)

Response: Jim, sorry for the delay. Unfortunately, I have not called about it yet. It's probably at the largest marina on the lake, but, I better double check that length. I'll knock this out tomorrow.
hey, do you know how to drain the lakewater out of the blocks? lemme know.
You're my number 1 shipper right now!
thanks, alx (1/22/2008)

Response: Some blocks have drain plugs, others you disconnect the hoses. I would like to load this on Friday and deliver it on saturday. Either way I will need the info on the boat to order the permit so please let me know as soon as you can. Jim (1/22/2008)

Question: I would need highport marina to load the boat with their travel lift. How is it being unloaded? John(houseofboats) (1/24/2008)

Response: Hi HouseofBoats,
I was hoping to avoid paying the $300 for the travel-lift. Is there no way we can drive this on and off your trailer? Both ramps we'll be using are plenty long and the lakes are up high.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks!
alex (1/28/2008)

Response: I definitely want to load with the lift..our trailers are not designed for loading on a ramp..we can launch for you at lake travis. Loading in the water with a screw pad trailer is a real pain. I'd rater pay the lift fee myself if that will help. John(houseofboats) (1/28/2008)

Response: John, I appreciate the flexibility here. I just called Carla at Highport Marina and she let me know that it is $325 for them to use their travel-lift to load it on the trailer. Money is really tight right now, so, your offer to pay that lift fee for me really makes it hard for me to not choose you for the job. Are there any other fees that you would expect me to pay such as fuel, mileage, taxes, etc, etc, or, would I actually be able to get away with paying $1175 for this shipment, total? If so, that's a damn hard offer to refuse. Let me know. Thanks John! Alex (1/28/2008)

Response: THAT WILL WORK...DEPENDING ON SCHEDULING. AT THAT PRICE I WILL HAVE TO MAKE A TWO-WAY TRIP AND I AM WORKING ON A COUPLE OF OTHER DELIVERIES UP THAT WAY. WHEN WOULD YOU LIKE THIS DONE AND HOW FLEXIBLE IS YOUR TIME FRAME FOR MOVING THE BOAT? JOHN(houseofboats) (1/28/2008)

Response: Hi John,
I'm flexible, but, it needs to happen pretty soon, as we're supposed to be out of the slip at Highport Marina at Texoma at the end of January. My stepdad who is giving this boat to me and has rented that slip for 19 years is friends with the management, so, they won't have a problem if we have to stay a couple weeks past the end of this month. I just secured a slip at Lake Travis at Keller Marina (http://www.kellerlanding.com/marinaandboatslips.html), so I'm ready when you are. Let me know if this gives you the flexibility you need. If you can drop your bid amount by the $300 to reflect the cost of that travel-lift, I'll accept this bid.
Thanks John!
Alex (1/29/2008)

Response: Thanks, Alex..My office computer security prevents my bidding from heere, so I will place a bid for that amount using the uship "amount to me" calculator from home after work today.John(houseofboats) (1/30/2008)

Response: sounds great! thanks John!
Alex (1/30/2008)

Response: OK Alex I placed the bid for pickup on monday. If that wont work we can reschedule. (1/30/2008)

Response: Hi john, I just called my stepdad and he's available to meet you up at Highport Marina on Texoma Monday (tues is better), or really any day next week. I'm going to make a trip up there on Feb. 8th to clear out the stuff that's stored on the dock that has accumulated over the years, but, it would be nice to already have the boat down here by the time I head up there. All we need to do is to get in touch with Carla at Highport Marina to schedule the lift service. The only issue that we've got to iron out is the final cost. If you see our correspondence from 1/28/2008, we were trying to do it for $1175, but, the most recent bid shows $1,322, but, with the cost of the travel-lift, this puts the cost of your shipment quite a bit higher than that of another shipper whose trailer I can drive it onto. I know scheduling is a factor, so, if there is a weekday next week that will make this worthwhile for you to do it for $1175, let me know which day, and I'll accept this bid immediately. (1/31/2008)

Response: Hi Alex, I had originally bid 1500.00 Using the uship "amount to me" calculator I rebid 1200.00. That is where the 1322.00 comes from. I cant do it for less. To do it at this rate I will have to pickup the boat Monday and I need an answer by noon tomorrow in order to have my oversize permit odrered and available by Monday. The permit is another 61.00 expense to me. I think that you will be happy with our service should you go with us. Think it over...the loading will be safer and easier for all involved...that might be worth a few extra dollars. John(houseofboats) (1/31/2008)
