Questions for this shipment:
Question:
what day can these be picked up and can the genset be towed (11/5/2009)
Response:
You would need to schedule at least 24hrs in advance with the site manager from govliquidation, so assuming scheduling on Monday, you may be able to pickup Tuesday, but if they are busy, they may not be able to schedule until thursday, I will need them picked up before Nov 20th. The condition of the genset is un known. It looks like you should be able to tow it assuming you have the proper registration on the tow vehicle to make it legal as the trailer is not registered. Also the trailer has air over hydraulic brakes. I'm not familliar with that type of system, but I would assume if you don't hook up the air, the brakes would be free, but then that would also bring up the issue of towing a 7400 lb trailer without brakes, I'm not exactly sure what the requirements are. Please let me know if you still have other questions. (11/6/2009)
Question:
Hello, I have bid on your transport, I am compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Division with DOT & MC Permits and have Commercial Insurance For Hire per Federal Law, use a legal transporter like myself and protect yourself. Thank You, cadmike6770 (11/6/2009)
Question:
Shipper, sounds like a low profile ramp equipped trailer with a winch is what you need, at least 14,000 lbs with it's own brakes. I would be able to provide just that pulled with an F350 Diesel. I am looking at my schedule trying to fill empty slots with either bids or commitments. I realize your schedule states "flexible" however I would assume you would want this as soon as practical correct? Best Regards, Steve/Nicsauto (11/6/2009)
Response:
Yes, you are correct. As for the schedule, the pickup needs to be worked out with the Govliquidation site manager, they require a minimum 24hrs notice and possibly longer if they are busy. So based on my experience I would guess a pickup on Thursday would be a safe bet assuming we get in the que on Monday. (11/7/2009)
Response:
Thank you shipper for the response. Having never dealt with this particular "auctioneer", i.e., "Govliquidation" it seems a great deal surrounding the schedule will reside in their control and not yours nor the TSP's. This off course makes bidding with a firm schedule difficult. It would be especially difficult to plan to allocate time and equipment in advance only to be held back by the origination agent. Is there any way to better clarify their expectations regarding pickup? Best Regards, Steve.Nicsauto (11/7/2009)
Response:
The items must be picked up by Nov 20th, so if we were to strike a deal by Monday, you could schedule the pickup up to let's say 10 days out. If the call is made Monday there shouldn't be much of a problem to schedule something for Thursday or later, the problem is usually caling on Monday and trying to pick up within a day or so of the call. The other option would be to wait until Monday and I could call and check to see how far out they are booking if you needed to schedule something early in the week. (11/7/2009)
Response:
Shipper, Thanks for the additional information regarding the pickup schedule. I am working out my entire plan for the month of November and "would" be interested in this load. Let me look at what I have currently active (currently bid or committed) between now and the next 10 days. It does still seem that there "could" possibly be delays created by the "govliquidator" folks...and I emphasis "could". I would have "some" concern of being held up at the pickup point for any extended length of time. Best Regards, Steve.nicsuto (11/7/2009)
