Plant & Aggriculture Listing Information
  • 3 Household Plants Cross-country
  • Weight:0 lbs.
  • Length:0 in.
  • Width:0 in.
  • Height:0 in.
Additional Information: 3 Household Plants - like part of the family (high sentimental value).

1) Most important of the 3 plants is Flowering Cactus Plant (no flowers currently): 19 inches tall, 30 inches wide, approx. 10 lbs. I can probably trim to make less wide.

2) Spider Plant: 14 inches tall, 19 inches wide, approx. 3 lbs. Width can also be trimmed.

3) Generic household plant: 19 inches tall, 16 inches wide, approx. 5 lbs.

All 3 can survive a week without water but cactus plant needs some sunlight if at all possible (can it perhaps sit upfront w/driver at least periodically?). all 3 plants like sunlight even if only indirect, the spider and generic plant however can probably withstand lack of light if not possible. If driver can only take one plant (cactus), I can be flexible.

Can driver help with packaging (cardboard box, lined w/newspapers and kept open for air)?

Questions for this shipment:

Question: Unlikely, but if you can find a shipper from NY to Minneapolis by friday, a friend and i are driving a VW van out to San Fran, we are plant lovers and will be taking some plants along ourselves, and they would be well cared for and receive good light and water. :) best of luck to you. My christmas cactus from my grandma is also my most precious, so i see your predicament. (9/21/2005)
Response: Thank you for your message, unfortunately sounds like the timing is near impossible on my end for getting it to Minneaplois. I really do appreciate your offer though, as would have been ideal situation! Take care and safe travels. (9/21/2005)
Question: We are headed into NYC area on the 4th or 5th, and could take door to door for you at your target price. Couldn't help any delays though, as we are towing a boat back to Encinitas,CA, then need to head north from there. We have an airconditioned cargo van that will be empty on the way out to CA. It is brand new, and has windows in back and on the side doors as well. We also have a misting bottle if it is required for your shaded plants, and can water and package too. Thanks! -L (9/25/2005)
Response: Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately, I need to move out of my apartment in nyc by 9/29 and have no where to keep the plants until you get here 10/4-10/5. I may be able to pay someone to store & maintain my plants for another week but not ideal situation and not sure if this will work. As result would want to reduce my target price lower to around $1000. If still worthwhile to you, please let me know. also, you mentioned windows in the van - is there sufficient indirect sunlight, how long do you estimate the worst case delivery date? appreciate the offer to mist the plants - their soil will need a little misting depending upon length of time in the van. thanks!-A (9/25/2005)
Question: Will you be taking off west through NJ? My mother and father live there, and am sure they would care for the plants until we can arrive to get them. If this is an option, my mother and father both have VERY green thumbs, and are responsible people. They live near Cherry Hill, NJ. I am sure that they could come out near the interstate to receive the plants for us. Thanks! (9/25/2005)
Response: Thanks for the kind offer! I do not have a car however, will be flying to CA. I may be able to pay my building super to do this for me and handle the plants. As mentioned, if you can lower to $1000 or so i will take your bid and pay someone to watch my plants and give them to you on your arrival. hope this can work out! -A (9/25/2005)
Question: Ok, if this can work out, then we will leave the bid open to acceptance for you. Hope this can work out. Thanks again! -L (9/25/2005)
Question: If you need this done yet i can do at ANY time you wish, for the $1500 you want to pay.so if you need done yet let me know can go today or when ever your ready (9/26/2005)
Response: I like your flexible timing. I do have a lower bid at $1100 that I'm planning to go however timing is a bit problematic and trying to figure it out. Unless you are able to do for lower price than $1500? Also will you have light in the van for the plants, and are you able to mist/water lightly if needed? Thanks! (9/26/2005)
Question: Hi, i can and would be glad to do for you, i can do it in a cargo van that i can put a light in or i can take in a small suv that has lots of light coming in.and yes they would get water misted on them.but i cant do for less as its about 3000 miles out there and 300 to you so i am looking at about 3300 miles, then i come back, but if you want done for 1500 i can do now, and will post the bid, thanks (9/26/2005)
Response: Thanks for reply, i am planning to go with the lower bid. However appreciate your interest. Take care (9/26/2005)
