Question: Will this fit in a 26' uhaul? (1501cuft?) Will the warehouse be doing the loading, or will I provide help for that? Please check with the warehouse and let me know so I can quote a accurate price. (1/2/2007)
Response: Yes it will fit in a container that is 26'. No they will not be helping move. (1/2/2007)
Question: I spoke with allied and the only 3 bedroom she could recall, required 2 trucks, 1 full and the other 2/3rds full. Is that load yours, do you think? (1/2/2007)
Response: I did not go with Allied, I went with American Vanlines East. (1/2/2007)
Question: Sorry about that, I meant American (1/2/2007)
Question: Please contact american. they say we may not enter warehouse, and that their men would have to load truck at a charge, not specified and ask what are those charges. Further, find out from Them, what size truck you will need and how many blankets they used to protect your furniture. That's the only way to be sure, that this goes smoothly, when the final bid is in. 14000 lbs will be considered overweight in 1-26' uhaul size truck. It will also be more than 1300 cu.ft.. Please contact me again, when you have the information, and I will submit a bid accordingly. Thanks, Tom (1/2/2007)

Response: Don't get what "" means. (1/3/2007)
Question: do you still need shipping and if so can you tell me how much furniture you have (1/3/2007)

Question: will this all fit in an enclosed 24 ft gooseneck trailer? (1/3/2007)
Response: I really don't know, it's 1300 cf it doesn't give you any spare space that's for sure. (1/4/2007)
Question: you are talking about S. Padre Island, Tx, near Brownsville correct? If so that's about 1350 miles. Also you have not responded to hat I asked about American. I would appreciate that info, as would anyone else that's considering bidding, so we can bid correctly. Thanks. (1/3/2007)
Response: Yes it's south of Brownsville, and I don't frankly remember your other question about American, sorry. (1/4/2007)
Question: Please contact american. they say we may not enter warehouse, and that their men would have to load truck at a charge, not specified and ask what are those charges. Further, find out from Them, what size truck you will need and how many blankets they used to protect your furniture. Response: American Vanlines East is disreputable and their answers cannot be relied upon. They quoted me $700. for this move and then without permission they charged my card $3600. I filed with the BBB and now they say it is in dispute, and won't let us get the furniture out nor tell us what it would cost for them to do it. These people should go to jail!I'm not sure what to do at this point. (1/4/2007)
Question: Also, the woman I spoke with, at American, said she only remembered 1-3 bedroom, that was currently in dispute, and that, "If that's the one, that it took 2 26' box trucks, 1 full and 1 2/3rds full to move it". Please let us know asap. Also make sure any bid reflects final price on Uship,o you have proof of agreement. then before loading, make sure contract reads the same. A good idea, would also be to get inner deminsions of truck (s) that's the furniture will go in. To determine cu. ft. it's lxwxh Eg 24x8x8= 1536 cu. ft.. (1/4/2007)
Question: I'm not sure of the dispute you have with them, but is it because their money is being held up by the credit card company? If so, you will have to first make arrangements to settle this, before anyone can give you a bid, since no one will be able to remove your goods from their warehouse intil settled. You can also file with the attorney generals office, and take them to small claims court. Based on what they told me, there would be no way they could move your furniture for $700, not with 2 trucks involved, not even 1 truck. American is a major company, and weight and cu.ft. estimates, may be off some, but not enough to justify a 500+ increase in the price. If your disputing the weight 14,000lbs, you can call Weight and Measures division of Dot and have them reweigh it. You also said 1300 cu. ft.. I don't know where these figures came from if these were your estimates and not the companies, then if they were wrong, it would be your responsibility, not theirs. As I said previously, (1/4/2007)
Response: 1300cf was there's. and as for the settlement, they have no right to hold my stuff hostage. (1/4/2007)
Question: the 2 figures don't make sense, unless you have some unusually heavy items in your loads. Which is why, I asked you to call them for exact figures and truck requirements. According to what I was told by them, you needed about 42-45 feet of space, that's why the 2 trucks. I don't know where you moved from, but but to go where you want would be about $5700, with 2 trucks, and labor, and materials. This of course, depends on what they charge to remove from warehouse and load trucks. Hpoe this helps, Tom (1/4/2007)
Response: I don't think we need two trucks, I think they just did that to inflate the price. I don't have unusually large things. furthermore there is no way I'll do two truckloads, I'll sell it first. I've been red flagged now by uship for saying i need an email address in response to request for inventory. I'm not liking this forum much, why can't it be more direct? I think I'm looking elswhere, thanks for your help Tom. (1/4/2007)
Question: If that's the case,it's another reason I don't go by weight or cu. ft., only by truck usuage. If they quoted on this, this was only a estimate, and if you read these companies contracts, they state subject to change, to actual amount of space or weight. Where did the 14,000 lbs come from? (1/4/2007)
Response: them. (1/4/2007)
Question: If that's true, needing only 1 truck, you'd be looking at about $4200. However, as I said before. On top of that would be American's charges of warehouse fees and labor. No matter where you go, you'll have the same problems. No one can remove your goods from the warehouse until the dispute is settled. Then you will want a fixed price. these bidders you have are basing it on the information you initially gave. I would check your contract and see what it reads, weight, cu.ft., and pricing. Then if they did what you suggested, about the 2 trucks, have weights and measures, check it. then once everything is settled you will be able to demand a exact and final quote. (1/4/2007)
Response: thanks I see what i can do today. (1/4/2007)
Question: ok, good luck!! (1/4/2007)
Question: other guy backed out.can this be dun with two trips.if so i can del first an come back for 2nd.would have both out there in 8 to 10 days.half payment on first rest on 2nd. (1/7/2007)
