Additional Information: My original transporter had equipment trouble so here it is again. 27' Chaparral cruiser on a two year old Nextrail aluminum tri-axle trailer with hydraulic brakes. Boat beam is 8' 2". Estimate height on trailer is 8 1/2 to 9' tall. Boat weight is 5400 lbs (per manufacturer's specs) and trailer weight is 1415 lbs (again, per manufacturer's specs). Estimate total weight is 6815 lbs. Trailer has just been registered in NY and has a new plate, along with a 10 day temporary inspection. Boat is in a locked and guarded yard. Transporter must call in advance (24 hours is best) to gain access.

Response: Hi Troy- The timeframe was set between the date the trailer will be road-legal (registered) and the maximum amount of time the seller wants it to sit at their home. Anytime in-between would be acceptable but please note the locked gate/advance notice comment in the listing. I would have to clear any deviation from the posted pick-up schedule through the seller. Response: Hi Brian- What you propose for the price sounds inviting, and not all that unusual (my marina's done this before, but not with as large a boat), but I have to ask: How do you propose to load a 27' boat/trailer onto your trailer. The boat/trailer is currently at a residence and a tow vehicle may not be available to assist in the loading process. Can you do without? And by all means, please place a bid! (10/6/2006)

Question: deposits are to help offset fuel cost for small companies. check large freight carriers, ups, &fedex. you will pay before. just remember to check safersys.com to avoid non usdot company problems. usdot covers you by making sure the carrier is federally regulated and insured. beware of some of the others. Question: Just for info purposes, a lot of trucking companies require a deposit just to ensure the load is still there, after driving possibly several hundred miles to get there, it does get expensive, and no one wants to hear, "Oh, I sent the load with someone else." Response: Hi Dale- Those dates and terms would work for me. However, the boat's seller would need 24 hour notice on when it would be picked up (say, within a 2-3 hour window). They have to take time off from work, unless it is done in the evening. Also, I have to ask: safersys.org lists your operation as "intrastate", not "interstate".
