Question: I live in the Petersburg area and own horses. I may be interested in working something out for some of your hay (9/2/2008)

Response: I could part with about 80 bales of the 510. I either have fescue here at the house, or the Orchard. All weed/mold free. Let me know if that works for you. I can tell you when I last went up there I spent about $130 on gas (454 Chevy - gas). I just don't have a large enough trailer and I would have to make three more trips, which wasn't worth it to me.
Kim (9/2/2008)

Response: Tell you what, I'll do it for $150 plus the 80 bales. Sound good? (9/2/2008)

Response: Seems a little steep, was hoping to get a quote lower than my cost to go pick up. Let me think about it.
Thanks (9/2/2008)

Response: I thought about it, and it is steep. Does $100 and 30 bales sound better? (9/2/2008)

Response: MUCH!
Now, if hay were cheaper these days it wouldn't have been an issue, lol.
However, I don't want you to get the short end of the deal either. Can you get it all in one trip or would you have to make two? My trailer is a 16' plus a tongue and I could only get 180 as my straps/tarp were not long enough to stack it any higher.
The place is off 64, at 81. There are two hills the whole trip that gave me a little slowing issue (Chevy 454 Dually - gas). Total distance is 149 mi and there are plenty of gas stations accessible for a truck/trailer/rig.
If you can't do it all in one shipment, lets have a couple of bid options:
The first, get it all in one shipment and we'll plan it for the first week of October ($100 + 30 bales).
Second, two trips we'll plan the first for next week sometime, second trip in October ($50 + 25 bales per trip - total $100 + 50 bales).
Let me know what you think about either and we'll set it up through Uship!
Thanks, Kim (9/3/2008)

Response: option two would actually work for me if it's ok with you. by the way, do you know Karen at Appy Acres? My wife boards over there (9/3/2008)

Response: Hello,
I never heard back from you. Are you still interested in Option 2? I have to let them know something. Thanks.
Kim (9/9/2008)

Response: I'm interested, but haven't been able to get in touch with my guy to use his trailer. Hopefully I'll hear from him today. (9/10/2008)

Response: Okay. Please do let me know as if we are going to make two trips we need to get it very soon or I need to pay a storage fee on all of it. I'm currently paying a storage fee on the second 250 bales, which isn't an issue at all. I just hope to get the first 250 (which includes yours) as soon as possible, of course weather permitting.
Thanks!

Question: I am from Northeastern NC and come through that area often. I can haul 350 bales on a 40ft. gooseneck. Price would be $1.00/bale. Let me know if this other deal doesn't work for you. I will be back in that area the end of next week.My feedback is none because I haven't hauled off of USHIP before, but have full insurance, check it out on the FMCSA website. Thanks Mitch (9/5/2008)

Response: Hello mitch. Sorry, I am new to Uship. Question, what would your bid be for 250 bales (still $1.00 per bale)? How would it be transported (open trailer with tie downs and tarp?). When would you be available to do this?
I appreciate it. Kim (9/14/2008)

Response: Kim,Yes, still $1/bale with a minimum of 250 bales, open 40ft. trailer with straps and tarps. I am coming through Staunton tomorrow(Tuesday-9/16) if that would work. If not, I am up there every couple of weeks. I can bid $1 so you can obtain contact info, but USHIP will charge 19.99. Let me know, and I will do it. Thanks, Mitch (9/15/2008)

Response: Hello Mitch. Sounds like we might have a deal. I am not completely sure about tomorrow though. I wish I got this sooner or I would've called him. Let me call him early in the AM and I'll let you know FOR SURE by 9AM. Would I just pay through PayPal? How does this all work, how do I contact you? I am SO sorry but I am new to this, yet I want to save everyone some money (and grief) if possible. Again, I'll be looking for a second shipment as well so I assume you're good to know. Thanks, Kimberly Outen of CedarPineFarm. (9/15/2008)

Question: Ive read your ad and I have a few of my own. First how many bales of hay would you want on one or the first load? What price range are you looking for? IF I was to keep some hay how much would you let go? Thanks (9/11/2008)

Response: Hello and thank you for your questions.
Here's the deal: I have already purchased 400 bales and am in the process of getting the remaining 100. "IF" I can get the additional 100 I will let 25 of them go, per load. Hay is weed/mold free orchard grass hay that has been tested. It has a "good" RFV of 77, moisture 16% (which is WAY better than all of the $6 per bale hay around here) due to the fact that it is a tad bleached.
I would like to get 250 per load. The first needs to happen within the week, or I will have to go get it. Second load a month or two out.
Needs to be kept dry (INDUSTRIAL tarps) as the weather needs consideration, plus it needs to be strapped down, every top bale. It's loaded at the site. May need help for unloading, but the unload area is drive up and drop.
I'll offer 25 bales (to the hauler) for a 225 bale load (for me), plus $100. The same for the second load (unless gas prices increase).
Thanks, Kim
