Questions for this shipment:

Question: I can do this next week. I live an hour from Vegas. (4/1/2007)
Response: Not sure why Uship didn't indicate trip was to commence aroud the middle of May due to resevoir being at 8,000' and still frozen and unusable until about then. (4/6/2007)
Question: I just drove by Strawberry, its still froze. Deer Creek isnt! If this is exactly 10 ft wide we will need a wide permit you would need to cover. I have done alot of boats, have the equipment and expertise. Live in PG. and headed to Cal next week, Can bring it back if you can pay a descent rate. What have you budgeted? Check my profile and get back to me asap if I can help you out. Thanks! (4/3/2007)
Response: Here is info f/ website: Model Yrs Built LOA LWL Beam Catalina 250 1991-2005 25' 21'3 in 8' 6 As I said I'm not sure how much wider w/ trailer, but I know that on the widest part of trailer (boat beam) there are 2 standard size pvc pipes we use as guides and they are just barely wider than the beam. So it would seem unlikely it's over 10'. (4/10/2007)
Question: YOU JUST WANT THIS DELIVERED TO THE MARINA AND NOT LAUNCHED, CORRECT? I COULD GET IT TO YOU EARLIER THAN MAY, LIKE NEXT WEEK. WILL THAT WORK? WILL DO IT FOR A BUCK A MILE , BUT MUST KNOW RIGHT AWAY. THANKS! (4/4/2007)
Question: Can you answer the questions? If you no longer need the service, you ned to cancel the add. If you do, pleas answer. Thanks (4/6/2007)
Response: Ralph, We've been on spring break but are indeed interested n getting the sailboat relocated to Utah. Yes we know Strawberry is inop. at the moment. In fact the listing should have indicated a mid May time frame for that reason. I'm trying to get a hold of Marina staff to see if we can leave her in the parking lot for some period of time, but they're not answering their phone. We have not yet establishied a budget, were hoping to learn about going rates through uship bids, but haven't gotten people to detail $$, only ask questions. (4/6/2007)
Question: Well, the marina up there should accomodate you. I have transported and stored there before. The one issue is the width, and you will need to provide an oversized permit and bannner. I will do the transport next week for 600 if you cover the permit and fees. Let me know what you find out asap, and we'll go from there. Thanks! [NOTE: Per uShip rules, bids must be all inclusive. -uShip] (4/6/2007)
Response: Hi Ralph, I have family in Bolder City and will impose on them to go take exact measurements. I was making estimates, so with any luck we're under 10' in width. I know they're likewise on spring break so won't be able to get them to the storage facility until next week sometime. We'll get on it though. (4/6/2007)
Question: I understand. I hope they can get right on it. You could find the dimensions on line with the right data about the boat. Also, I assume the mast will be down, if it already isnt, right? I will start to make some preliminary plans, to do this transport for you. Let me know your thoughts and plans. Have a Great Weekend! (4/6/2007)

Question: Morning Folks! I am in Vegas now. Let me know asap when you speak with your family down here, and we will come up with a game plan. I hope I dont have to wait around all day though, it drives me nuts in this crazy city! Be in touch, Thanks! (4/9/2007)
Response: Ralph, As I mentioned my family has just returned from out o town and don't believe in cell phones. The prospect of reaching them today is not optimal. I am emailing them at work. (4/9/2007)
Question: Cell phones. Some love em, some hate em! Im in between. I am going to try find something to do for a while, and I will check back later when I have a signal. Good Luck, Hope its not wider than 10' !! (4/9/2007)
Question: Okay, I am ready to make something work out. Were you able to make contact yet? Let me know so I can make some preliminary plans. Thanks again! (4/9/2007)
Response: Ralph, I plan to extend the uship past this week. I guess I was a little early in listing since I really am not ready to relocate until May. We have secured our boat slip. But they do not want a boat in the parking lot for over a month which is about when we could launch her. The ideal delivery would be the week of May 14th. I am waiting on the cousin to get back to me in BC. No word yet. If I don't hear tomorrow I may be able to convince the storage manager to go measure, but as you know that's a 2 person job and may not be feasable. (4/9/2007)
Question: Well if this helps, I have a friend who stores alot of boats in Ut County for 30 bucks a month! Is there a way to get the data off the make and model of the boat, on line? (4/9/2007)
Response: That's a great idea. The Catalina 250 owners group is very responsive. But, doesn't it vary by what kind of trailer it's sitting on? (4/10/2007)
Question: OK, I think we'll be okay on the width, but when I get there, and I determine that it will require a permit, that of course will be extra. I will see how the bearings on the trailer react right away, and if they need servicing, or hopefully just a shot of grease. I will call Sid to make an arrangement to store your boat for a month, unless you come up with a better plan. Does it sound like we are on the same page here? (4/10/2007)
Response: Hi Ralph, Sidsports just reworked the bearings before we hauled it down to NV in Feb. But it can't hurt to have a look. It's time we talk $$ for this job before I can commit to whether we're on the same page. What is your estimate/bid? (4/10/2007)
Question: I quoted you 600 in an earlier question, and since we have had a few Q & A's since then, I figured we were good to go, and I will still commit to that. Deisel fuel is such a joke down here, but I will deal with that problem. Get back to me asap so I can plan things out. Thanks! (4/10/2007)
Question: Hi Folks, I hope your by your computer, I need to make a decision real quick here if you want me to bid this. I have another trailer I can haul for a little more money, but I would have to go back to Cal a ways. I would prefer to do your boat and make less, and travel less. I have been waiting too long, and would like to get home! Please get back to me within the hour 3-4 so I know where I will be headed. Thanks again!! (4/10/2007)
Response: Not sure if you got my last email. I mentioned we have not talked actual $$ and cents . What is your bid for this job? (4/10/2007)
Question: I am not sure what you can see on your screen. It shows on mine both the responses I submitted showing the 600 quote. It also shows you have another bid for around 750, so I am giving you a real good deal, but I really do need to know right away if I should bid yours or the other. Hope this gets to you quick, and you are getting the responses I am typing! Let me know. Thanks! (4/10/2007)
Response: With proof of insurance and 3 references we are ready to move forward w/ boat relocation. Am calling my Heber City storage options to see where she'll go right now. (4/10/2007)
Question: My profile will answer all that. I have 65 referances, and I believe the next to the last one was specific about the large boat I just did. My liability insurance is through Dairyland Insurance Co. I will submit the bid here. We can chat on my cell phone after that, and fine tune everything. As I mentioned earlier, you will need to cover the permits and fees. Since we dont know yet if we even need a permit, we'll cross that bridge later. I will submit the 600 for my service, and the uship fee will be added to that, which you will pay them directly. Look forward to chatting with you real soon. Thanks! (4/10/2007)
Response: I reviewed the references and will look forward to seeing the insurance details. you will be able to fax them to me after we can make phone contact. Can you estimate what we're talking about in terms permit fees? Though I realize it may not be a factor. (4/10/2007)
Question: In my profile it shows Full Value Protection is available, at additional cost. I have liabilty only, and my carrier will not permit me to cover other peoples property. But your own policy will cover other drivers, so long as they have the proper state required amounts, which I do. I am driving on the road and do not have access to a fax machine. And it is very difficult to drive and type, especially during traffic rush. If you are happy with my profile, and realize I have had not one issue, wrecks or damages, you can accept the bid and I will tell you how to proceed from here, but I cant type it all. Sorry! (4/10/2007)
Question: Well, what to do. I did not get back with the other shipment in time, because I thought we were good to go. I lost out on that load, and now I dont know what to make out of this situation. I have waited around a whole day to make this work. I went to the webpage that offers the insurance. for 25 grand it would cost aprox. 180-200. I dont know what more I can do to help you out here. But I certainly cannot afford to get nothing. I have already invested a whole days of lost wages here, so I am in a losing situation really bad right now! I would like to know what can be done to fix the problem here, and come to some kind of workable arrangement. I hope you will get back to me real quick. I cant afford, nor do I deserve to have to sit around any longer. I hope you can see where I am coming from. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you. (4/10/2007)
Question: Well, what to do. I did not get back with the other shipment in time, because I thought we were good to go. I lost out on that load, and now I dont know what to make out of this situation. If I loose out on both, I will be in a bad way! I have waited around a whole day to make this work. I went to the Uship webpage that offers the insurance and for 25 grand it would cost aprox. $180-200.00 I dont know what more I can do to help you out here. Thank you. p.s. I guess I could split the cost with you since I have already gone in the hole here. (4/10/2007)
Response: Ralph, I can tell you are an accomodating business person trying to make a living and I hear that. On the other hand we simply need information to make a good business decision ourselves. It's unfortunate you weren't able to fax your insurance certificate due to traffic etc. It's something your agent could fax if you don't have access when you're on the road. Though your client commments are great, you know they won't pay if some jerk hits you! So it's critical that I confirm liability. I would not expect you to pay for an additional rider. I will inquire whether our insurance applies to a commercial transport operation, but I would imagine it does not since we are covered personally only. I have made arrangements w/ a storage faciliy in Heber and am still inquiring w/ the Marina about onsite parking. Frankly, all this is due to your timetable as we weren't looking to take delivery until May. [NOTE: Once a bid is accepted, both parties' contact info will be exchanged. -uShip] (4/10/2007)
Question: Hello, Are there brakes on the trailer? What is the MAXIMUM width of the load? Is the mast removed? If you cannot answer the above, can I gain access to the storage yard (on my dime)? I live in LV and can ship during the desired date range. However, I need to better understand what you've got. Tx - Scott (4/14/2007)
Response: Scott, There are brakes on the trailer and an emergency release system along w/ required taillighting. I believe the width w/ trailer is under 10'(beam is ony 8'6"). The gross weight for this model is less than 3600lbs. The boat is demastd and ready to roll. The storage is in Bolder City and I have a cousin there that could help you gain access. What kind of estimate would you imagine on a job like this a 415 miles? (4/15/2007)
Question: Hello, What are the chances of meeting with your cousin at the storage location on Saturday, 4/21 in the LATE afternoon to view the sailboat? I regret I must see what I am bidding on prior to placing my bid. This assures no surprises for you or me. Naturally, others interested in bidding this move are welcome. Please specify the time and boat location should this Saturday work. Otherwise, the following weekend would be fine too. Tx - Scott (4/17/2007)
Question: Hey, I just wanted to say the we offer $50,000.00 cargo insurance to you at no extra cost. The over size permits are included in this bid, & we already have are owne over size banners. We are professional grade! Thanks, Todd @ The Wize Guyz (4/27/2007)
Response: Todd, What exactly does cargo insurance mean? Although we aren't in LV to measure her up to the inch it's unlikely that her width will require oversize permitting, but good to know you've got it anyway. We have been traveling (out of country) quite a bit this month and will be leaving again on Mon. It would be difficult to make any pick up arrangements before May 14 due to travel. It would be ideal week of May 21 or later. (4/28/2007)
Question: Cargo insurance is to cover your boat while it is "on the hook" in transit. We are flexible to what ever would be convenient to you as far as the pickup and delivery dates. Our bid is the same if it requires permits or not, if it does we will handle all that for you. If this sounds good let's get you scheduled before we get booked up. We look forward to serving you. Todd @ The Wize Guyz (4/28/2007)
Response: OK, I understand. Now I have to ask about that one negative feedback I read - especially since it related to a boat shipment. (4/28/2007)
Question: Unfortunatly we were unable to inspect this boat before it was shrink wrapped. After speaking to shrink wrapper and reviewing photos of the damage it was determined that damage did not occur in transit otherwise, we would have been more then happy to take care of the damage. We do not pay for damage that we do not do. We now take complete photos before pickup and again after delivery, so there are no surprises. (4/28/2007)
Response: I've been hunting around the website to determine how to accept your bid before I leave out of town and can't be sure when I'll have access to email next. I'm hoping you'll extend your bid if we can't get this confirmed in the next 3 hours. (4/30/2007)
Question: I will have one of my 3500 Dually`s passing by you in a week or so and we can do this for you for $700 if your interested, please check us out you will find no negatives, 81 positives, and no smart comments. (4/29/2007)
Question: In the initial bid that you recieve there should be a link to accept the bid all you do is click "ACCEPT BID" and it will walk you through it. Angie ~ The Wize Guyz (4/30/2007)
Response: Found it . Just wasn't logged in. Made deposit will be back in touch after 5/14. (4/30/2007)
